USC strikes back, flips four-star Georgia commit

The Georgia Bulldogs have lost a commitment from a four-star linebacker in the class of 2025

After flipping one of the Trojans’ top commits in the class of 2026, the Georgia Bulldogs found themselves on the other side of a decommitment on Tuesday. Four-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte announced via X, formerly known as Twitter, that he had joined Lincoln Riley and Southern California’s 2025 class after being committed to the Bulldogs since December of 2022.

Perlotte is listed at 6-foot-3, 202 pounds, and is originally from Buford, Georgia. He is the 118th ranked player in the nation and the 16th ranked linebacker according to 247Sports. Playing at Buford High last season, Perlotte totaled 55 tackles, eight tackles-for-loss, two sacks, and an interception.

Perlotte had been projected to flip his commitment to Tennessee previously before affirming his commitment to Southern California. Perlotte departing leaves the Bulldogs with one linebacker commit in five-star Zayden Walker. With the addition of Perlotte, the USC Trojans rose to the 25th overall recruiting ranking in the nation, while the Bulldogs remained set at third, trailing only Alabama and Ohio State.

USC flips 2025 four-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte from Georgia

USC hits back at Georgia and brings in a very highly-rated player.

A day after having 2026 cornerback Dominick Kelly flip to Georgia, USC returned the favor with four-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte decommitting from the Bulldogs and giving his commitment to the Trojans.

Perlotte is a 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker who will add speed and toughness to a future USC defense. The value of landing Perlotte is significant in and of itself, but there’s a layer of meaning beyond the addition of a highly-rated player. The Trojans have been hit hard by Kirby Smart, Donte Williams, and the rest of the Georgia football coaching staff on the recruiting trail, and the loss of commits to Georgia has raised fresh questions about USC’s NIL operation. However, USC — instead of wilting in the face of Kirby’s Georgia juggernaut — has continued to go back into the belly of the beast and win some recruitments, including some flips. The Trojans are trying, and in some cases they are succeeding. Don’t think that won’t turn some heads on the recruiting trail. Don’t think that won’t underscore some truths about the quality of this new defensive coaching staff Lincoln Riley has assembled. These guys have real credibility in a way Alex Grinch never had. It matters.

Four-star Georgia commit projected to flip to Tennessee

The Tennessee Volunteers are expected to flip a top linebacker currently committed to the Georgia Bulldogs.

After a very strong month of June on the recruiting trail, the Georgia Bulldogs may be on the verge of losing a longtime commit in the class of 2025. On3’s Chad Simmons logged a projection for four-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte to flip to the Tennessee Volunteers after being committed to the Bulldogs since December 2022.

Perlotte is listed at 6 feet, 3 inches and 210 pounds. He plays at Buford High School in Buford, Georgia. He recorded 55 tackles and 8 tackles-for-loss a season ago and is rated the 15th-best linebacker in the nation and 13th-best player in the Georgia.

Perlotte made an official visit to Tennessee on June 14, one of four visits he took that month. Perlotte also visited Alabama, Miami and Georgia (June 21). Should he join the Volunteers, he would be their highest-ranked defensive recruit in the 2025 class. He is one of two linebackers committed to the Dawgs at this moment; the other is five-star Zayden Walker.

This is not the first time Perlotte has been projected to flip his commitment. It was predicted last year that Florida State would land him before he removed the Seminoles from his recruiting process.

Four-star Georgia linebacker commit visiting Alabama

Four-star Buford standout, Georgia linebacker commit sets June official visit with Alabama football

Elite linebacker recruit Jadon Perlotte plans to take an official visit to Alabama on June 14. Alabama is looking to pry away Perlotte, who has been committed to the Georgia Bulldogs since Dec. 2022.

In the fall of 2023, the four-star linebacker was projected to flip his commitment to the Florida State Seminoles. However, Perlotte previously told On3, “I dropped Florida State, so I’m not even looking at them anymore.”

Perlotte plays football for Buford High School in Buford, Georgia. Buford is one of the premier high school football programs in the country. Perlotte played alongside Georgia freshman safety KJ Bolden during the 2023 football season at Buford. Perlotte plays both linebacker and safety and the high school level and has excellent versatility.

The four-star, who grew up a Georgia fan, is the No. 92 recruit nationally and the No. 13 recruit in Georgia in the class of 2025. The elite linebacker is the No. 12 player at his position. Georgia currently has eight commitments in the class of 2025 and the nation’s No. 11 recruiting class.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound linebacker runs track and has committed to playing in the 2025 All-American Bowl. Perlotte’s brother, Jordan, plays college football for Wofford. Kirby Smart and Georgia signed the top recruiting class in the nation in the 2024 recruiting cycle.

