WATCH: Sam Darnold’s mad dash gives Jets their first lead of 2020

Sam Darnold runs for a 46-yard touchdown to give the Jets their first lead of 2020.

Sam Darnold’s legs have given the Jets their first lead of the 2020 season.

On third and seven from Denver’s 46-yard line, Darnold had pressure coming his way, avoided the sack and took off for the endzone. He juked Denver’s Justin Simmons on his way to a 46-yard touchdown to give the Jets a 7-0 edge in the first quarter.

Darnold’s run was the longest ever by a Jets quarterback.

On the Jets’ first drive of the game, Darnold converted two other first downs to keep the drive alive and it resulted in a touchdown. With the Jets still thin at wide receiver, Darnold has to do what he can in order to jumpstart an offense that has struggled mightily this season.

Maybe Darnold’s touchdown run will give the offense a spark the rest of the way.
