Four-star 2025 recruit sets commitment date, Florida among top choices

2025 prospect will make his commitment at the All-American Bowl, and the Florida Gators are among his top choices.

The Florida Gators are likely to get a hot start on the 2025 recruiting trail with a three-star recruit announcing his commitment date.

Four-star cornerback [autotag]Jett White[/autotag] told 247Sports that he’ll be choosing his college destination at the All-American Bowl on Jan. 6.

The high school junior is still pondering his decisions, but he’s narrowed his list down to 10 favorites with the Florida Gators included.

“The date is locked in but I’m still trying to figure out my decision,” White said. “It’s a day-to-day process for me but I’m confident I’ll have it locked in by the 6th.”

White likes what he sees in Florida, especially the program’s future potential.

“They’re on the rise and recruiting is going really well,” White said. “I don’t think it will be long before they’re back on top.”

The Gators are currently No. 32 in overall 2025 recruiting but there is more than ample time to make up ground.

White is a 6-foot-1-inch cornerback from Miami, Florida, who’s ranked at No. 270 on the 247Sports composite scale and No. 32 at his position.

Four-star CB added to visitor list for Florida-Tennessee game

Jett White, a four-star cornerback that backed off his commitment to USC, will be in Gainesville on Saturday to see Florida play Tennessee.

It’s no secret that Saturday’s clash between Florida and Tennessee will be one of the bigger in-season recruiting weekends of the year for the Gators.

The latest name to get added to the visitor list is Miami Edison cornerback Jett White, a former USC commit, according to Gators Online’s Corey Bender and Keith Niebuhr.

Billy Napier and Co. offered White a scholarship in August, and now they’ll get him on campus for his first gameday experience. Secondary coach Corey Raymond is high on White, and it sounds like there’s some growing interest from both sides.

White previously played high school ball in California, but he’s in Miami for his final two years.

“Florida is a school I have always liked but wasn’t getting much interest from,” White said. “I guess moving to Miami kind of put me on their radar since I am a local now. They are definitely high in the mix now.”

A four-star recruit everywhere but 247Sports, White is ranked highest by ESPN at No. 140 overall in the class of 2025.
The On3 industry ranking, which uses a weighted average of all four major services, grants him four-star status and puts him at No. 236 on the national rankings. He’s also No. 22 among cornerbacks in the class and No. 35 among recruits from the state of Florida.

Florida football offers 4-star former USC cornerback commit

The Gators jumped on this West Coast transfer quickly with a scholarship offer.

Florida football’s secondary coach Corey Raymond extended a scholarship offer on Wednesday to four-star cornerback [autotag]Jett White[/autotag] in the 2025 recruiting class, who originally hails from California but transferred to Miami (Florida) Edison for his junior season. Now a resident of the Sunshine State, the former USC Trojans commit is ready to forge a relationship with the Orange and Blue.

“Florida is a school I have always liked but wasn’t getting much interest from. I guess moving to Miami kind of put me on their radar since I am a local now. They are definitely high in the mix now,” White told On3’s Corey Bender.

“I know they have a great tradition there, won some nattys, and they have always been a top-tier team and hotbed for athletes,” he noted. “The Swamp was always a hard place to go into and come out with a win. Also, the infamous Tim Tebow speech, the guarantee.”

Other schools to have offered the 6-foot-1.5-inch, 165-pound defender, include the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oregon Ducks, Michigan Wolverines, LSU Tigers, Tennessee Volunteers and Notre Dame Fighting Irish, most notably.

The Gators’ offer seemingly came without notice, hearing about the good news through his coach.

“After my game last night, coach called me and said Florida offered,” White said. “Coach Corey was the coach who offered me, but I had talked to the assistant DBs coach, coach CJ (Wilford), earlier in the day. He was just saying how they want to get me up there for a game-day visit.”

He is expected to be in Gainesville to watch a game in the Swamp sometime in September.

White is ranked No. 187 overall and No. 24 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 233 and 22, respectively. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine still has USC on top (39.2%) followed by the Penn State Nittany Lions (17.4%), Oregon (10.1%) and Georgia (4.4%) for his commitment.

Jett White discusses Vols’ offer, upcoming visits, playing with Nico Iamaleava

2025 cornerback Jett White discusses Tennessee offer, upcoming visits and playing with Nico Iamaleava.

Tennessee offered a scholarship to 2025 four-star cornerback Jett White on May 1.

The 6-foot-1 1/2, 165-pound cornerback is from Los Alamitos High School in Los Alamitos, California.

White discussed his recruitment with Vols Wire.

“Definitely in the top list of schools,” White said about Tennessee after being offered a scholarship. “They have always been a top-tier university with a rich tradition. Several great players have come from there.”

White has a relationship with Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava and his family: He played 7on7 with the Vols’ freshman signal-caller.

“When I got the offer, he said come to Rocky Top,” White said of Iamaleava.

White is the No. 115 overall prospect in the class of 2025, according to On3’s industry rankings. He earned first-team MaxPreps High School All-American honors in back-to-back seasons as a freshman and sophomore.

White discussed having confidence in his skills when he competes at the collegiate level.

“When you are a long, rangy cornerback with quick twitch and good cover and ball skills, you can play in any defense,” he said.

White also mentioned he plans to visit Tennessee during the 2023 season.

“I plan to visit in the fall for a game and back again in the spring before taking an official visit the next fall,” White said.

The 2025 prospect decommitted from USC on Jan. 3. He committed to the Trojans on Sept. 25, 2021.

“Right now, I’m just taking it one day at a time,” White said about his recruitment process. “I’m not in a rush or hurry to make a decision.”