Four-star Georgia linebacker commit no longer considering Florida State

Four-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte, who was projected to commit to Florida State several months ago is no longer considering the Seminoles.

Elite linebacker recruit Jadon Perlotte has been committed to the Georgia Bulldogs since December 2022. Several months ago, the four-star linebacker was projected to flip his commitment to the Florida State Seminoles. Now, Perlotte is no longer considering Florida State.

Perlotte told On3, “I dropped Florida State, so I’m not even looking at them anymore.”

Perlotte plays football for Buford High School in Buford, Georgia. Buford is one of the top high school football programs in the country. Perlotte played alongside elite Georgia signee KJ Bolden this past season at Buford.

The four-star, who grew up a Georgia fan, is the No. 54 recruit nationally and the No. 8 recruit in Georgia in the class of 2025. The elite linebacker is the sixth-ranked player at his position.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound linebacker runs track and has committed to playing in the 2025 All-American Bowl. Perlotte’s brother, Jordan, plays college football for Wofford. Kirby Smart and Georgia have the top recruiting class in the nation in the 2024 recruiting cycle ahead of national signing day.

Four-star Georgia commit visits Auburn, DJ Durkin on Sunday

Jadon Perlotte’s relationship with new defensive coordinator DJ Durkin may help the Tigers chances to flip from rival Georgia.

Auburn has been high on the radar of four-star linebacker [autotag]Jadon Perlotte[/autotag] for quite some time. Their stock has risen now that they have tabbed [autotag]DJ Durkin[/autotag] as the new defensive coordinator.

Perlotte, a Georgia pledge since December of 2022, visited Auburn on Sunday for the seventh time since the 2022 football season. One of the main reasons for his visit was to catch up with Durkin, a coach who recruited him heavily during his days at Texas A&M.

Perlotte tells Caleb Jones of Rivals that Durkin sees Perlotte as a player who can be the “quarterback of the defense.” He also says that his experience as a coach intrigues him.

“(Durkin) bringing his knowledge down here is just a big deal for me,” Perlotte said in an interview with Rivals. “We went through a lot of film. He knows what he’s talking about. His backers are very versatile and the next level is the league, that’s where I wanna be at.”

Georgia is the frontrunner at this time, but Auburn and Florida State remain high in the chase. His high school teammate at Buford, [autotag]KJ Bolden[/autotag], signed with Georgia during the early signing period, which is important due to a quote published by Sports Illustrated last August which he stated that he and Bolden were a “package deal.”

“I’ve got to play with him,” Perlotte said in August. “Nobody has scored, pass-wise, on our side 1-2 during our whole high school careers. I’ve got to play with KJ (Bolden). Our package is just different.”

Perlotte is the No. 3 linebacker for the 2025 cycle and is the No. 25 overall player for the recruiting class. Perlotte says that he plans to visit Auburn more this year, including several times during the spring practice period.

Georgia-based four-star LB will be at the Florida-Florida State game

Georgia-based four-star line backer will be at the Florida-Florida State game

The Florida Gators have been hot on the recruiting trail as of late and head coach Billy Napier doesn’t look like he intends to slow down anytime soon.

A Georgia-based high school linebacker talked to Gators Online recently and announced that he’ll be attending the in-state rivalry battle between the Florida Gators and Florida State Seminoles.

Class of 2025 four-star [autotag]Jadon Perlotte[/autotag] is a “hard-commit” to the Georgia Bulldogs, but it appears the Seminoles are in contact with the Buford, Georgia, native and trying to flip the young prospect before next season.

With any extra luck, Napier can also swoop into the conversation to pull off a heist for his 2025 class of recruits.

It will be Perlotte’s second visit to Gainesville this year, his last one happened in mid-April. The 2025 prospect toured the new Heavener football facility and liked what he had to see.

Perlotte talked to Gators Online after his spring visit.

“I liked the new facility,” Perlotte said. “The last time I was there, they were building the facility and walking through with hard hats. When we walked through housing, it looked like just how they said it was going to look like. It’s amazing; it was something I’ve never seen before.”

The four-star also had lengthy conversations with some members of the UF coaching staff, and sometimes still talks to linebackers coach Jay Bateman.

“(The visit) went really good. I came down with my boys,” Perlotte said. “We saw the facilities and walked around. Coach Bateman, the linebackers coach, showed a lot of love. He keeps in touch with me a lot. We always talk to each other. He helped coach my head coach, so we kind of have ties going back. He’s been up there to watch me a couple of times as well.”

Perlotte is a 6-foot-3-inch, 200-pound linebacker for Buford High School, ranking at No. 56 overall and is No. 10 at his position. The 247Sports crystal ball predicts Perlotte flipping to FSU come next year.
