‘Inner Excellence’ author Jim Murphy to be in attendence for Eagles vs. Rams

‘Inner Excellence’ author Jim Murphy will be a guest of A.J. Brown’s and plans to be in attendence for Eagles vs. Rams divisional round game

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown and Jim Murphy, the author of “Inner Excellence,” met after the wide receiver went viral for reading Murphy’s book on the sideline of a playoff game.

Murphy joined Brown at the Eagles facility on Friday, according to PHLY’s Zach Berman and NBC Sports’ John Clark.

Brown was reading Murphy’s “Inner Excellence” on the sidelines of last Sunday’s Eagles’ Wild Card win over the Green Bay Packers.

After his Saturday visit with Brown, Murphy will attend the Eagles’ divisional-round game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Meanwhile, Murphy’s book climbed to No. 1 on Amazon’s trending list. According to ESPN, the title was previously ranked 523,497th on the list.

Murphy told Sportico’s Jacob Feldman the book went from selling five copies a day to selling 10,000 the day after the Eagles game.

A.J. Brown is polarizing, so it shouldn’t be a shock when a zen-like moment on the sidelines turns into a debate about his “unhappiness” or ” frustration ” with the Eagles’ passing game.

Hoping to stay focused, positive, and aware of his emotions, Brown was spotted reading Jim Murphy’s ‘Inner Excellence’ on the sidelines late in the fourth quarter of Philadelphia’s wild-card game against Green Bay.

Afterward, Brown explained to the media his reasoning for reading the book and how it brings the wide receiver “peace” and mental jewels.

Some in the media have criticized Brown’s reading, believing he was frustrated or disgruntled. On Tuesday, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni responded to those critics and criticized “lazy” journalism or people who give an opinion on a topic without proper research.

In the book, Murphy helps some of the world’s top athletes discover the mental training system that has empowered athletes to become world #1 and, most importantly, transform their lives.

Brown has one catch for ten yards on three targets, but Philadelphia is winning 22-10 and will move on to the NFC Divisional Round of the playoffs.
