Offensive lineman Jeremiah Sirles, who played for the Vikings for three seasons, has said that he is retiring from the NFL.
Sirles announced the decision on Twitter, where he used #SKOL as one of his hashtags.
“After two major ankle surgeries last year, my wife and I have made the decision to see what the future holds for our family,” Sirles said in a letter he posted on Twitter.

Sirles came to the Vikings after being traded from the Chargers. He started a total of 20 games in his career, including 14 for Minnesota. He played for a total of five seasons. Besides the Chargers and the Vikings, Sirles played for the Buffalo Bills as well.
“Part of me will always be a kid who was able to play a game he loved for twenty years,” Sirles said in the letter. “Here is to the next steps and some exciting things lined up.”
