Invicta FC 49 results: Jillian DeCoursey taps Jessica Delboni to claim atomweight title

Jillian DeCoursey claimed the atomweight title by submitting Jessica Delboni in the first round at Invicta FC 49 on Wednesday.

Invicta FC returned to action Wednesday for a seven-fight event featuring an atomweight title bout, and MMA Junkie provided a live stream and official results of the event.

Invicta FC 49 took place at Sugar Creek Casino in Hinton, Okla. In the main event, [autotag]Jessica Delboni[/autotag] sought to defend the atomweight title for the first time against [autotag]Jillian DeCoursey[/autotag]. However, the belt would change hands in the first round.

DeCoursey (6-3) met the aggression of Delboni (12-4) head on, and pulled off a beautiful reversal as her opponent attempted to bring the fight to the ground. DeCoursey found her way to Delboni’s back and locked in an incredibly tight rear-naked choke submission. Delboni fought it off as best she could, but was forced to tap in the closing seconds of the opening round.

Make it two first-round finishes in a row for the new champ DeCoursey, who entered on the heels of an opening-frame TKO stoppage of Lindsey VanZandt at Invicta FC 47 in May.

The co-main event saw the debuting Ketlen Souza (12-3) make it four straight wins by defeating Maiju Suotama(8-7) in a one-sided unanimous decision win in their flyweight contest.

Watch the stream of the full event above and check out the official results below.

Invicta FC 49 fighter Helen Peralta takes shot at Disney in unorthodox weigh-in protest

The year is 2022 and Mickey Mouse is out here catching strays.

“F*ck Disney”

That’s the message (or two of them, rather) [autotag]Helen Peralta[/autotag] displayed at Invicta FC 49 official weigh-ins Tuesday in Hinton, Okla. The method of getting her statement “across” was a bit unorthodox, as she crisscrossed tape with the message written on it – and then stuck them on her breasts.

And apparently, it’s not the first time Peralta has done this. A member of “The Ultimate Fighter, Season 30,” Peralta also did it during her time on the show, though the scene was cut from the final product. This, according to “TUF 30” heavyweight runner-up Zac Pauga, who added the producers had Peralta reenact her weigh-in with a shirt on, as Disney is the parent company of ESPN.

“I’ll give you the background!” Pauga wrote Tuesday on Twitter. “She did this for her fight on TUF 30 but the producers cut it and made her weigh in again after making weight just for the cameras. Funniest moment of the season and they cut it because ESPN is a Disney-owned company.”

As this leaves more questions than answers, MMA Junkie has reached out to Peralta and will update this story to reflect her explanation should she get back to us before her fight.

While we don’t know what triggered this, what we do know is Mickey Mouse is out here catching strays. Never change, MMA. Never change.
