Iowa State at Kansas odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Iowa State at Kansas odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Kansas Jayhawks (4-0, 1-0 Big 12) welcome the Iowa State Cyclones (3-1m 0-1) to KU Memorial Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Iowa State vs. Kansas odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Jayhawks are one of the nation’s surprise teams this season. They’re among the 21 teams still undefeated. Kansas has taken down Tennessee Tech, West Virginia, Houston and Duke.

It’s led by star QB Jalon Daniels who has 11 touchdowns and 1 interception. He has 890 passing yards and also is the team’s leader on the ground with 320 rushing yards.

Iowa State has also played well this season as well, taking down rival Iowa 10-7 on the road Sept. 10. It also beat SEMO and Ohio with its only loss coming to Baylor 31-24 last Saturday.

RB Jirehl Brock has taken over as the team’s top back for Breece Hall who departed for the NFL. Brock has 353 yards and is averaging 5.5 yards per carry. QB Hunter Dekkers has been underwhelming this season with a 10:5 touchdown to interception ratio.

Iowa State at Kansas picks and predictions

Prediction

Kansas 31, Iowa State 27

Moneyline

SPRINKLE ON KANSAS (+140).

The former 3-star junior Daniels took over the starting job this season, and the Jayhawks haven’t looked back. They’ve scored 48.5 points per game, the 4th most in the NCAA.

While it may seem like an easy schedule is the reason for their success, Houston and West Virginia are actually capable sides. Iowa State’s defense will be their toughest task yet, but Daniels is the star I’d back. Kansas’ offense is dynamic, averaging 7.8 yards per play which is 3rd in the nation.

Iowa State has a terrific defense, but the real question is if its offense can keep up. The Cyclones also allowed Baylor QB Blake Shapen to put up 3 touchdowns and a 71% completion rate. He’s not the threat Daniels is, so the star quarterback should be able to find some holes.

Against the spread

BET KANSAS +3.5 (-122).

I prefer the Kansas moneyline for it to pull off the upset and win at home, but getting 3 points and a hook is a nice addition as well. The Jayhawks have Daniels, and that’s all they really have needed so far this season.

They’ll need their defense to step up, but Dekkers hasn’t been great. He’s thrown 5 interceptions through 4 games, including 2 last Saturday against Baylor, and he just hasn’t taken over a game like Daniels.

I back the better quarterback here.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 58.5 (-110).

I expect Kansas to be able to put some points on the board, but if there’s a part of Iowa State’s team that is legit it is its defense.

Combine that with Dekkers’ struggles with turnovers, and points may be somewhat at a premium. Iowa State is 2-2 O/U while Kansas is 3-1 O/U, but the latter hasn’t played a defense of this caliber yet.

Baylor at Iowa State odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Baylor at Iowa State odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Baylor Bears (2-1) will travel to Jack Trice Stadium to take on the Iowa State Cyclones (3-0). Kickoff is set for noon ET Saturday (ESPN2). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Baylor vs. Iowa State odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Despite a tough road loss to BYU in its 2nd game, the Bears have stayed ranked. It is coming off a 42-7 win over Texas State after opening the season with a 69-10 win over Albany.

Baylor is led by 6-foot redshirt sophomore QB Blake Shapen. It has a plethora of running backs helping lead the backfield with 3 players totaling at least 100 rushing yards through 3 games.

As for Iowa State, its premier win is over rival Iowa. That was a grind-it-out win for the Cyclones as they came out on top 10-7. It beat Ohio 43-10 and Southeast Missouri State 42-10.

Iowa State’s backfield is led by RB Jirehl Brock who has 280 yards and a 5.6 yards per carry average. QB Hunter Dekkers took over as the starter this season and has 8 TDs and 3 INTs.

Baylor is No. 17 in the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Baylor at Iowa State picks and predictions

Prediction

Baylor 24, Iowa State 20

Money line

SPRINKLE BAYLOR +120.

The Bears lost to BYU, but it was a game they had a shot in and arguably should’ve won. On top of that, it was a late game in an environment which could’ve had elevation impacts on Baylor.

While there shouldn’t be any excuses, the reasons for that loss won’t be present here and that helps create value on the money line. Aside from that loss, Baylor has outscored opponents by 94 points in 2 games.

Iowa State has had similar success again non-Power 5 sides, but it put up just 10 points on Iowa. It had under 200 passing yards, and while it did find success on the ground, Brock has just a 3.7 yards per carry average on 27 attempts. It didn’t showcase much success against the Hawkeyes.

