WATCH: Clemson commit Jaren Kanak puts hit stick on 5 defenders in TD run

Clemson commit Jaren Kanak turned on the hit stick as he overpowered defender after defender for the 61-yard touchdown. Watch the highlight here:

If you follow Clemson football recruiting, you likely know that four-star commit Jaren Kanak is fast. Very fast. The two-sport athlete posted the second-best 100-meter time in the state of Kansas during the track season, according to Catch it Kansas.

But you may not have known just how Kanak powerful is as well. The Hays (Kansas) High School athlete trucked five defenders and broke through one more tackle as he barrelled his way to a 61-yard touchdown on Friday.

Seriously, this run makes it look like he turned up his Madden sliders and pounded the hit stick through nearly a half-dozen defenders in pursuit of the end zone.

Here’s another angle:

Hays lost to Maize (Kansas) High School 48-26, but Kanak’s run was the highlight of the evening.

Kanak is a four-star player ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the top player in Kansas and No. 11 athlete in the class of 2022. Listed at 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, he is expected to play linebacker at Clemson, according to The Hays Daily News.

Kanak committed to the Tigers over 33 other offers, according to 247Sports, including programs such as Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Oklahoma and Penn State along with in-state universities Kansas and Kansas State.

If you’ve heard nothing else about this football player, these videos above will tell you all you need to know.

Friday Night Lights: Sabb, Randall lead future Tigers with impressive performances

A bunch of Clemson commitments shined with standout performances in their respective teams’ games this weekend.

Four-star linebacker pledge Jaren Kanak put together another dominant performance, but it wasn’t enough as Hays (KS.) fell 61-40 to Wichita Northwest (Wichita, KS.). Kanak recorded 176 yards on the ground and three rushing touchdowns (3, 30 and 54 yards) in the first half, but came up lame on his final score before halftime. Kanak tossed two touchdown passes, as well, but it wasn’t enough, as Hays was unable to hold off a second-half comeback.

Four-star wide receiver pledge Adam Randall did it all against South Florence. In Myrtle Beach’s (S.C.) 21-17 win on Friday, Randall accounted for all three of his team’s touchdowns. He threw a 15-yard touchdown pass on a trick play and had two rushing touchdowns (1 and 45 yards). While it was a relatively low-scoring affair and Randall had just 110 yards of total offense, the receiver commit was the difference in his team’s 4-point victory.

In other action, the IMG trio of four-star pledges DE Jihaad Campbell, CB Daylen Everette and S Keon Sabb faced off against East St. Louis (IL.) and fellow Clemson cornerback commit, four-star Toriano Pride.

Campbell recorded a sack and Sabb had a 99-yard pick-six to give IMG an early 7-0 lead. They’d go on to win in dominating fashion, 49-8.

As for Greenville’s (S.C) three-star tight end pledge Josh Sapp, in his first game since committing to Clemson, the legacy recruit had just two catches for 16 yards. Sapp and four-star offensive tackle pledge Collin Sadler were unable to help hold off Greenwood (S.C.), which narrowly won 30-29 and improved to 7-1 on the season.

Here are other scores from games involving Clemson commits this weekend:

S Sherrod Covil, Oscar Smith (Chesapeake, Va.) – 51-13 win vs. Nansemond River (Suffolk, Va.)

CB Jeadyn Lukus, Mauldin (S.C.) – 38-28 win vs. Woodmont (Piedmont, S.C.)

OT Blake Miller, Strongsville (Oh.) – 31-14 loss vs. Brunswick (Oh.)

*Both Westlake (Austin, TX.) five-star quarterback commit Cade Klubnik and Pinellas Park (Largo, Fla). three-star kicker Robert Gunn III are still currently sidelined with injuries.

He totaled 195 yards on the ground, adding a 31-yard touchdown pass and a crucial two-point conversion.

Four-star wide receiver commit Adam Randall once again got it done. In Myrtle Beach (S.C.)’s 48-6 win over Wilson High School (Florence, S.C.), Randall finished the contest with six catches for 208 receiving yards, which all came in the first half. He also scored three touchdowns.

How a Clemson commit turned a devastating day into a celebration

The date July 30 is very significant to Jaren Kanak and means a great deal to the four-star athlete from Hays (Kan.) High School.

Not only is it the date that Kanak — the top-ranked senior in the state of Kansas — committed to Clemson and joined the Tigers’ 2022 recruiting class, but July 30 is also the anniversary of his father’s death.

On that day in 2008, Kanak’s father, Jason Alyn Kanak, lost his life in an automobile accident.

So, when Jaren decided to commit to the Tigers on July 30 of this year, he did so in order to honor his father. He wanted to take a day that was once full of tragedy and pain, and make a dream come true on the very same day 13 years later.

“I had it in mind for quite a while,” Kanak said to Sully Engels of KAKE News. “I knew that day was coming up. Clemson had kind of been a favorite there for a while, and when that day came around, I had enough confidence to make that decision.”

“Obviously on that day, I thought that was really special and really cool to do that then,” Kanak added. “Clemson, it just felt like the right fit for me.”

You can watch Engels’ full feature on Kanak in the video below:

A bunch of future Clemson stars shined in Week 3 action for their respective high school squads on Friday night.

Tigers linebacker commit Jaren Kanak (pictured above) who does it all for Hays High School (Hays, KS.) guided his team to a smooth 35-6 victory over Wichita East Friday night.

Kanak, who is currently playing quarterback for Hays, accounted for 484 total yards. He recorded 246 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns while passing for 162 yards and adding 72 yards as the team’s punt returner.

Though he’ll play linebacker for the Tigers, Kanak certainly showed what he’s capable of on the offensive side of the ball.

Not to steal his thunder, but Kanak arguably had a better offensive performance than Cade Klubnik in Week 3. The two ribbed each other about it on social media, but Clemson’s five-star quarterback commit again showed why he is currently 247Sports’ No. 1 ranked QB in the 2022 class.

In a winning effort, Klubnik completed 22 of 30 passes for 322 yards and a touchdown pass. He also added two rushing touchdowns in Austin (Tex.) Westlake’s 34-14 win over Euless Trinity.

While it may have come in a 24-21 losing effort to Greenville High School, Mauldin’s Jeadyn Lukus showed just how dominant he can be. Clemson’s five-star cornerback commit came away with an impressive interception and multiple clutch tackles He also added four receptions with 25 receiving yards on the offensive end.

Speaking of Clemson cornerback commits, four-star Toriano Pride showed out for his new high school — East St. Louis — in a 32-17 win over De Smet. Pride, a St. Louis native himself, recorded multiple pass breakups and forced fumble, while also shutting down nearly half the field as he continues his work as a shutdown corner.

Moving onto the kicking game, Largo (Fla.) Pinellas Park 2022 kicker Robert Gunn III drilled a 46-yard field goal with ease, which you can watch below.
