Scouting report

Via 247Sports’ Brian Dohn:

Thick build with plus length. Has low center of gravity and plays low to win leverage. Has snaps on both sides of ball as fullback and defensive lineman. Strong, physical, hard-nosed player with strong work ethic. Showed ability to bend during spring workout. Ferocious style of play evident during in-game eval in fall 2021. Gets off quickly at snap and covers ground well in first three steps. Shows stack-and-shed ability. Can take on block and re-direction along line of scrimmage. Can anchor in run game. Willing to take on and fight through double teams. Relies heavily on power and strength and often wins leverage by sinking hips. Plays with high effort and has strong work ethic. Does show rip and spin moves but needs to continue to develop technique and diversify move sets. Has to maintain lower body flexibility while also getting stronger. Multi-year starter at high-level program. Has late round NFL draft potential.

Scouting report

Via Mike Farrell:

WR prospect that plays both ways and has a track background receiving interest throughout the BIG 10 and PAC 12. Solid height and adequate weight in a sturdy frame with good strength, foot speed and agility. Good initial quickness off the snap and very good acceleration on release against off coverage. Eats the ground in a hurry and stresses the set with good knowledge of when to stem routes thanks to his solid processing. Good release against the press, shows good agility and balance to evade contact at the line. Good core and lower body strength to hold his line against man coverage and create a throwing window on deep routes. Very good hands and ability to adjust around his frame due to good balance and body control. Shows good dexterity and extension to secure the ball away from his body. Very good open field ability after catch, uses good fakes and explosiveness to evade and shows good competitive toughness with a willingness to lower his shoulder against tacklers.

Michigan football nets four-star WR commitment in 2024 class

Twitter reactions: Michigan football gains a commitment from 2024 WR I’Marion Stewart

This is a fantastic addition! #GoBlue

The Wolverines added to their already stellar 2024 recruiting class on Friday.

2024 wide receiver, I’Marion Stewart, pledged his commitment to Michigan. The Chicago (Illinois) Kenwood Academy playmaker picked the maize and blue over Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Oregon.

According to the Composite ranking, Stewart is a four-star player, the 318th-ranked prospect, and the 27th-best wide receiver in the 2024 cycle.

With the addition of Stewart, Michigan now has 20 commitments in the 2024 cycle. The No. 2 ranked Wolverines’ recruiting class now also has two wide receivers committed in the cycle. Three-star Channing Goowdwin is also committed to the Wolverines.

After Stewart committed to the maize and blue, we went to Twitter to see what analysts and recruits had to say about the commitment. Here are the best reactions we could find after Stewart pledged to Michigan.

Michigan football nets four-star WR commitment in 2024 class

Huge pickup for #Michigan! #GoBlue

Michigan football already has one pass catcher committed in 2024 in Channing Goodwin — high school teammate of five-star QB commit Jadyn Davis — and is looking for some receivers to join him.

Among the targets are five-star Ryan Wingo, who visited Ann Arbor last weekend, and Jordan Shipp, Davis’ other fellow teammate at Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day. But there’s another — Chicago (Ill.) Kenwood Academy four-star I’Marion Stewart.

Rated as an athlete by 247Sports, Stewart is the No. 318 player in the country, the 27th-best athlete, and seventh-ranked player in the state of Illinois, per the 247Sports Composite.

And on Friday, Stewart committed to Michigan football.

He made the commitment live during the OT7.

Stewart chose Michigan over offers from Wisconsin, Colorado, Georgia, Miami, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Washington, among others.

He’s currently partaking in the OT7 camp in Southern California and was ranked No. 4 after day one, even outperforming Jeremiah Smith, the five-star Ohio State commitment.

A top remaining target for Wisconsin in the class of 2024 will announce his commitment Friday

Wisconsin is in Stewart’s final four schools alongside Michigan, Tennessee and Oregon

Wisconsin’s class of 2024 is starting to round into form after a slew of commits followed the early-June official visit weekends. The class currently ranks No. 13 in 247Sports’ current ranking with 14 total commitments.

Badger fans hope that number grows later this week. As announced today, Wisconsin target four-star wide receiver I’Marion Stewart will announce his commitment Friday at 2 p.m. CST. Stewart is down to a final four list of Wisconsin, Michigan, Tennessee and Oregon.

247Sports’ composite lists the Chicago, Illinois native as the No. 320 player in the class of 2024, the No. 28 athlete and the No. 7 player from the state of Illinois. While Stewart is listed as an ‘athlete,’ many project him to play wide receiver at the college level.

I wrote earlier this week that while Wisconsin’s class of 2024 currently ranks No. 13 in the nation, a lot of work is left before it surpasses the best classes of the Paul Chryst era. Adding a blue-chip player like Stewart would be a great step towards that becoming a reality.

It must be noted 247Sports currently has four crystal ball predictions for Stewart to choose Michigan. We will see if those predictions turn out to be wrong on Friday afternoon.

Michigan football 2024 WR target sets commitment date

Will he end up wearing a winged helmet? #GoBlue

aggieswire.usatoday.comgan football has one wide receiver committed in the 2024 class, is it poised to add another?

Teammate of five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis, Channing Goodwin, committed earlier in the spring, following in his father’s footsteps. But the Wolverines have long been targeting 2024 Chicago (Ill.) Kenwood Academy four-star athlete I’Marion Stewart, who is the No. 318 player in the country according to the 247Sports Composite.

Stewart appears to be favoring the Wolverines or Big Ten West rival Wisconsin, but he’ll be making his college decision public in short order. According to his Instagram Story, Stewart is set to make his college decision on Friday, June 16.

The timing is interesting given that Stewart is set to officially visit Ann Arbor that same day. He officially visited Wisconsin on June 2.

Stewart also has offers from Georgia, Colorado, Miami, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Texas A&M, Washington, among several others.

He currently has four 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions, all indicating he’ll end up wearing maize and blue.
