Nats manager Davey Martinez had NSFW meltdown over a bad call and the broadcast mics picked up all of it

The comedy cannot be topped here.

When umpire Doug Eddings mentioned that he could hear everything coming form the dugout on Thursday, it turned out that he really meant it.

Nationals manager Davey Martinez found that out the hard way, but at least he got his money’s worth.

As the Diamondbacks and Nationals played a make-up game in front of a small crowd at Nationals Park, it become quickly apparent that the microphones were picking up clear conversations on the field. That led to a funny exchange in the first inning with the D-backs dugout. But the real fireworks happened in the bottom of the fourth inning when a low pitch was called for a third strike on C.J. Abrams.

That had Martinez absolutely furious from the dugout, and we could hear the exchange unfold clearly as it led to Martinez’s ejection. (Warning: Some NSFW language)

The argument started with Eddings saying, “Really, you’re gonna go there?” Eddings initially let Martinez get some words in, but he didn’t tolerate the Nats manager saying, “Get it right! Get it (expletive) right!”

“OK, you’re done,” Eddings said. “You’re gonna cheap shot me?” That led to Martinez putting on a show and brushing dirt on the plate.

Just a spectacular display all the way around. I wish we could hear every argument with umpires because it made for excellent television.

Mics picked up what a heated Christian Arroyo told the umpire after multiple missed calls in an at-bat

Somehow, he was NOT ejected for that.

It’s still early in the season, but the past few days have not been great for the Boston Red Sox. They just got swept at home by the Pirates, and we saw (and heard!) those frustrations boiling over in Tuesday’s 4-1 loss at Fenway Park.

Christian Arroyo had reason to be upset.

Batting in the seventh inning with two outs and a runner on second, Arroyo quickly found himself in a hole when a high first pitch was called a strike. He fouled off the next two pitches only for home plate umpire Dan Iassogna to call him out on another pitch that missed the zone.

Arroyo let Iassogna hear all about it too. (Warning: Video has NSFW language)

The broadcast microphones picked up the exchange between Arroyo and Iassogna, which is always fun. Arroyo shouted, “That’s (expletive) away. That’s not a (expletive) strike. That’s (expletive) two of ’em.”

Iassogna didn’t eject Arroyo there, but he did stand by his call … even though Arroyo appeared to be right.

You can’t blame Arroyo for being angry after that. Good on Iassogna for not tossing Arroyo, though. We’ve seen umpires react dramatically for much less.

Justin Thomas dropped an angry F-bomb after a missed putt and golf fans loved it

Pro golfers are just like us.

Even when fans are in attendance, golf broadcasts have been able to pick up golfer commentary on hot mics. But when you take fans out of the equation completely for a major tournament, you’re going to hear a lot of the frustration play out on TV.

This year’s PGA Championship at TPC Harding Park was the perfect example of that.

After already picking up an F-bomb from Tiger Woods’ MLB conversation with Rory McIlroy, Sunday’s final round had an extremely relatable F-bomb courtesy of Justin Thomas.

Thomas thought he had a certain birdie putt on the par-4 5th, but he watched in disbelief as the putt trailed off the lip. This was how he reacted (NSFW language):

Anyone who has ever played golf certainly knows that feeling, and golf fans actually appreciated being able to hear it play out on the broadcast.

See! Pro golfers are just like us — except, you know, way better at golf.
