Former Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was considered one of the top pass catchers in a loaded 2020 draft class. Now, he’s in the NFL and has made the first reception in his career.
Jeudy, who won the Biletnikoff award in 2018 as the best pass catcher in college football, was the second wide receiver selected in the 2020 NFL draft at No. 15 overall by the Denver Broncos.
The first receiver drafted was his former teammate for the Crimson Tide, Henry Ruggs III, at No. 12 overall by the Las Vegas Raiders.
Ruggs made his professional debut on Sunday in the Raiders’ Week 1 win against the Carolina Panthers, where he caught three passes for a team-high 55 yards.
Jeudy’s debut comes in the form of a ‘Monday night Football’ primetime game against the Tennessee Titans, a team that two former Alabama stars, Derrick Henry and Rashaan Evans call home.
His first catch was a quick ten-yard curl. he actually slipped during the route, but was able to recover and make the play for the first down.
