Kickoff delayed for Chiefs’ home-opener vs. Ravens due to inclement weather

Kickoff for the Kansas City #Chiefs’ home-opener against the Baltimore #Ravens was delayed due to inclement weather on Thursday night.

Fans across the country will have to wait a little longer than expected to see the Kansas City Chiefs face the Baltimore Ravens to kick off the NFL’s 2024 regular season after weather caused a brief delay in gameday activities.

Now, the game is set to start at 7:40 P.M. CST. It is unclear if further delays might play a factor in the matchup later in the night, but for now, the weather seems to have passed over Arrowhead Stadium.

Though the delay was inconvenient for fans in attendance for the Week 1 tilt, it could benefit players on both teams to have the field dry out before the action begins.

Expect to see Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Isiah Pacheco feel out the field conditions during Kansas City’s first offensive drive.

If the heavy rain and lightning return late in the game, this regular season kickoff game could be headed for a very interesting ending.

Weather could delay Saturday’s Vikings game against the Denver Broncos

Weather could change the start time for Saturday’s game

The Minnesota Vikings are set to take on the Denver Broncos Saturday night at 8 pm central time at least for the time being.

Pregame warmups were in full force when the players were asked to come off the field due to lightning.

This can be a really scary thing, especially being over 5,000 feet above sea level. This seems to just be a precautionary move as lightning is “in the area” and not imminent at the stadium.

Stay tuned for further news regarding kickoff, as nothing has changed for the time being.
