Georgia’s Jalen Carter leads all P5 DTs in this stat

Georgia DL Jalen Carter is poised for a breakout year.

Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter returns in 2022 as one of the top players in all of college football. The junior is rated as high as No. 3 on NFL draft boards and will help lead a UGA defense that lost eight starters to the draft, including two defensive lineman.

Carter, a Apopka, Fla., native, finished 2nd on the team in tackles for loss (8.5) and quarterback pressures (33), and blocked two field goals, including one in the national title game.

Carter’s explosion and hand talent have made him one of the top pass rushing tackles in college football.

Pro Football Focus (PFF) has Carter 1st among all defensive tackles in win rate (18.9%).

It’s plays like these that makes Carter look like a man amongst boys.

PFF: Georgia’s Jalen Carter is top returning DL in football

Jalen Carter will be a force next season…

Georgia is losing most of its production from 2021’s record-breaking defense, but that doesn’t include sophomore defensive tackle Jalen Carter.

The Coaches’ All-SEC second team selection made his impact felt even while playing along side two of the top defensive lineman in the country in All-American Jordan Davis and All-SEC first team Devonte Wyatt.

The former five-star recruit will be a key piece of Georgia’s new-look defense in the fall.

Pro Football Focus (PFF) named Carter the top returning interior defensive line in all of football.

Here’s an example of just how destructive Carter can be to opposing offenses.

Pair Carter with returning defensive playmakers Robert Beal Jr., Nolan Smith, Christopher Smith, Tykee Smith and Kelee Ringo, and the Bulldogs look to have another lock down defense on the way this fall.