Both teams are 2-1 ATS this season.

Against the spread

BET BAYLOR +2.5 (-108).

Baylor was 5-1 ATS last season an underdog while Iowa State was 5-6 ATS as a favorite. While things have changed since a season ago, many of those key players for both sides remain.

The Cyclones do not have a player that’s as dynamic of BYU QB Jaren Hall. There’s no reason the Bears’ defense shouldn’t have far more success in this battle as they’ve kept opponents under 30 points in each of their 3 games.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 45.5 (-108).

Considering Iowa State’s lacking offense against a Power 5 side and Baylor not throwing for more than 200 yards through the air against BYU, it seems likely both sides will power their attack using more running plays. That should drain the clock.

WR Xavier Hutchinson is the only player for either side to have over 35 receiving yards against a Power 5 opponent in the Cyclones’ match against the Hawkeyes.

The aerial attacks aren’t the effective part of both teams’ offenses. This will be a run-heavy game and that should aid the under here.

Both teams are 1-2 O/U so far this season.

Ohio at Iowa State odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Ohio at Iowa State odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Ohio Bobcats (1-1) take on the Iowa State Cyclones (2-0) Saturday at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames, Iowa. Kickoff is at 2 p.m. ET (Big 12 Network and ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Ohio at Iowa State odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Bobcats are coming off of a 46-10 loss at Penn State. As expected, the Bobcats could not keep up against a far superior Big Ten team, but they did have some bright spots. QB Kurtis Rourke passed for 119 yards with no interceptions and RB Sieh Bangura had the Bobcats’ only TD of the day. LB Bryce Houston got to the QB for 1.5 sacks and forced 3 punts. The Bobcats are looking to spring an upset this week against a talented Cyclones team.

The Cyclones squeaked out a 10-7 win against in-state rival Iowa last week. QB Hunter Dekkers passed for 184 yards with 1 TD and 2 INTs and RB Jirehl Brock had 27 carries for 100 yards. The offense converted 10 of 20 third downs but failed to convert their only 4th-down attempt. The Cyclones’ defense held strong with 3 scoreless quarters.

Ohio at Iowa State picks and predictions

Prediction

Iowa State 38, Ohio 17

Money line

PASS. The risk is not worth the reward in this lopsided matchup.

Against the spread

IOWA STATE -18.5 (-110).

The Bobcats are a good team behind Rourke, but against bigger teams, they do not stand much of a chance. They may keep this game close in the first half, but expect the Cyclones to separate themselves in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Iowa State will look to control possessions and dominate a smaller Bobcats defensive line.

Over/Under

OVER 48.5 (-105).

Rourke and the Ohio passing game is sound, even against stronger, bigger schools. The Over will largely depend on how many points the Cyclones score, but expect a lot of points. The Bobcats defense has allowed 702 passing yards and 8 TDs in their first 2 games and until they return to playing schools of their stature, that trend will continue.

Iowa State at Iowa odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Iowa State at Iowa odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Iowa Hawkeyes (1-0) host the Iowa State Cyclones (1-0) at Kinnick Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET (Big Ten Network). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Iowa State at Iowa school odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Both teams will enter undefeated and only will leave that way. For Iowa, it’ll hope to do that at home after a lackluster 7-3 home win over the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. Crazy enough, those 7 points were via 2 safeties and a field goal.

The Iowa offense, led by QB Spencer Petras, did little against SDSU. He threw for 109 yards and 1 interception. Starting RB Leshon Williams did manage 72 yards on the ground.

Iowa State played a bit more exciting Week 1 matchup against Southeast Missouri State. It won 42-10, outscoring the road side 21-0 in the second half.

QB Hunter Dekkers threw for 293 yards and 4 touchdowns. The redshirt sophomore will look to lead Iowa State, a program heavily dependent on RB Breece Hall and the run game last season.

The Hawkeyes lead the all-time in-state series — a battle for the Cy-Hawk Trophy — 46-22. Iowa won last year’s meeting 27-17 and is 6-0 against the Cyclones since 2015.

Iowa State at Iowa picks and predictions

Prediction

Iowa State 20, Iowa 16

Money line

SPRINKLE IOWA STATE (+155).

It’s difficult to back Iowa after its inability to move the ball against South Dakota State. To the Jackrabbits credit, they are 1 of the best FCS schools in the country. However, Iowa State will pose a much tougher test.

