Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class is taking shape this offseason, as coach Mike Elko and his staff hosted a talented list of 2026 and 2027 prospects, including the No. 1-ranked recruit in the 2026 cycle, five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, and five-star OT Immanuel Ihenacho.
Outside of hosting Penn State transfer wide receiver Harrison Wallace this weekend, Elko has received an upcoming visit from 2026 four-star edge Jamarion Carlton. Carlton was slated to visit Florida State but changed his plans at the last minute.
So far, four-star Jordan Carter is the only edge commitment, and while rival Texas is predicted to land Jamarion Carlton, this weekend means the Aggies are officially in play.
On tape, Carlton, entering his senior year at Temple (TX) HS, is coming off his most productive season yet, producing 57 tackles, five sacks, and 11 tackles for loss, paired with a forced fumble.
Standing at 6-5 and nearly 240 pounds, Carlton could continue to thrive as an edge or move inside at defensive tackle at the next level.
According to 247Sports, Carlton is currently positioned as the 53rd-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 5th-ranked defensive lineman, and the 8th-ranked prospect in Texas.
Change of plans this weekend for 2026 4-star EDGE Jamarion Carlton… He planned to visit Florida State, but instead will be back in College Station to visit Texas A&M. https://t.co/v1tRDM8Ayl pic.twitter.com/rgo0qLkp5V
