What program does four-star Jason Patterson say is recruiting him the hardest?

Four-star Jason Patterson gives a brief update on his recruitment.

Jason Patterson is set to end his recruitment next week. A four-star running back from Florida, Patterson is down to five Power Five schools. His first official visit was to Rutgers football in early June.

In fact, his five official visits (Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Rutgers, Cincinnati and Boston College) will make up his final five when he announces on August 1.

Patterson is ranked a four-star by ESPN.com. As a junior, Patterson put up video game numbers during the 2021 season, running for 2,721 yards and 35 touchdowns for Sneads High School (Sneads, FL). This spring, he ran a 10.97 in the 100 meters as part of the track team.

On Sunday night, Patterson spoke briefly with Rutgers Wire about where things stand in his recruitment and why Rutgers made the final cutdown.

“Really because I have a connection with all the coaches there, every time I talk with them I feel that connection,” Patterson told Rutgers Wire. “I feel like I’m a priority for them.”

Patterson’s output at Sneads coupled with his speed make him a fascinating prospect. Combining patience in the backfield with the ability to break into long strides at the second level, Patterson has home run ability once he gets in the open field.

He accelerates effortlessly.

When asked if there is a program that is sticking out in his recruitment, Patterson said one team was showing him the most attention and love throughout the process.

“Rutgers really and truly,” Patterson said.

“They really are like recruiting me hard. They’re pursuing me hard. We talk every day. We are on Zoom, sometimes with several coaches. I feel like a priority there.”

What five teams will four-star Jason Patterson pick from next week?

Jason Patterson is down to five times with Rutgers football in the mix for his commitment.

One of the top players on the Rutgers football recruiting board, Florida running back Jason Patterson, is set to make his commitment to one of five programs next week. An elite athlete, Patterson has locked-in on five programs, all from Power Five schools, as his recruitment looks to be shutting down.

Over the weekend, Patterson confirmed he will be announcing on August 1.

Patterson is a four-star running back according to ESPN.com. He confirmed to Rutgers Wire this weekend that he will be deciding from the five programs where he has taken an official visit: Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Rutgers, Cincinnati and Boston College. No other visits are planned.

Patterson was recently listed by Rutgers Wire as one of several uncommitted players to keep an eye on as a possible commit in the 2024 class.

In 2021 as a junior, Patterson ran for 2,721 yards and 35 touchdowns as a starting running back for Sneads High School (Sneads, FL). He is also a standout sprinter, having clocked a 10.97 in the 100 meters this spring during track season.

Rutgers already has a commitment from a four-star running back, Gabriel Winowich, who committed to Rutgers in January. Winowich is a four-star according to 247Sports and ESPN.

Rutgers football recruiting: Jason Patterson set to decide on August 1

Jason Patterson will commit on August 1.

Florida running back Jason Patterson is set to announce his commitment in three weeks. The class of 2024 running back took an official visit to Rutgers in early June.

Patterson confirmed to Rutgers Wire a report from Thursday morning that he will be committing on August 1. He has taken official visits to Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Rutgers, Cincinnati and Boston College and will not take any more visits.

Ranked a four-star by ESPN.com, Patterson ran for 2,721 yards and 35 touchdowns as a junior last season for Sneads High School (Sneads, FL). In addition, he is a standout sprinter, running a 10.97 in the 100 meters during spring track.

He tells Rutgers Wire that he will in fact be making his commitment on Aug. 1:

“I’m doing what’s best for me and my family,” Patterson told Rutgers Wire.

Recently, the running back took a deep dive into his recruitment. He said that Rutgers set a high standard with their official visit.

In addition, he cited a relationship with the coaching staff that is tight. The whole coaching staff, Patterson said, is one he can “vibe” with.

And he says there is one primary reason why he included Rutgers in his final five.

“Because the relationship I have with all the staff is so high,” Patterson said.

‘Who can I vibe with?’ A special connection on the defensive side of the ball for four-star running back Jason Patterson

Florida running back Jason patterson details a strong relationship with Rutgers football that may be a surprise.

Jason Patterson is done taking his official visits as the Florida running back is closing in on a decision date. In June, Patterson took an official visit to Rutgers football, part of a whirlwind month where he also checked out a total of five Power Five programs.

Ranked a four-star by ESPN.com, Patterson had 2,721 rushing yards last season with 35 touchdowns for Sneads High School (Sneads, FL). He is fast, with a 10.97 time in the 100 meters during spring track.

He has taken a visit to all five programs that made his final cutdown Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Rutgers, Cincinnati and Boston College.Patterson is done taking his official visits.

“I’m getting closer, I wouldn’t say I’ve wrapped it up,” Patterson told Rutgers Wire.

“I’m getting there. I’m just really evaluating right now. I’m keeping it at five.

“I don’t have a date, I’m trying to get it before the season. I don’t have a date. Probably early August.”

Patterson’s first official visit was to Rutgers in early June. The visit went along well and made a good impression out the gate for the recruit as he got to further know head coach Greg Schiano and running backs coach Damiere Shaw.

“The Rutgers visit, it was the first one. It set the bar high, it set the bar high,” Patterson said.

“Because of how they made me feel. The whole staff really and truly make you feel like you’re at home.”