Jirehi Brock has taken over for Hall and averaged 6.5 rushing yards per carry in their opener (104 yards on 16 carries) with a TD. Given that this shouldn’t be a blowout, he should see an enhanced workload.

Iowa State hasn’t beaten Iowa since 2014, and this time around, it may have the more talented roster. Iowa’s strength isn’t in the pass game, so if the Cyclones can get up early, the Hawkeyes may struggle to regain that lead.

Against the spread

BET IOWA STATE +3.5 (-115).

Iowa State has had worse teams and kept these games close, so I expect a hard-fought, close battle. The Cyclones have held 2 of their last 4 matchups within 3.5 points.

Considering Iowa really only won in Week 1 due to SDSU errors, the Cyclones should be able to keep things close just by playing smart football, which is did in their opener.

An offensive line with 4 upperclassmen and a 5th-year senior transfer WR (Dimitri Stanley), the Cyclones experience should be a factor as well. This should be a close game, and I’ll take the road dog to cover here.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 40.5 (-110).

Iowa scored 7 points last week and didn’t have an offensive touchdown.

Getting to 41 or more combined will be a tough task. Petras is still under center, and in 12 games last season, he had just 10 touchdowns and 9 interceptions.

The Hawkeyes allowed just over 23 points per game last season which included a 42-3 loss to Michigan. Aside from that, their opponent topped 20 strictly in Big Ten play (and in the Citrus Bowl against Kentucky).

Iowa has played well against non-Big Ten opponents. They haven’t allowed a non-Big Ten opponent to top 20 points in a game that wasn’t a bowl game since 2016 against North Dakota State.

Considering their style of play and the Cyclones potentially run-heavy attack, I’ll take the Under 40.5 (-110) here.

March Madness: Friday’s best NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 underdog upset pick and prediction

Assessing Friday’s NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 betting odds and lines, tabbing the best underdog upset pick and prediction.

Thursday’s Sweet 16 action brought upsets of No. 1 seeds Gonzaga and Arizona. So, who’s next?

After looking at NCAA Tournament odds and lines, here is Friday’s best Sweet 16 upset pick among our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Friday’s games include a blowout favorite (No. 3 seed Purdue by 12.5 points over No. 15 seed St. Peter’s ), a touchdown favorite (No. 1 seed Kansas by 7.5 over fourth-seeded Providence), and two one-possession lines (No. 4 seed UCLA by 2.5 over No. 8 seed North Carolina, and 10th-seeded Miami by 2.5 over No. 11 seed Iowa State ). That final game of the night is the most intriguing, and the mercurial Cyclones make for a solid straight-up upset play.

Iowa State +2.5 (-107) vs. Miami – 8:59 p.m. ET

ISU went 7-11 in a strong Big 12 field during the regular season. The Cyclones were then bounced by current-No. 11 Texas Tech in their league-tourney opener. After a week off, Iowa State returned to action with an 59-54 upset win over analytics darling LSU in the first round of the NCAA Tournament (March 18). The Cyclones then defeated No. 3 seed Wisconsin 54-49 in another low-scoring tussle to advance to this Midwest Region semifinal in Chicago.

Iowa State is certainly no offensive juggernaut. The Cyclones shot 34% over its three postseason games, but they play an elite-level, ballhawking defense. While, Miami does take care of the basketball, it figures to be challenged by this veteran ISU defense, which is adept at creating turnovers. Against very good competition, Iowa State has forced over 15 turnovers per game over its last five.

[tipico]

If ISU can get some turnover-transition buckets and haul down a fair number of offensive rebounds (against a down-trending-on-the-boards Hurricane five), the Cyclones could very well be in front down the stretch. On offense, Iowa State is solid around the rim, and that’s a point of differential in this matchup. UM’s interior defense is nothing special.

The 2021-22 Cyclones have been a team of winning and losing streaks. IOWA STATE IS A SOLID PLAY ATS (+2.5, -107) and on the MONEY LINE (ISU +125).

March Madness: Iowa State vs. Miami odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Iowa State vs. Miami odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The 11-seed Iowa State Cyclones (22-12) play the 10-seed Miami Hurricanes (25-10) Friday in the Sweet 16 of the East Region. Tip-off at the United Center in Chicago is scheduled for 9:59 p.m. ET (TBS). Below, we look at the Iowa State vs. Miami odds and lines, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Both teams are Cinderellastories with Iowa State upsetting the 6-seed LSU Tigers 59-54 in the opening round then beating the 3-seed Wisconsin Badgers 54-49 in the second round. The Cyclones are 13-6 against the spread (ATS) as underdogs and 4-1 ATS in neutral-site games.

