Top-tier edge rusher Hayden Lowe arrives at the right time for USC

Hayden Lowe gives USC the boost it needed.

On the latest episode of Trojans Conquest Live, Matt Zemek and I discussed Hayden Lowe, a highly regarded edge rusher in the 2025 class from Oaks Christian in Westlake Village, California. Lowe currently stands at an impressive 6’4″ and weighs 256 pounds. He possesses exceptional athleticism and has attracted attention from numerous out-of-state programs. USC’s ability to land him is a significant boost for the program.

With his impressive combination of athleticism, great burst and bend, Lowe is an ideal edge rusher who would be a valuable asset to coach Shaun Nua’s talented defensive end group. Joining Isaiah Gibson, the top-ranked edge rusher in the class according to 247Sports and On3, and Gus Cordova, a formidable 6-foot-3, 246-pound Texan with 49 offers (including 10 from the SEC and 11 from the Big Ten), Lowe becomes the third defensive end in the class.

Lowe is just the third California commit in this class which currently holds pledges from 16 other players across the country.  He joins linebacker Matai Tagoa’i and cornerback Trestin Castro as the only Californians currently in the 2025 class.

Landing Lowe is a major coup for the program and gives the Trojans one of the best defensive end classes in the country.

We discussed Lowe at 1:20 in the video below at The Voice of College Football:

UCLA target Hayden Lowe announces recruiting schedule

Hayden Lowe has plenty of interest.

Hayden Lowe, one of the prized recruits for the class of 2025 for DeShaun Foster and the UCLA Football staff has announced his summer recruiting schedule.

Love just finished his visit to UCLA. To no surprise, as Love plays his high school football at Oaks Christian in Westlake Village. The edge rusher is ranked as a four-star and is 22nd on the 247Sports list at his position. He is the 21st-ranked recruit in the state of California.

His top 5 appear to be UCLA, USC, Texas, Oregon and Miami. He is next going to make his visit to Miami on May 31st. He will visit Oregon on June 7th, Texas on the 14th of June and Washington on June 21st.

Lowe posted his schedule via his X account:

Many are wondering if Lowe will take an official visit to USC, but none has been announced yet.  Greg Biggins, national recruit analyst from 247 Sports has this to say about Lowe:

Lowe is one of the top edge rushers in the ’25 class. He has a ton of long term upside and is an easy player to project. He has a prototype 6-4, 240 pound frame and in terms of his long-term potential, there’s a lot to like there. He has long arms, is a plus athlete and shows the ability to play just about anywhere along the defensive line. He has the frame to easily add another 20-25 pounds with ease without losing any of his athleticism. He’s a naturally strong kid who can take on double teams and still get up the field. He’s equally strong playing the run or rushing the quarterback and has a nice edge in his game. He has an explosive first step and has the ability to dip and turn the corner to beat most tackles with ease. He hails from the same program that produced former Oregon and NY Giant 1st round pick Kayvon Thibodeaux and his coaches at Oaks feel his upside is just as high.

UCLA, Texas and Oregon all have one edge committed, while the Trojans and Hurricanes currently are without.
