Breaking: Four-star Isaiah Crumpler commits to Rutgers football

Isaiah Crumpler commits to Rutgers football on Friday night.

Four-star wide receiver Isaiah Crumpler committed to Rutgers football on Friday night. It is yet another significant commitment for the Scarlet Knights on the offensive side of the ball.

The North Carolina athlete held one other Power Five offer from Duke.

Last year, the 6-foot-5, 175-pound wide receiver had 55 catches for 614 yards with five touchdowns for D.H. Conley (Greenville, N.C.). a three-star recruit according to On3.

He is also the fifth-best recruit in North Carolina per the On3 rankings and No. 157 in their national rankings.

Crumpler recently told Rutgers Wire that he is planning his official visit to Rutgers for June.

He posted his announcement on social media on Friday night:

What is most impressive about Crumpler’s play is that as a wide receiver, he has tremendous breakaway speed coupled with strength and elusiveness. His highlight film is consistently one big play after another.

But that leads to the bigger point that as good as Crumpler is as a wide receiver, and he has tremendous talent, he is equally as good as a defensive back.

Playing as a safety, Crumpler is a ballhawk who is very strong against the road. He has a nose for the ball but also delivers a strong, instinctive hit in run defense.

Rutgers now stands at eight commits as part of their 2024 recruiting class with six of those verbals on the offensive side of the ball. The last two recruits have come this week and were both tight ends: Monte Keener from Michigan and Matthew Ogunniyi from Maryland.