Miami beat the 7-seed USC Trojans in a first-round 68-66 nail-biter before hammering the 2-seed Auburn Tigers 79-61 in the Round of 32. The Hurricanes are 8-13 ATS as favorites and 4-4 ATS in neutral-site games.

Iowa State vs. Miami odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Iowa State 66, Miami 62

Money line

SPRINKLE on IOWA STATE (+120)  only because the Cyclones plus the points is the much sharper wager and their defense should give Miami (-145) fits.

Iowa State has the second-best adjusted defensive efficiency out of the 16 remaining NCAA Tournament teams, according to KenPom. Defense is more reliable than offense as teams have off-shooting nights all the time. But, I’d expect a top-ranked defense to be locked in for an elimination game.

Furthermore, Miami’s defense cannot stop a nosebleed and struggle to close out defensive possessions. The Hurricanes are 298th in defensive effective field goal shooting and 265th in defensive rebounding rate.

Essentially, I have more faith that Iowa State’s weak offense can find success against Miami’s terrible defense. However, I cannot say the same about Miami’s offense versus Iowa State’s defense.

Finally, Iowa State played a tougher conference schedule, had five more Quad 1 wins than Miami this season and college basketball guru Ken Pomeroy actually makes the Cyclones a 1-point favorite in his Iowa State-Miami game preview.

Again, I much prefer the Cyclones plus the points, but there’s value on IOWA STATE (+120).

Also seeBet Slippin Podcast‘s March Madness 2022: Sweet 16 betting primer

Against the spread

BET IOWA STATE +2.5 (-110)  instead of or heavier than its ML because the Cyclones’ defense matches up well with Miami’s guard-heavy lineup and the presumed sharp side of the market is backing Iowa State.

According to Tipico, we have a Pros versus Joe’s scenario in the betting market as more than 70% of the bets placed are on Miami -2.5 (-110) but a slight majority of the cash is on IOWA STATE +2.5 (-110).

Typically, in sports betting, it’s profitable to follow the money when it’s opposite the public. Furthermore, Iowa State is the least bet team in all of the eight Sweet 16 games and, generally, that’s where you find value in sports betting.

IOWA STATE PLUS THE POINTS  is my favorite wager in this game.

Over/Under

Slight LEAN to the UNDER 133.5 (-115)  because Iowa State’s defense is elite and the Cyclones are 1-7 O/U in their last eight games versus teams with a 60.0% or better winning percentage.

However, we’d be getting late to the party on the Under since the total opened at 136.5 and all the pro-Under money has caused oddsmakers to lower the total down to the current number.

March Madness: Iowa State vs. Wisconsin odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Iowa State vs. Wisconsin odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The 11-seed Iowa State Cyclones (21-12) face the 3-seed Wisconsin Badgers (25-7) Sunday in a Midwest Region second-round matchup. Tip-off at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee is scheduled for 6:10 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we look at the Iowa State vs. Villanova odds and lines, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Iowa State upset the 6-seed LSU Tigers 59-54 Friday as 3-point underdogs to advance to the Round of 32. Cyclones freshman PG Tyrese Hunter, and Big XII Rookie of the Year, scored a game-high 23 points on 61.5% shooting (7-for-11 from behind the arc) and added 5 steals versus LSU.

Wisconsin defeated the 14-seed Colgate Raiders 67-60 in the first round but failed to cover as 7.5-point favorites. The Badgers outperformed the Raiders in three of the “four factors” and held Colgate to just 38.6% shooting.

Iowa State vs. Wisconsin odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Wisconsin 63, Iowa State 61

Money line

PASS because I have the Badgers advancing to the Sweet 16 but Wisconsin (-190) is way too expensive.

When handicapping Iowa State’s first-round upset of LSU, I mentioned the Cyclones were trying to become the fifth team in NCAA Tournament history to be four games below-.500 in conference play and win its opening-round contest.

The previous four times this happened, the team with the below-.500 conference record to pull off the upset, lost in the second round.

It’s going to be a tight one and perhaps if Iowa State’s ML goes north of +175, I’ll take a stab at it. But, for now, PASS.

