High school quarterback Jayden Wade identifies favorite NFL passers

One Lincoln Riley quarterback made the cut for Jayden Wade.

IMG Academy’s Jayden Wade will replace three-star quarterbacks Dominic Mazzone Jr. (North Carolina) and Jayden Bradford (Liberty) this season. Football evaluators and college football programs such as USC are intensely interested in seeing how this dynamic, young prospect will evolve in the next few years before he eventually makes his college choice.

Wade is a dual-threat quarterback in the mold of former LSU and Arizona State quarterback Jayden Daniels. He even has a little Cam Newton to his game as well, already being listed at 6-3 and 190 pounds as a high school freshman. Just imagine where he will be in two years.

Wade also averaged over five yards per carry as a rusher last season, according to 247Sports.com writer Jared Mack.

Trojans Wire: How has IMG head coach Billy Miller helped your career so far?

Jayden Wade: Coach Billy is a great guy and coach. He has taught me so much in the little time that I have been at IMG. The toughness and experience he brings is top notch. I look forward to learning more under his program.

Trojans Wire: Would you ever consider re-classifying like previous phenoms Julian Lewis, J.T. Daniels or Quinn Ewers ?

Jayden Wade: I havenā€™t thought about it that at all yet, it’s still very early in my career.

Trojans Wire: Who are some of the best players whoā€™ve ever played with or against so far in your young career?

Jayden Wade: Last year my team had a lot of top recruits. I’d say David Stone or Ellis Robinson IV — both were five stars — were the best I went against.

Also Zech Fort and Ksani Jiles are super competitive and force me to play at a high level always.

Meet freshman phenom and IMG Academy QB Jayden Wade

This is part one of an interview series with a young QB prospect at IMG Academy.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet Jayden Wade, a recruiting prospect to watch. Wade is the freshman quarterback from Southern California who will start for IMG Academy in Bradenton (Florida) this fall.

He’s been getting Division I offers since he was in seventh grade. His coaches see a potential all-time quarterback, even being called a future NFL star at the early age of 13.

Last fall, Wade played and started at quarterback for IMG Academy, a boarding school in Bradenton that regularly produces some of the most coveted high school football prospects in the country. Wade became the first eighth grader or freshman to start a game for IMG Academy since Ryan Downes did it in 2021.

We got to sit down with the freshman phenom to ask him about his recruitment, 2024 season goals for IMG Academy football, and much more.

Trojans Wire: How does it feel to already have over 10 offers even though you are a freshman entering high school?

Jayden Wade: It feels amazing to have colleges interested in me so early in the process honestly. It makes me more motivated to keep getting better each and every day.

Trojans Wire: Originally from Carson (California), why did you make the move to Bradenton at IMG Academy?

Jayden Wade: IMG and their staff does such a great job developing their players, creating a environment to get better and compete against top teams every years. The quarterback success of guys like Shea Patterson, Kellen Mood and JJ McCarthy is just a testament to that.

Trojans Wire: How does it feel to be looked at as a generational talent?

Jayden Wade: It just motivates me to work harder. I want to be looked at as one of the hardest workers in the game that focuses on his craft like Kobe Bryant, straight “Mamba Mentality.”

Oregon Ducks offer QB ‘prodigy’ Jayden Wade in class of 2028

The Oregon Ducks have extended a scholarship offer to Jayden Wade, a QB in the class of 2028.

One of the most important aspects of recruiting in the world of college football is being up on the future stars before others have had a chance to build a relationship with them. That’s exactly what Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks appear to be doing, extending a scholarship offer to Jayden Wade, a quarterback in the class of 2028.

At the moment, Wade is a 14-year-old who plays for IMG Academy. He has been dubbed a QB “prodigy” by analysts and fans who have watched his development over the years. In late December, Wade picked up his first major scholarship offer from the Georgia Bulldogs, but he also holds offers from the Utah Utes, Washington State Cougars, and Arizona Wildcats.

According to his social media, Wade stands at 6-foot-4, 190 pounds. At the moment, the Ducks don’t have any other offers in the class of 2028, but they have extended several offers in the class of 2027.
