Nephew of Kobe Bryant, a 2026 safety, trying to visit Notre Dame this fall

Surely those are good bloodlines

Although the page has yet to be turned on the 2025 Notre Dame recruiting class, see Deuce Knight, the Irish are still looking ahead to the next class.

One of its targets is Nevada safety [autotag]Jett Washington[/autotag], who was offered a scholarship back in January is extremely interested in the Irish. The 6-foot, 5-inch and 200-pound star is ranked as the nation’s No. 61 overall prospect and 4th ranked athlete according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

According to a social media post by Matt Freeman, Washington is looking to get to South Bend sometime in November. Notre Dame has two of its biggest games that month, hosting Florida State and traveling to USC.

You have to assume that the Irish coaching staff wants Washington on campus when the Seminoles come to town, as that’s the best recruiting environment they’ll have during that month.

Alabama Football offers 2026 prospect, nephew of NBA legend Kobe Bryant

Alabama extends an offer to 2026 four-star athlete Jett Washington, the nephew of the late Kobe Bryant.

The Alabama Crimson Tide coaching staff extended an offer to 2026 four-star athlete Jett Washington on Friday. Washington is the nephew of former Los Angeles Laker and NBA Hall of Fame inductee Kobe Bryant.

The product of Bishop Gorman High School is one of the top dual sport athletes in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Washington plays both basketball and football for the Gaels.

As a junior, Washington had an impressive football season. He recorded 37 tackles and two interceptions. While Washington is listed as an athlete by most recruiting sites, he is expected to play safety at the college level. He is listed at 6-foot-5 and 200 pounds.

247Sports recruiting analyst Greg Biggins had the following to say about Washington’s skillset:

Washington is a high major prospect in football and basketball. He’s the nephew of NBA legend Kobe Bryant (mom is Bryant’s sister) and helped lead the Gaels to a state title on the hardwood. He brings a lot of versatility to the grid-iron as well. The big question with Washington is what position will he play in college. He’s a legit 6-5, 200 pounds and could end up at receiver, safety, linebacker or even grow in to an edge rusher. He played primarily safety as a sophomore and can play in the box, loves to hit and has a nice physical edge in his game. We’ve seen him work out at receiver and he looks natural running routes, has strong hands and can make plays down the field. With his frame and growth potential, it’s not hard to envision him eventually moving to linebacker but regardless where he lines up, he’s a tremendous prospect and has a very high ceiling.

Washington has taken two visits in 2024. He made unofficial visits to the Cal-Berkeley Bears and the Ohio State Buckeyes. It will be interesting to see if Alabama can get Washington on campus during the 2024-2025 season.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the latest regarding the Alabama football program and its efforts on the recruiting trail.

Notre Dame football offers massive 2026 athlete

The Irish return to Bishop Gorman trying to lure another big time prospect to South Bend

It’s safe to say that Notre Dame football likes to recruit larger defensive backs and wide receivers.

That trend won’t end anytime soon, especially after their most recent offer to Las Vegas’ [autotag]Jett Washington[/autotag]. The 6-foot, 4-inch and 195-pound 2026 athlete preps at Bishop Gorman, a powerhouse high school that the Irish are extremely familiar with.

Washington could play basketball at the collegiate level as well, as his elite athleticism shows on the court as well as the gridiron. He’s ranked as a receiver at the moment, the No. 10 at the position and 75th prospect nationally according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The Irish are the first offer Washington has received this year, who could very well see his recruitment heat up again.
