The Vols offered McCoy a scholarship on March 27, 2023.

Alabama offers 2026 4-star DL, Mississippi native JaReylan McCoy

The Alabama coaching staff extended an offer to 2026 four-star defensive lineman JaReylan McCoy on Wednesday evening.

The Alabama Crimson Tide coaching staff extended its latest offer to 2026 four-star defensive lineman JaReylan McCoy on Wednesday evening. McCoy is a high school teammate of Alabama target and 2025 four-star cornerback Maison Dunn.

McCoy is ranked as the No. 10 defensive lineman in the 2026 recruiting class according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings. As a sophomore, McCoy recorded 44 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, and 11 sacks. Thus far, he has received 17 offers from various programs including the Auburn Tigers, Florida Gators, Kentucky Wildcats, Ole Miss Rebels, and Mississippi State Bulldogs.

McCoy was in Tuscaloosa in March for an unofficial visit. Therefore, he has been in contact and been able to meet the new coaching staff. I would expect McCoy to be in Tuscaloosa soon for an unofficial visit alongside his teammate Maison Dunn. Both are targets for the Alabama coaching staff.

Four-star DL JaReylan McCoy includes Auburn in top 12

Auburn is in the hunt for a top defensive lineman from the 2026 class.

Auburn football’s 2026 recruiting efforts are off to a hot start as they are in the mix to land several notable recruits.

Among those is four-star defensive lineman [autotag]JaReylan McCoy[/autotag], who included Auburn in his top 12 last week. Several programs joining Auburn in McCoy’s top list are Kentucky, LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, and Tennessee.

McCoy is a four-star defensive lineman from Tupelo, Mississippi, and is considered to be a top-10 player at his position according to rankings from three recruiting outlets, ranking as high as No. 3. In a recent interview with Chad Simmons of On3, McCoy shared why Auburn, as well as the remaining 11 programs, remain in the hunt.

“These schools have been consistent with the conversation and just getting to know my family instead of making it all about football,” McCoy said. “Another thing is the schooling and how they have some good programs that can help me in the long run.”

At the time of this post, Ole Miss is the frontrunner according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 67.2% forecast. LSU, USC, and Mississippi State are next in line.

LSU makes the cut for top-50 2026 DL JaReylan McCoy

Ole Miss was the favorite for the Tupelo, Mississippi, prospect but didn’t make his top 12.

LSU already has a very strong defensive line class in 2025, and its looking to carry that momentum into the next cycle.

On Monday, four-star Tupelo, Mississippi, defensive lineman [autotag]JaReylan McCoy[/autotag] trimmed his list to 12 teams, and the Tigers made the cut. Joining them in the top 12 for the top 50 national prospect was Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Minnesota, Mississippi State, OklahomaOregonPenn State and Tennessee.

“These schools have been consistent with the conversation and just getting to know my family instead of making it all about football,” McCoy told On3’s Chad Simmons. “Another thing is the schooling and how they have some good programs that can help me in the long run. Most of the schools in my top are schools that took the time to look over my film and break down what I could do differently. They just fill me up with better moves and try to help me get better.”

The Tigers were thought to have to fend off in-state Ole Miss, which is the heavy favorite to land his services. However, the Rebels didn’t make his top 12, and that could open the door for LSU to become the frontrunner.

LSU is looking for talented defensive linemen for the 2026 class, and they have found one in Mississippi.

LSU is looking for talented defensive linemen for the 2026 class, and they have found one in Mississippi.

[autotag]JaReylan McCoy[/autotag] is a 6-foot-7, 240-pound defensive lineman from Tupelo, Mississippi, where he plays for Tupelo High School. The Tupelo Green Wave finished the 2022 season 13-1 with a loss to Starkville in the 6A state championship game.

There are currently no Crystal Ball projections for McCoy at this time, but the Ole Miss Rebels are a 64% favorite to land him per On3.

Film Analysis: McCoy is early in his recruiting journey but standing at 6-foot-7 as a freshman is crazy. He does a great job using his hands to get in the backfield.
