Isaiah Crumpler talks Rutgers football official visit

Rutgers football commit Isaiah Crumpler discusses his official visit this past weekend.

For Isaiah Crumpler, this past weekend’s official visit to Rutgers football only reinforced in his mind that he made the right decision to commit last month to the Big Ten program.

Crumpler, a four-star recruit according to On3, saw this weekend’s official visit as validation about his decision to commit to Rutgers. a 6-foot, 170-pound athlete from D.H. Conley School (Greenville, N.C.), Crumpler was thrilled by not just the chance to get on campus and bond with the coaching staff but also the direction of the program.

On Monday, the class of 2024 commit talked about the official visit to Rutgers and what stood out.

“The visit was the best – went to New York City, ate a lot of food, hung out with the team. It was an electrifying visit,” Crumpler said.

“(Rutgers) Just keeps getting better and better.”

As for reinforcing his decision, Crumpler said that the weekend affirmed to him why he picked Rutgers. He held offers from Duke, East Carolina and Charlotte.

According to On3, Crumpler is the fifth-best player in North Carolina.

“I feel great about it, nothing has changed my mind. It only has gotten better since the first day I got the offer,” Crumpler said.

It was a busy three days for Rutgers football, as they hosted a number of top recruits including several four-stars.

The weekend was a solid one for Rutgers. Three commitments came in, all from Florida athletes: Raynor Andrews (offensive tackle), Tyclean Luman (defensive end) and Tycoolhill Luman (defensive end).

The trio all attend Norland High School (Miami, FL) and are consensus three-star recruits.

“It’s amazing, I hope recruits keep noticing what we are trying to do at Rutgers,” Crumpler said.
