Adam Nightingale has done an outstanding job retooling and rebuilding Michigan State’s roster after taking over for Danton Cole in 2022. It is evident in the way that the Spartans are accumulating NHL draft picks on the roster.

The Spartans are set to have six NHL draftees on their roster as they enter the 2023-24 season, which will be the second for Nightingale as the head man in East Lansing.

Adam Nightingale has landed another huge commitment out of the transfer portal:

Michigan State is continuing its huge offseason with another outstanding addition from the transfer portal. The Spartans have landed a commitment from Isaac Howard through the transfer portal. Howard played one year at the University of Minnesota at Duluth before deciding to transfer.

Howard was selected in the first round of the Tampa Bay Lightning with the 31st pick in the 2022 NHL entry draft. In his one season with Duluth, Howard produced 6 goals and 11 assists.

Howard played for Nightingale with the United States National Development Team prior to his collegiate career. Now they are reuniting.
