Three star OL from Illinois commits to Arkansas

Arkansas earns the commitment of three-star lineman Paris Patterson on Independence Day, bringing their 2023 commitment total to 19.

It was a happy Independence Day for head coach [autotag]Sam Pittman[/autotag] and Arkansas Football, as they landed their third commit in the month of July on Monday.

[autotag]Paris Patterson Jr.[/autotag], a 2023 three-star interior offensive lineman from East St. Louis, Missouri, announced on Twitter Monday that he will continue his athletic career post-high school at Arkansas.

In order to land Patterson’s commitment, the Razorbacks’ coaching staff moved quickly. Arkansas extended an offer to Patterson less than two weeks ago, on June 22. Two days after receiving an offer, Patterson took his official visit to Arkansas, then committed just over a week later.

Patterson becomes the fourth offensive lineman to commit to the 2023 class, joining [autotag]Joey Su’a[/autotag], [autotag]Ian Geffrard[/autotag], and [autotag]Luke Brown[/autotag].

Paris Patterson Jr. is a 6-6, 345-pound interior lineman from East St. Louis, Mo. He is ranked as the No. 33 overall interior lineman in the nation, and the No. 8 overall prospect from the state of Illinois. He chose Arkansas over Iowa State, Tennessee, and LSU.

Ian Geffrard calls the Hogs, commits to Arkansas

Ian Geffrard becomes the 14th commit to the 2023 recruiting class, and the third from the state of Georgia.

The nation’s 9th-ranked recruiting class for the 2023 cycle has grown in the form of an offensive lineman.

[autotag]Ian Geffrard[/autotag], a three-star offensive lineman from Mableton. Ga., announced Monday via Twitter that he has pledged to join Sam Pittman’s squad.

Geffrard’s commitment comes after taking his official visit to Arkansas last weekend. He had also taken an official visit to Auburn earlier in the month.

In an interview with 247sports, Geffard says he enjoyed his visit to Fayetteville.

“I enjoy the location and overall scene, even though it is a little far from home,” said Geffrard. “I didn’t talk much with Coach Adams (the defensive line coach) before my official visit, but I spent a lot more time with him and realized I wanted him to be my coach when I play at the next level.”

When it comes down to what ultimately set Arkansas apart, Geffard says that he likes the culture that Pittman has established, and says that he hopes to help grow the recruiting class.

“After seeing what Coach Pittman has done with the program, and seeing how fired up the current players were about it got me motivated to join and recruit to make the team’s class the best in the country.”

Geffrard is a 6-6, 350 offensive tackle that is rated as a three-star by 247sports. He is the No. 97 prospect from the state of Georgia, and the No. 97 offensive tackle in the nation. Geffrard becomes the 14th prospect from the class of 2023 to commit to Arkansas, and the third from the Peach State, joining quarterback [autotag]Malachi Singleton[/autotag] and defensive back [autotag]Everett Roussaw[/autotag].

Offensive line target names Auburn leader after official visit

Auburn impressed offensive lineman Ian Geffrard on his official visit.

Auburn made the most of [autotag]Ian Geffrard[/autotag]’s official visit to the Plains over the weekend. They made such a good impression that he has named them his leader.

Geffrard spoke with Christian Clements of Auburn Undercover after the visit and updated his recruitment.

“After speaking with Coach Harsin and Coach Friend, said that they were interested in me even up to this point still and I’d say they’re probably at the top of my list right now.”

The Mableton, Georgia product has visited Auburn multiple times, and this time was able to spend time with offensive line coach Will Friend off the field.

“Coach Friend, it was fun. I got to know a lot about him and who he was and who he was off the field. Because I’ve seen him on the field, I went to a spring practice one time, so you see him on the field and now off the field. Him and Coach Bernardi. It was fun and interesting to kind of experience and just observe who they were.”

The 6-foot-6, 370-pound Geffrard is a three-star prospect and ranked as the No. 94 offensive tackle in the 247Sports composite ranking. While Auburn may currently be on top, he does not plan on committing until December and they will need to keep focusing on him.

The list of upcoming official visits for Auburn

A huge weekend is on the horizon.

On Wednesday, 2023 offensive tackle Ian Geffrard announced that he would be visiting the Plains from June 3rd-5th. It will be his first official visit since being offered in August of 2021. It will be the third trip that he has taken overall to Auburn.

Geffrard is regarded as a three-star according to 247Sports’ recruiting rankings. He is listed at 6-foot-6 and 350 pounds. Geffrard attends Whitefield Academy in Mableton, Georgia. Several programs that have offered him thus far are Mississippi State, West Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, and Arkansas.

As it stands, the Tigers only have two commitments in their 2023 recruiting class. The two are four-stars Bradyn Joiner and Terrance Love. Joiner, an offensive guard, is the lone offensive lineman in the Tigers class thus far. It is evident that the coaching staff is in search of some protection off the edge. The staff has offered 23 offensive tackles in the class and several of them have already made visits to the Plains. Now, it appears that the Georgia native has become a priority.

Geffrard isn’t the only high-priority target coming to Auburn. The full list of visits coming this weekend:

Huge Georgia OL recaps ‘really fun’ Clemson visit, gives latest on recruitment

The Clemson Insider recently caught up with an offensive lineman in the class of 2023 – Whitfield Academy (Mableton, Ga.) three-star Ian Geffrard. The 6-foot-6, 355-pound junior was in attendance for Clemson’s Orange & White Spring Game at Memorial …

The Clemson Insider recently caught up with an offensive lineman in the class of 2023 — Whitfield Academy (Mableton, Ga.) three-star Ian Geffrard.

The 6-foot-6, 355-pound junior was in attendance for Clemson’s Orange & White Spring Game at Memorial Stadium on April 9 and recapped his experience, while also giving the latest on his current recruitment and where the Tigers stand in the mix of things.

“It was good,” Geffrard said regarding his spring game visit. “It was really family-oriented, that’s one thing my mom really liked about it. I kind of like where the location is. Overall, I really enjoyed the campus.

“I didn’t get to talk much with Coach (Brandon) Streeter or Coach (Thomas) Austin, but overall watching the spring game and interacting with a lot of prospects who have thought about coming to Clemson was really fun to experience.”

Geffrard had gotten to campus a bit later, which is why he didn’t have a lot of time with Clemson’s offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. However, he was able to catch up with them and exchange text messages after the fact.

“They just said they were glad for me to stop by and they asked me how I thought the game was,” Geffrard said. “I thought it was good. It was fun to watch overall.”

Geffrard had previously been in contact with Clemson’s assistant coaches who were looking to get him on campus. It’s likely that he’ll be back in Tiger Town to participate in the Dabo Swinney Camp next month.

Geffrard had camped at Clemson this past summer, but he didn’t have his best day. He enjoyed the drills, as opposed to combine stuff you might see at other camps, but didn’t feel as if he was able to show what he wanted to show.

He’s hoping that could change with another opportunity to camp at Clemson this June.

Geffrard is also hoping that he can further his relationship with Clemson’s offensive line coach, who he’ll keep in contact with so he gets back on campus again sometime in the near future

As far as his recruitment is concerned, Geffrard referred to the process as “surreal.” The offers rolling in was a matter of programs around the country getting ahold of his junior year film and seeing what he was capable of doing.

Geffrard currently holds over 20 offers with his notable ones coming from Power Five programs like Arkansas, Auburn, Boston College, Duke, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Minnesota, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Purdue, Texas and West Virginia.

While he would like to dial things down soon, Geffrard doesn’t plan to have a final decision until at least December or January. Part of that is he’d like to be able to take some gameday visits and experience different atmospheres around the country during the season.
