Quandre Diggs and DK Metcalf disagreed with this take on Jamal Adams

Jamal Adams won’t be around when the Seahawks start their OTAs next week.

Jamal Adams won’t be around when the Seahawks start their OTAs next week. Adams is still rehabbing the torn quad he suffered in Week 1 against the Broncos and the team brass says they don’t know when he will be returning, exactly.

Some folks think that Adams should be at the VMAC, though: namely former Seahawks/Washington QB Brock Huard, who shared a video explaining why.

Two of Adams’ teammates seem to disagree. First, free safety Quandre Diggs shared the story with a message that Adams sticking to his routine is more important than being present for non-contact practices.

Star wide receiver DK Metcalf shared an RT of Diggs’ sentiment.

Later, Diggs elaborated, saying Adams’ teammates understand why he won’t be around next week.

While it’s a bummer to have that much money on the sidelines, we’ll defer to Diggs and DK on this one, especially considering Adams broke his finger in a freak accident during the team’s first training camp practice of 2022. The Seahawks are stuck with Adams, so they need to keep him healthy as long as they can until the regular season begins.

Seahawks SS Jamal Adams shares more rehab videos and inspiration

He shared another batch of videos yesterday, along with the obligatory inspirational quote.

The Seahawks defense never reached its full potential last season for a lot of reasons. One of the biggest factors was the absence of strong safety Jamal Adams, who is arguably their most-talented defensive player.

Adams suffered a torn quad just 15 snaps into the season, landing him on the injured reserve list for the rest of the year. Ever since Adams has been sharing updates on his rehab on Twitter. He shared another batch of videos yesterday, along with the obligatory inspirational quote.

Adam’s injury issues have soured him with many Seahawks fans. However, he’s still only 27 years old.

Jamal Adams shares videos of rehab process for his quad injury

This week he shared a few videos on his Twitter page of the rehab process.

Seahawks strong safety Jamal Adams‘ 2022 season ended almost before it could even begin. Adams kicked off the campaign on a tear in Week 1 against the Broncos, but he only played 15 snaps before suffering a major quad injury that forced him to have surgery and go on injured reserve.

Good news: Adams appears to be making progress. This week he shared a few videos on his Twitter page of the rehab process.

Adams has appeared in 25 games for Seattle since getting traded from the Jets. By the end of the regular season he will also have missed 25 games due to injuries.

According to Tom Pelissero at NFL Network, Adams has been fined over $10,000 for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

Jamal Adams doubtful to return after being carted off to locker room with knee injury

The team is saying Adams is doubtful to return with a knee injury.

Jamal Adams’ time with the Seahawks has been an unqualified disaster. From the extremely ill-advised trade that brought him here, to the underwhelming play, the over-extended contract and the frequent injuries, there just hasn’t been anything to get excited about for Seattle fans.

Now it seems Adams’ bad luck has carried over into the 2022 season. After coming up limp following a blitz attempt against Russell Wilson, Adams was carted off to the locker room.

The team is saying Adams is doubtful to return with a knee injury.

Adams missed four games each of the last two seasons due to shoulder injuries and is currently wearing a cast on his left hand after breaking his middle finger on a helmet the first day of training camp.

Jamal Adams: Details on how Seahawks safety broke his finger

Apparently Adams got his finger caught in another player’s helmet, which led to the injury.

Seahawks strong safety Jamal Adams broke his finger again on Wednesday during the team’s first training camp practice of the year. Adam Jude at the Seattle Times broke the story yesterday, describing it as a freak accident.

Apparently what happened is Adams got his finger caught in another player’s helmet, which led to the injury. According to a report by Ian Rapoport at NFL Network, Adams will be wearing a club during practice and a special cast during games this year. If he elects to have surgery it will not happen until this coming season is over.

Adams missed four games each of the last two seasons in Seattle due to a variety of upper body injuries, including both of his hands and his shoulder. He signed a four-year, $70 million extension last summer that made him the highest-paid player in the NFL at his position.

Adams is just 26 years old.

Jamal Adams shares inspirational words, photos from shoulder rehab

Jamal Adams shares inspirational words, photos from shoulder rehab

The Seahawks will be finishing out the 2021 season without a couple of crucial pieces from their secondary. Rookie cornerback Tre Brown is done for the year due to a knee injury that required surgery. Star strong safety Jamal Adams is in the same boat after he re-aggravated his shoulder injury from last year. He also underwent surgery recently.

We hadn’t heard anything from Adams since then until today, when he shared some inspirational words and a few photos from his rehab work on Twitter.

Adams has played 24 games in a Seattle uniform since coming over in the highly-regrettable trade with the Jets. He’s totaled 170 tackles (including 15 for a loss), 16 quarterback hits, two interceptions, eight passes defensed and 9.5 sacks – although all of them came during the 2020 season.

The trade to get him may have been indefensible, but the Seahawks defense still got a rare and unique talent. Here’s to hoping they can find new ways to take advantage of his pass-rushing skills while hiding his occasional lapses in coverage more effectively next year.

Jets S Jamal Adams won’t rush back from ankle injury

Jest safety Jamal Davis will likely be out on Sunday against the Dolphins with an ankle sprain.

Jets safety Jamal Adams will likely miss his first NFL game on Sunday against the Dolphins.

Adams suffered an ankle sprain last week early in the game against the Bengals but played through it. He was in a walking boot after the game. On Monday, an MRI revealed that Adams sprained his ankle and he is now week-to-week.

Now, Adams won’t put himself on the field until he feels he is fully ready.

“I’m not going to get out there until I’m myself,” Adams told reporters. “I don’t know when that is. We’re not going to put a timetable on it.”

Adam Gase said on Tuesday that it is not a high-ankle sprain, so it’s not as bad as it could’ve been. Given how much Adams moves around the line of scrimmage, though, he can’t afford to play on a bum ankle. The burst that Adams gets is one of the reasons why he is so explosive around the football.

Keep in mind that Adams is also eligible for a massive payday this offseason, so there’s no sense in him rushing back.

It’s been another amazing year for the third-year safety, as he leads the team in most defensive statistics. Adams is the team leader in tackles (64), sacks (6.5), tackles for loss (11.5), pass defenses (6) and forced fumbles (2).

With Adams likely down for Sunday, the Jets will turn to backup safety Blake Countess. They also claimed Bennett Jackson off waivers this week, so he could see some playing time as well.

Tearful Jamal Adams in walking boot after loss to Bengals

Jamal Adams has a walking boot on his left foot after the Jets’ loss to the Bengals.

If losing to the Bengals wasn’t bad enough for the Jets, they endured an injury to their best player.

Jamal Adams entered the locker room with a walking boot on his left foot after Sunday’s 22-6 loss to the Bengals. Adams said after the game that he injured it on the first series of the game but played through it. Adams was ineffective, as he only recorded one tackle for the game.

Adams, tearful while speaking to reporters, said he’s not sure what the severity of the injury is. Adam Gase didn’t mention anything after the game about Adams getting hurt.

The 23-year-old safety has been on a tear over the last few games, Sunday’s performance was one of his worst to date. On the season, Adams has 64 combined tackles, 6.5 sacks, six pass defenses and one interception.

The Jets can’t afford to be without their star safety. He is the heart and soul of this team. Meanwhile, the defense has been hit with enough injuries that they’re running out of healthy bodies.

We’ll have to wait and see what Adams’ injury is, but he’ll likely get an MRI to see what is going on with that left foot. Until then, his status for the rest of the season remains in question.
