Is there a fanbase in America that tailgates better, longer, and in support of their teams more than the fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes? If there is, I am still searching for that fanbase due to how high the Hawkeyes fans have set the bar.
The newest evidence of how supportive Iowa fans are of their athletics and having a good time is the early success of SWARM Golden Ale. The beer was created by Exile Brewing Co. in partnership with Iowa’s SWARM Collective in an effort to raise NIL funds.
Exile Brewing Co. reported that since the beer hit the shelves at the beginning of July, sales have absolutely taken off. With 20% of the revenue heading to the Iowa SWARM Collective, there is plenty of NIL money to go around. In the first month, Exile Brewing Co. has already donated $30,000 back to the SWARM.
Shout out to all the hawks fans who have been throwing back Swarm Golden Ale.
In the first month we were able to donate $30,000 to @IowaSwarm! Larger distribution footprint and more package types are coming đ» pic.twitter.com/zZpuEXuFJR

The most impressive part of this may be that the initial release was only in four packs. The 12-packs are slated to begin hitting the shelves imminently and should continue to see this beer take off. As we near football season, expect another increase in sales as Hawkeye fans buy up SWARM Golden Ale to gear up for tailgates and to continue to support their athletic department.
SWARM Golden Ale is going to be available in Kinnick Stadium and that should mean another skyrocketing of sales as fans can buy it while in attendance. There is also a vodka partnership coming in the near future that will only expand Iowa’s NIL footprint as they are at the forefront of these initiatives.
So, as the saying goes, “In heaven there is no beer, that’s why we drink it here!”
