Analyzing Sunday’s Houston Rockets at Sacramento Kings odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Houston Rockets (28-35) and Sacramento Kings (36-26) meet Sunday. Tip-off from Golden 1 Center is set for 6 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Rockets vs. Kings odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Rockets lead 2-0

The Rockets were in trouble early at the Portland Trail Blazers, but Houston managed to outscore Portland 68-44 in the 2nd half to come away with the 123-107 win and the cover as a 6.5-point favorite Friday. It was Houston’s 5th straight cover, and the Over (220) hit for a 2nd consecutive Rockets game after a 5-0-1 run to the Under from Feb. 23-March 5.

The Kings, who were 12-point favorites, barely got by the San Antonio Spurs with a 131-129 home win Thursday as the Over (235.5) cashed. C Domantas Sabonis, who had 31 points, scored the go-ahead dunk with 7.7 seconds left, and the Kings won for a 3rd time in 4 games.

Houston is 2-0 ATS vs. Sacramento this season, and the Over/Under (O/U) has gone 1-1. The Rockets won 122-97 in the most recent meeting Nov. 6 with the Over (217.5) cashing at Toyota Center.

Rockets at Kings picks and predictions

Prediction

Kings 125, Rockets 115

Moneyline

It’s unlikely that the Kings (-275) will lose to Houston for a 3rd straight time this season. However, I can’t recommend risking $275 to win $100.

PASS. Lay the points and/or bet the total instead.

Against the spread

I have no interest in betting Houston in this spot. It trailed by as many as 12 at Portland and should struggle to play a close game against the Kings with double-revenge on their minds.

The Kings are 3-1 straight up in their last 4, and while winning by 2 points when favored by 12 isn’t an impressive performance, they are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games after failing to cover the previous time out. In other words, they bounce back the next game after failing to meet expectations.

BET KINGS -6.5 (-110).

Over/Under

The Over has hit in back-to-back games for both teams, and while that is a small sample size, I just can’t picture either side playing great defense Sunday.

Sacramento has allowed 120 or more in 10 of its last 16 games, and Houston gave up 63 first-half points to the lowly Trail Blazers last time out.

BET OVER 233.5 (-110).

Houston Rockets at Sacramento Kings odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Houston Rockets at Sacramento Kings odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Houston Rockets (10-31) battle the Sacramento Kings (22-18) Friday. Tip from Golden 1 Center is set for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Rockets vs. Kings odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Rockets lost to the Sacramento Kings 135-115 Wednesday, failing to cover as a 9-point road underdog. Houston is just 18-22-1 against the spread (ATS) on the season. It is 4-17 straight up on the road as well. The Rockets are just 1-7 ATS over their last 8 games. They rank dead last in the NBA in field goal percentage (44.3%).

The Kings’ last game was their win over Houston Wednesday. They are 22-18 ATS this season. They are 13-9 straight up at home and 3-2 ATS over their last 5 games yet 3-7 ATS over their last 10. They rank No. 1 in the NBA in points per game (119.2).

Rockets at Kings picks and predictions

Prediction

Kings 125, Rockets 120

Moneyline

PASS.

The Rockets are without their second-leading scorer and just 4-17 on the road this season. Houston at (+350) is the only playable side, and even then, I would avoid the moneyline.

Against the spread

BET ROCKETS +9.5 (-108).

The Kings shot 40% from deep and 84% from the line on 31 attempts compared to Houston, which shot just 17 attempts from the line in the team’s Wednesday battle. Those numbers should even to the Kings Friday.

Sacramento is 7-8 ATS as a home favorite this season, so it hasn’t necessarily been great at home. The Rockets rank No. 1 in offensive rebounding rate yet had fewer offensive boards than the Kings Wednesday.

If the Kings’ shooting comes back to earth and Houston does what it does best, ROCKETS +9.5 (-108) should be a strong play, and beating a team by double digits 2 nights in a row is easier said than done.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 237.5 (-115).

The Kings rank 4th in pace and 4th in field goal percentage, a combination that has led to loads of scoring. They have gone Over in 3 straight games and have scored at least 130 in each of those games. Against a lacking defense, they should again be able to get out and run.

The Rockets rank No. 1 in offensive rebounding rate and No. 17 in pace, so the extra opportunities should be present, and they likely won’t slow the game down either.

Couple the styles of play, and the OVER 237.5 (-115) is the better play.

Houston Rockets at Sacramento Kings odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Houston Rockets at Sacramento Kings odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Houston Rockets (12-32) travel to Golden 1 Center Sunday to take on the Sacramento Kings (18-27). Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Rockets at Kings odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

In the second part of their two-game series, the Rockets will remain in Sacramento, where they lost by 12 Friday. Christian Wood and Marvin Bagley both dropped 26 points with De’Aaron Fox having a game-high 27.

The Rockets, who went on an odd 7-game win streak earlier this season, are 18-25-1 ATS.

However, they’ve struggled immensely to keep games close lately, covering just 2 of their last 10, failing to cover twice as double-digit underdogs. The opposite can be said for the Kings, who have covered three straight.

The Kings are 20-25 ATS this season and are just 5-5 as home favorites.

Rockets at Kings odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Kings 125, Rockets 118

Money line

PASS on the money line. Sacramento is the better team, but they’re marginally better, making a -230 too steep. I would only consider this value if it dropped under -170.

Against the spread

BET on the KINGS -5.5 (-110).

The Kings covered as 5.5-point favorites at home against Houston Friday. The Rockets have opted not to play defense the past few weeks.

They’ve allowed 130 or more points in 3 of their last 10 games. They’ve allowed 120 or more points in 8 of their last 10. It has been disgusting to watch, and those rights won’t be corrected against a lethal Kings attack.

The Kings rank 19th in offensive rating and 15th in turnover rate. The Rockets, on the other hand, rank dead last in turnover rate, primarily due to their ultra-young backcourt.

Nonetheless, I’ll take the Kings in this position.

Over/Under

“LEAN” on the OVER 239.5 (-108).

I’d certainly prefer Kings spread in this game, but there’s no reason to believe defense will be played. The Kings are 22-22-1 O/U this season, and the Rockets are 26-18.

The Kings have gone Over in 5 of their last 8. Meanwhile, the Rockets have gone Over, mainly due to their inability to defend, in 4 of their last 5.
