The Steelers (8-7) square-off against the Ravens (12-3), their AFC North rival, with their playoff hopes on the line. Baltimore won the first matchup of the season  in a 26-23 overtime thriller at Heinz Field back in Week 5 despite three interceptions from quarterback Lamar Jackson. Head Coach Jim Harbaugh has said that he will rest Jackson and a handful of other starters for Sunday’s contest which bodes well for Pittsburgh.

After back-to-back losses to the Bills and Jets, the road to the postseason became more difficult for the Steelers. Mason Rudolph started the contest and completed 14 of 20 passes for 129 yards and one touchdown, but left the game early with a shoulder injury. Devlin Hodges came on in relief and tossed two interceptions. Running back James Conner was held to 32 yards on the ground and wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster had just two catches for 22 yards. The Steelers lack of offense (30th in total yards) has been a problem all year long. If they are able to defeat the Ravens on Sunday afternoon, coupled with a Titans loss to the Texans, Pittsburgh will be the sixth seed and play in a Wild Card game.

While Pittsburgh is fighting for its playoff life, Baltimore is resting easy as the No. 1 seed in the division and has a first-round bye. The Ravens beat the Browns 31-15 behind another spectacular performance from Lamar Jackson. Jackson totaled 238 yards and three touchdowns through the air and 103 yards on the ground. As a team, the Ravens had nearly 250 yards rushing. Mark Andrews led the team in receiving with six catches for 93 yards and two scores. Another former Heisman trophy winner Robert Griffin III will get the start for Baltimore, his first since Week 17 in 2016 when he was a member of the Browns.
