Darius Slay finally got Jalen Hurts to make a mistake, and his break on the interception that stopped the Eagles’ quarterback streak of attempts without a turnover was beautiful.
According to 94 WIP’s Eliot Shorr-Parks, who tracks every throw from the starting quarterback, Hurts set the Eagles training camp record for consecutive passes without an interception at 158.
That streak went on for another week and ended with pass No. 305.

The reaction from Eagles defenders on the video proves just how dominant Hurts has been this summer. When Slay stepped in front of that pass and was off to the races, defensive players celebrated and jumped for joy.
“We’re talking about practice,” but Hurts’s efficient play was noticed by Offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, who raved about his quarterback’s aggressiveness while making good decisions.
Jalen Hurts was among the league leaders in turnovers last season, accounting for 20 total turnovers, including 15 interceptions in 17 games.
The lackluster performance and the Eagles’ late-season collapse resulted in Kellen Moore replacing Brian Johnson as offensive coordinator. Hurts spent the off-season and spring retooling his throwing motion and enhancing his decision-making.
