Joe Reed is a healthy scratch, and Mike Williams is not playing due to an injury. The Chargers promoted Tyron Johnson to fill in as the fifth wide receiver on the depth chart.

Trey Pipkins will start at right tackle while Ryan Groy starts at right guard.

Saints-Panthers inactive report: Kiko Alonso, both starting guards return for Saints

The New Orleans Saints will return Pro Bowl guards Andrus Peat and Larry Warford, and linebacker Kiko Alonso, against the Carolina Panthers.

The New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers submitted their inactive lists ahead of their Week 17 kickoff, signalling the return of Saints Pro Bowl guards Larry Warford and Andrus Peat. Starting linebacker Kiko Alonso will also suit up after missing extended time with a thigh injury, while fullback Zach Line will be sidelined another week.

However, the Saints defense will be running thin in the secondary. Starting safeties Vonn Bell and Marcus Williams are each sitting out with injuries, as is starting cornerback Eli Apple. Fans will get a good look at the depth behind those players, which includes some familiar defensive backs (P.J. Williams, Patrick Robinson, and C.J. Gardner-Johnson) and the best available options (Janoris Jenkins and D.J. Swearinger). It’ll be interesting to see if they can take advantage of inexperienced Panthers quarterback Will Grier.

From the Saints

  • SS Vonn Bell
  • FS Marcus Williams
  • CB Eli Apple
  • FB Zach Line
  • LB Manti Te’o
  • DE Noah Spence
  • OT Ethan Greenidge

From the Panthers

  • WR D.J. Moore
  • LB Shaq Thompson
  • LB/DE Marquis Haynes
  • LB/DE Christian Miller
  • CB Corn Elder
  • OT Matt Kaskey
  • DT Woodrow Hamilton
