Does that mean Thibodeau will be fired …

Does that mean Thibodeau will be fired during the All-Star break? I don’t know the answer to that question. As stated previously, I would be a bit surprised if he were let go at this point. But stranger things have happened in pro sports. The idea that Wesley is privately citing Thibodeau’s coaching as a significant factor behind New York’s struggles is noteworthy.

But Wesley’s criticism of Thibodeau …

But Wesley’s criticism of Thibodeau suggests that the coach and management are not on the same page. And it suggests that Thibodeau and the front office are not functioning properly. Something else that suggests the front office and Thibodeau are not in lock step? The coach’s reaction at the trade deadline. Once it was clear that the Knicks weren’t making any trades on Feb. 10, Thibodeau was angry, per SNY sources. He believed that the roster would benefit from an upgrade, those sources say.

Since he came on as coach, Thibodeau …

Since he came on as coach, Thibodeau has been consulted on personnel moves. Some people who have done business with the team in the past year believe Wesley and Brock Aller – the club’s vice president of basketball and strategic planning — have significant input on team decisions. Thibodeau’s opinion is considered, they say, but management has made several significant personnel decisions that didn’t align with Thibodeau’s thinking.

But what does it mean when the Knicks …

But what does it mean when the Knicks and Lakers are said to be worth more than $5 billion? Here’s a look behind the curtain. (Representatives for the two franchises did not respond to requests for comment.) What is a valuation, exactly? In the most basic terms: It is an estimate of how much a team would sell for if it was on the market. But it is nothing more than an educated guess. “At the end of the day, we’re estimating what a private enterprise is worth,” said Kurt Badenhausen, a sports valuations reporter at Sportico. “No different than estimating what the value of your house is worth.”

A Knicks fan got kicked out of Madison Square Garden for wearing a ‘Ban Dolan’ shirt

Of course.

The New York Knicks are enjoying their best season in years, and by that, I mean the Knicks are sitting at .500 and in playoff contention.

But that newfound success hasn’t exactly changed how Knicks owner James Dolan responds to criticism.

Video hit social media on Tuesday night, showing a fan getting confronted by Madison Square Garden security over his T-shirt, which read, “Ban Dolan.” The video showed two arena personnel asking the fan if he would be willing to cover up the shirt as it violated arena policies. They offered to provide him a free Knicks shirt in order to stay at the game, but once the fan declined, he was escorted out.

So, there are a few ways to look at this situation. The first, it’s pretty lame that the owner of the New York Knicks is still out there ejecting fans who criticize him or display their displeasure. The shirt wasn’t inflammatory — it just said “Ban Dolan.”

The second: Security handled that situation about as well as you could hope for from an owner who kicks people out for “Ban Dolan” shirts. They accurately explained to the fan that it wasn’t a First Amendment issue and that a private arena can enforce a dress code/conduct policy. And they didn’t just throw the fan out — they gave him a chance to cover up the shirt, wished him happy birthday and were willing to provide him a *free* shirt.

That’s not the worst deal.

In a statement to the New York Post, MSG said:

“Our policy is and will continue to be that if you are disrespectful to anyone in our venues, we will ask you to leave.”

But come on, just let him wear the shirt.