Against the spread

BET IOWA STATE +4.5 (-120) because it has the experience and defensive tenacity to keep this game close with Wisconsin -4.5 (-110).

The Cyclones are eighth in KenPom’s adjusted defensive efficiency and the college basketball guru only gives the Badgers a 1-point edge in this matchup. Wisconsin is 295th in 3-point percentage and Iowa State is 16th in defensive 3-point shooting percentage.

Furthermore, Iowa State senior SG Izaiah Brockington was first-team All-Big XII and can trade baskets with Wisconsin’s G Jonathan Davis. In fact, Brockington outshoots Davis from the field and behind the arc and they are tied with a 104.3 offensive rating, per KenPom.

Iowa State also played in a better conference, had a much tougher non-conference schedule and performed well in those games. Both had nine Quad 1 victories but Iowa State is 10-4 ATS in non-conference games with a plus-7.4 ATS margin and Wisconsin is 6-5 ATS with a plus-0.4 ATS margin.

Wisconsin has been steamed up from a 3-point opening favorite to the current number per Pregame.com, and that’s just too much line movement between two evenly matched teams.

BET IOWA STATE +4.5 (-110) for 1 unit.

Over/Under

Slight LEAN to the UNDER 126.5 (-115) because this is a sharp total but Iowa State-Wisconsin could turn into a rock-fight.

Both teams are more efficient on defense than offense, each shoots a low 3-point percentage and plays at a snail’s pace.

A majority of the market is also betting the Over but this total hasn’t budged off the opener per Pregame.com.

Typically a line freeze in the betting market is suspicious because sportsbooks tend to move lines according to their exposure.

However, at the moment, oddsmakers are willing to accept more pro-Over money. As a bettor, you never want to play into the House’s hand.

March Madness: Iowa State vs. LSU odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Iowa State vs. LSU odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The 11-seed Iowa State Cyclones (20-12) tangle with the 6-seed LSU Tigers (22-11) Friday in a Midwest Region first-round game. Tip-off at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. ET (TBS). Below, we look at the Iowa State vs. LSU odds and lines, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings courtesy of the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Iowa State earned an at-large bid to the Big Dance in coach T.J. Otzelberger’s first year on the job because of its quality wins with the 21st-ranked strength of schedule (according to USA TODAY’s Jeff Sagarin).

The Cyclones are 17-15 against the spread (ATS) and they are tied for the fifth-most Quad 1 wins (9-8 overall record in Quad 1 games) with KenPom’s 46th-best adjusted net rating.

LSU fired coach Will Wade last week after allegations of several NCAA violations. The Tigers, who were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the SEC Conference tourney, were also an at-large bid.

The Tigers are 19-14 ATS with the 19th-best adjusted net rating (per KenPom) and Sagarin’s 34th-toughest schedule.

Iowa State vs. LSU odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Iowa State 67, LSU 64

Money line

SPRINKLE on IOWA STATE (+155)  since the Cyclones plus the points is a sharp wager. But there are a couple of systems that give Iowa State a little more value in this spot.

For instance, 6-seeds are just 21-23 straight up (SU) versus 11-seeds since 2010. Also, Iowa State was just 7-11 SU in Big 12 games and there have been four other instances of NCAA Tournament teams four games below-.500 in conference play. Those teams are 4-0 SU in the first round.

Furthermore, Iowa State has a couple of strength-on-weakness edges over LSU. The Cyclones are 16th in defensive 3-point percentage and the Tigers are 268th in 3-point shooting percentage. LSU is 304th in offensive turnover rate (TOV%) whereas Iowa State is sixth in defensive TOV%, per KenPom.

Again, the preferred play is the Cyclones plus the points but I’ll SPRINKLE on IOWA STATE (+155).

Against the spread

Definitely BET IOWA STATE +3.5 (-105)  heavier than or instead of the money line because this is a much better spot for the Cyclones.

Not only does LSU have a worse record versus Quad 1 teams (6-9 SU), but the Tigers have performed much worse in neutral-site games. LSU is just 1-4 ATS in neutral venues (minus-2.1 ATS margin) while Iowa State is 2-1 ATS (plus-9.5). Also, the Tigers are 0-3 ATS as 3-to-4.5-point favorites.

I’m on IOWA STATE +3.5 (-105)  for 1.25 units.

Over/Under

PASS  because the total is a little too low plus these teams shoot so poorly from the field that I have no confidence in the Over either.