He is looking for a program where he can grow on the field and be developed. But he is prioritizing relationships as a major part of what matters to him.

[lawrence-related id=28155,28146]

When asked what he is looking for in a future school, Patterson laid out two priorities for the football side of things.

“Where I feel I can develop on and off the field and just continue the relationship I have,” Patterson said.

“In college, you’re around them all the time. Who can I vibe with all the time? Which the Rutgers staff, I can vibe with the whole staff. I’m very, very close with coach Harasymiak, and he coaches the defense.”

The connection with Rutgers is intriguing. Last year,  defensive coordinator [autotag]Joe Harasymiak[/autotag] was at Sneads’ final game, a playoff loss at Blountstown. Patterson has no idea why Harasmyiak was there or who sent him his tape.

Had Sneads won the game, they would have played Hawthorne the next week, the program that Rutgers commit [autotag]Mozell Williams[/autotag] was on. That’s the only connection that Patterson can make as to why Harasymiak could have been in the area.

But it began a relationship that now sees the Scarlet Knights positioned in Patterson’s top five.

“Rutgers doesn’t have my area, I’m in the middle of nowhere. No one has my area. His area is three hours from me in Jacksonville. His area is three hours from me, but he is the closest one to me. He found out about me, and sent my tape to coach Shaw,” Patterson said.

The timing of the list points to a decision likely coming in the next couple of weeks, with Patterson saying they “are the schools where I can see myself playing at.”

In early June, Patterson took an official visit to Rutgers.

“They have a great coaching staff, I can probably say from top to bottom – head coach to the recruiting department – I have the best connection with them,” Patterson said.

“Far as off the football just talking, I can get along with them the best. Everyone at Rutgers knows me and what I can bring.”

Four-star running back Jason Patterson was impressed on his Rutgers football official visit

Jason Patterson recounts his visit to Rutgers football.

Rutgers football hosted Jason Patterson over the weekend for an official visit. The Florida running back, a four-star recruit according to ESPN.com, is one of the fastest high school recruits in the nation.

Patterson is a member of the ESPN 300 out of Sneads High School (Sneads, FL). Patterson is a legitimate Power Five recruit, with offers from Boston College, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Stanford, Vanderbilt and West Virginia as well as Rutgers.

The class of 2024 running back is also a standout track star, who recently clocked a 10.96 time in the 100 meters during spring outdoor track. Last season as a junior, Patterson had 2,721 rushing yards with 35 touchdowns.

During his official visit, Patterson made a social media post about how he was impressed with the level of love shown by Rutgers.

“One of the best trips of my life, loved every moment about it!” Patterson told Rutgers Wire on Sunday night.

“The staff – they are genuinely great people.”

Patterson then expanded on what stood out about the relationship with head coach Greg Schiano and his staff.

“Like the staff, I feel at home and welcomed when I’m there. Coach Schiano wants to win and everyone is bought in and wants to win too,” Patterson said.

“So they’re doing what they can to get there.”

The best part of the trip for Patterson was Saturday night when the group went to New York City. It was a first for Patterson, who was impressed with Times Square.

He did not get any photos with Sponge Bob or Wonder Woman.

The trip didn’t necessarily see Rutgers move up in his recruitment. That’s because Patterson said the program is already doing well.

“I always thought high of them so they are very high on my list,” Patterson said.

“Don’t know if they had much to move.”

Next weekend, Patterson will be at Boston College followed by Kansas, Cincinnati and Vanderbilt.

Florida four-star running back Jason Patterson on his official visit: ‘The Rutgers love is crazy’

Jason Patterson is definitely feeling the love from Rutgers football.

A standout performer for Sneads High School (Sneads, FL), Patterson is considered one of the fastest football players at his position in the nation. He recently ran a 109.97 time in the 100 meters in spring track.

He is slated to take official visits in the coming weeks to Boston College and Cincinnati.

Perhaps all the love from Rutgers shouldn’t be a surprise. Earlier this week, Florida defensive back Josh Philostin told Rutgers Wire that the Scarlet Knights were recruiting him the hardest.

It seems that Rutgers has done a good job of targeting certain players and making them feel loved:

“Rutgers is the school I’d say probably recruits me the hardest – I hear from everyone on the staff . We communicate every day or almost (every day).”

Rutgers football: Jason Patterson schedules official visit…but where else will the four-star go?

Rutgers football recruit Jason Patterson will visit in June.

Jason Patterson went into this spring season with the goal of cracking 11 seconds in the 100 meters. The running back from Sneads High School (Sneads, FL) is one of the fastest football players in a state known for speed.

A four-star recruit according to ESPN.com, Patterson had 2,721 rushing yards last season with 35 touchdowns. Staggering numbers for a player who is elusive and hard to bring down.

Ahead of a busy June where he will take four official visits, Patterson said that Rutgers has told him that he is the top running back on their board.

“The staff, from top to bottom –  I can tell that I am wanted there and I want to repay back the love,” Patterson told Rutgers Wire on Sunday.

  • Rutgers (June 1-3)

  • Stanford (June 23-25)

A program to keep an eye on is Illinois, who has upped their conversation with the Florida running back in recent weeks. The Illini are set to visit Patterson this week and could be extending an offer.
