Colts sign G Dakoda Shepley to practice squad

The Colts brought G Dakoda Shepley back to the practice squad.

The Indianapolis Colts signed guard Dakoda Shepley to the practice squad and placed cornerback Isaac Taylor-Stuart on the practice squad injured list, the team announced Thursday.

The injury that landed Taylor-Stuart on this list was not disclosed so it is unclear how long he will be on the list.

The Colts used that open spot to bring in some depth to the offensive line. As center Ryan Kelly (concussion) and guard Quenton Nelson (toe) are dealing with injuries, Shepley can provide depth at both positions.

There’s a good chance the Colts will be without Kelly this week as he’s in the concussion protocol. He was replaced by second-year undrafted free agent Wesley French. The Colts also signed Arlington Hambright to the active roster earlier this week from the practice squad for more interior depth.

Colts waive RB Jake Funk, CB Isaac Taylor-Stuart

The Colts waived RB Jake Funk and CB Isaac Taylor-Stuart.

The Indianapolis Colts are waiving running back Jake Funk and cornerback Isaac Taylor-Stuart ahead of Tuesday’s deadline for roster cuts.

Funk was competing for the final spot in the running back room and even though he led the way with two rushing touchdowns, he averaged just 3.2 yards per carry on 17 carries during the preseason. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network first reported that roster move.

Taylor-Stuart was a late addition to the cornerback room, joining the team at the beginning of training camp. It was a long shot for him to make the roster considering how crowded the cornerback room is. Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star first reported that news.

The Colts hope to bring both players back to the practice squad if they clear waivers.

The Colts have until Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET to finalize their initial 53-man roster. You can stay up to date with the latest moves via our tracker.

Colts sign CB Isaac Taylor-Stuart

The Colts signed CB Isaac Taylor-Stuart and waived CB Cole Coleman on Friday.

The Indianapolis Colts signed free-agent cornerback Isaac Taylor-Stuart and waived cornerback Cole Coleman, the team announced Friday.

Taylor-Stuart, 23, was an undrafted free-agent rookie who signed with the Dallas Cowboys following the 2022 NFL draft. However, he spent the entire season on the injured reserve list due to an ankle injury.

A product of USC, Taylor-Stuart appeared in 32 games (19 starts) over the course of four seasons (2018-21). He recorded 80 tackles (54 solo), 1.0 tackle for loss, nine passes defensed and two interceptions.

Coleman signed with the Colts as an undrafted free-agent rookie following the 2023 NFL draft.

Cowboys Injury Report: Secondary depth takes blow with Joseph, Mukuamu exits vs Seahawks

Winning isn’t everything, especially in the preseason. With roster cuts looming, injuries in Friday’s win against Seattle could impact moves the club has to make. From @ProfessorO_NFL

The Dallas Cowboys pulled out a gutsy win against the Seattle Seahawks in week 3 of the 2022 preseason.  While the win was nice, one of the main objectives of training camp and preseason is to walk away as healthy as possible.

The Cowboys had fared well in avoiding injuries through their first two preseason games but were not as fortunate tonight. Already dealing with losing their starting left tackle, Tyron Smith, earlier in the week, the Cowboys suffered a slew of injuries against the Seahawks.

With a final roster cutdown from 80 players to 53 looming around the corner, the status of these injuries may have ripple effects that change the decision making of who’s in and who’s out.

Here’s an updated injury report from week 3 based on what we know right now.

Rams 2022 NFL mock draft: Post-combine edition

With the NFL combine wrapped up, here’s an updated projection of what the Rams might do in the 2022 draft

The 2022 NFL Scouting Combine has come to a close in Indianapolis and there were plenty of standout performances. Some prospects were able to improve their draft stock ahead of next month’s draft, while others may have put a dent in their outlook with poor testing numbers.

For the Los Angeles Rams, they have made it a common trend for Sean McVay and Les Snead to stay home instead of attending the combine. Even though the Rams don’t send their head coach and general manager to watch the incoming prospects, they still have their eyes on guys they’ll want to add in the 2022 NFL draft.

Before we get into my updated mock draft for after the combine, you can check out my pre-combine mock draft here so you can see the changes that took place between then and now. And as a reminder, I used The Draft Network’s mock draft machine to compile my mock draft.