If anything, I “lean” Over 127.5 (-112) because both teams’ poor offensive TOV% could lead to easy buckets for their opponents and each has terrible defensive free-throw attempt rates.

But, we’d be getting the worst of the number since the Iowa State-LSU total opened at 125, according to Pregame.com.

Big 12 Tournament: Iowa State vs. Texas Tech odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Iowa State vs. Texas Tech odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 6-seed Iowa State Cyclones (20-11) and No. 3 Texas Tech Red Raiders (23-8) meet in a Big 12 Tournament quarterfinal Thursday. The contest at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City is slated to tip off at 9:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Iowa State vs. Texas Tech odds and lines, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Iowa State sports a below-average Big 12 offense, but the Cyclones are strong at the defensive end. That combination has made for some streaky play, at least in terms of the resulting wins and losses in a 7-11 Big 12 campaign. During that league slate, ISU went 1-1 against the Red Raiders.

Texas Tech also has a strong defense, but the Raiders add to that a solid offensive game, especially in and around the paint. Currently ranked No. 14 in the nation, the Raiders have held opposing teams to a 38.9% mark from the floor in going 8-3 since Jan. 29. TTU went 12-6 in league play.

Rankings courtesy of the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Iowa State vs. Texas Tech odds, spread and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 11:45 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Iowa State +310 (bet $100 to win $310) | Texas Tech -410 (bet $410 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Iowa State +8.5 (-115) | Texas Tech -8.5 (-107)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 125.5 (O: -108 | U: -112)

[tipico]

Iowa State vs. Texas Tech odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Texas Tech 69, Iowa State 59

Money line

PASS. The profit here is looked up in the middle of these prices.

Against the spread

The Raiders lost their last game and are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games following a straight-up loss.

Texas Tech has much the better offense here. Their athletic length makes for a mismatch against the Cyclones.

In its Jan. 5 loss to ISU (51-47), TTU experienced an outlier 41.8% effective field goal mark. The Raiders were coming off a seven-day layoff after having coasted in a pair of holiday-week non-conference games.

The lean here is not a strong one, but it is one on the Raiders getting to a three-of-four-possession game. TAKE TEXAS TECH -8.5 (-107).

Over/Under

This total is the lowest of the three meetings this season. Perimeter shooting doesn’t figure to pile up triples in this contest, but some two-way turnover-transition ball can be expected and Texas Tech has the potential to go big in second-chance and free-throw points.

Again on a slight lean, TAKE THE OVER 125.5 (-108).

Oklahoma State at Iowa State odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Wednesday’s Oklahoma State at Iowa State odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys (13-15, 6-10 Big 12) visit the Iowa State Cyclones (20-9, 7-9) Wednesday at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa. Tip-off for the Big 12 bubble battle is set for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Oklahoma State vs. Iowa State odds and lines, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Oklahoma State has played in three consecutive overtime games. The Cowboys beat Kansas State 82-79 in OT Feb. 19 and then dropped extra-session affairs versus Baylor Feb. 21 (66-64) and at Oklahoma Saturday (66-62). OSU is just 3-8 since Jan. 22.

One of those eight recent losses came against these Cyclones. Iowa State defeated OSU 84-81 in overtime Jan. 26. ISU went on a four-game losing skid shortly thereafter from Feb. 1-12 but has rebounded by winning each of its last four.

Oklahoma State at Iowa State odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Iowa State 69, Oklahoma State 65

Money line

Both teams figure to be on the edge when it comes to getting an NCAA Tournament at-large berth if they don’t win a Big 12 tourney title. Iowa State certainly has the edge in that pursuit, but both fives are vying to have their seasons continue into the back half of this month.

Give Iowa State the nod as the better team and a near-two-thirds win probability for a home contest against Oklahoma State side coming off an emotional loss to Oklahoma and three overtime games in a row. Will OSU have the resiliency to bang around the paint for points in this one? That’s where any Cowboy success will come because ISU plays lockdown perimeter defense.

Consider a line watch here: take Iowa State at at price under -185.

Against the spread

In this series, the favorite is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings. Peg just a sliver of a lean on the CYCLONES -3.5 (-120). Waiting out a better price on the 3.5 points would be wise.

Over/Under

The Over is 5-1 in Iowa State’s last six overall, and that’s the best play in this Wednesday tilt between the Cowboys and Cyclones. The prospect for turnover/transition buckets is especially high.

TAKE THE OVER 130.5 (-115).
