After holding on to tie division foe Indianapolis in Week 1 at home, Houston went on the road as a double-digit underdog (+10.5) in Week 2 and lost to the Denver Broncos 16-9.

The Bears, after beating the 49ers in a downpour in Week 1, went on the road to Green Bay for the Week 2 Sunday night game and lost by 17 points (27-10) as 6.5-point underdogs. Chicago gave up 170 total yards (132 rushing, 38 receiving) and 2 TDs to RB Aaron Jones. Meanwhile, the Bears offense, absent in Week 1, was not much of a threat in Week 2 either, finishing with 228 total yards – just 48 passing.

Both teams have deficiencies on both sides of the ball which could make for a slow game here.

Texans vs. Bears head-to-head

Houston leads the all-time series 4-1, but Chicago won the most recent meeting.

In that last matchup – Week 14 in 2020 – the Bears came out victorious 36-7. At that time, Bears QB Justin Fields and Texans QB Davis Mills were still in college and both coaches, Chicago’s Matt Eberflus and Houston’s Lovie Smith, were elsewhere (defensive coordinator with the Colts and Illinois coach, respectively).

Both teams have bad offenses. This will help make their defenses look better in this game. Scoring will be a premium as expected by the total being at 40.5. A high volume of rushing could be seen in this one which could help this game get done quickly.
