4-star OT Isaiah Garcia puts Ducks among top schools

4-star OT Isaiah Garcia puts Ducks among top schools.

If things break the right way over the next few months,  A’lique Terry could be bringing in an elite haul of offensive linemen — tackles in particular — during his first year recruiting as the Oregon Ducks offensive line coach.

The Ducks already have 4-star Fox Crader, 3-star Devin Brooks, and 3-star Trent Ferguson in the fold, and they are in a great spot to add 5-star Brandon Baker and 4-star JacQawn McRoy over the coming weeks as well. The Ducks are also favored to land 4-star Preston Taumua as well.

Now they can add 4-star OT Isaiah Garcia to the list of potential additions as well. Garcia announced his final four schools on Wednesday, including the Ducks alongside the likes of USC, Utah, and Stanford. The Utes currently hold the only Crystal Ball for Garcia on 247Sports, while Stanford has a commanding lead in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

Garcia is rated by 247Sports as the No. 19 OT and No. 219 overall player in the 2024 class.

A lot of names are expected to come off the board throughout the month of July, so we will see where the Ducks can pick up a few players and fortify their front line for the future.

2024 4-Star OL Grant Brix predicted to land with the Oklahoma Sooners

The Oklahoma Sooners received a Rivals FutureCast for 2024 4-Star OL Grant Brix from @ParkerThune of @OUInsider.

The Oklahoma Sooners have been picking up momentum on the recruiting trail with regards to its offensive line search. They’ve been included in cutdown lists for blue-chip prospects [autotag]Liam Andrews[/autotag] and [autotag]Isaiah Garcia[/autotag].

Though those players may be trending elsewhere, the Sooners look like they’re trending in the right direction for four-star offensive lineman Grant Brix.

Brix, who hails from Logan, Iowa, is a top 15 interior offensive line prospect according to 247Sports and On3. He has 23 Power Five offers, including the likes of powerhouse offensive line schools like Wisconsin, Penn State, and Notre Dame.

While being included as an interior offensive lineman in the class, he has the size that could allow him to bump out to tackle as well.

Despite his 6-foot-6 frame, Brix does a great job gaining leverage on shorter defensive linemen. He’s a physical player that displays burst off the line of scrimmage and a desire to finish every opponent. Brix moves well getting to the second level.

The Oklahoma Sooners look to be the leader in this recruitment at the moment, but given the list of schools in pursuit, this is a recruitment that could go on for some time.

Projections

  • Parker Thune of OUInsiders at Rivals issued a prediction on June 2 favoring the Sooners.
  • On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine still favors Kansas State and Nebraska ahead of the Sooners.

Moves his feet tremendously well to stay in front of pass rushers. Seamlessly shifts weight to stay balanced at the point of attack. Flashes great flexibility and bend. Shows good hand violence to neutralize defenders. Could continue to improve as a run blocker and maintaining pad leverage. Potential multi-year starter at elite Power Five level.”

The Alabama coaching staff extended its latest offer to 2024 offensive tackle Isaiah Garcia.

Garcia plays for Cyprus High School in Magna, Utah. In his junior highlight tape, Garcia seems to have a lot of success in pass protection. He is very physical at the point of attack and does a good job of finishing blocks.

At 6-foot-5, 280 pounds, Garcia would likely have to put on some weight to play offensive tackle at the next level. If not, he would likely play along the interior of the offensive line.

Thus far, Garcia has taken unofficial visits to Utah, UCLA, USC, Washington, and Oregon.

Two crystal ball predictions have been placed in favor of Utah for Garcia’s commitment.
