Atlanta Hawks at Milwaukee Bucks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Atlanta Hawks at Milwaukee Bucks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Atlanta Hawks (0-2) face the Milwaukee Bucks (1-0) Sunday. Tip-off from Fiserv Forum is set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Hawks vs. Bucks odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting of 2023; split last season’s series 2-2

Atlanta has struggled to start the season, going 0-2 and having been outscored 242-230 through 2 games. Two-time All-Star G Trae Young is averaging 20.5 points and 10.5 assists per game thus far but has struggled shooting. Young has shot 22.9% from the field and 21.4% from 3.

Milwaukee opened its season with a 118-117 win over the Philadelphia 76ers Thursday, failing to cover as a 6-point home favorite. Seven-time All-Star G Damian Lillard scored 39 points in his Bucks debut while shooting 17-17 from the stripe. Two-time MVP F Giannis Antetokounmpo slightly struggled in the win despite posting 23 points and 12 rebounds. Antetokounmpo shot only 10-21 from the field and had a +/- of -13 in his 35 minutes.

Hawks at Bucks picks and predictions

Prediction

Bucks 125, Hawks 115

Moneyline

PASS.

Milwaukee should win this game with the way Atlanta has played to start the season, but a -300 favorite is not worth the risk of betting on. Bet on the moneyline and/or total instead.

Against the spread

BET BUCKS -6.5 (-110).

Neither Young nor 2022 All-Star G Dejounte Murray have played well to start the season, and if that continues, the Bucks should pick up the easy win. But, if Young and Murray both show up, I still expect a loss as Antetokounmpo and Lillard have the better supporting cast and are the more talented duo. Lillard was great in the win vs. Philadelphia, but both he and Giannis can make improvements from that game, and if they do, I don’t see the Hawks standing a chance.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 238.5 (-110).

Even with bad play from its 2 best players, Atlanta has still put up 110 points or more in each of its 2 losses. Lillard was really the only big scorer for Milwaukee on its opening night, and the Bucks still put up 118. Both of these teams can score at all 3 levels, and if both duos come to play, this game should smash the Over number of 238.5.

Atlanta Hawks at Milwaukee Bucks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Atlanta Hawks at Milwaukee Bucks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Atlanta Hawks (8-5) are set to take on the Milwaukee Bucks (10-2) Monday at Fiserv Forum. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Hawks vs. Bucks odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Hawks experienced a 121-109 loss at the Philadelphia 76ers Saturday, failing to cover as 3-point underdogs. Atlanta was able to surprisingly beat Milwaukee 117-98 at home in their last meeting Nov. 7 despite G Trae Young missing the contest.

The Bucks suffered a disappointing 111-93 loss to the San Antonio Spurs Friday as they fell short of covering as 2-point underdogs with F Giannis Antetokounmpo and G Jrue Holiday sidelined. Milwaukee took down Atlanta 123-115 at home in the 1st meeting this season Oct. 29.

Hawks at Bucks picks and predictions

Prediction

Bucks 116, Hawks 109

Moneyline

The odds for the Bucks (-175) to win are at a spot where I’ll just AVOID taking the moneyline in this game. While I wouldn’t recommend wagering on Milwaukee’s moneyline straight up, it’s fine taking the Bucks to win in a parlay.

Against the spread

With Antetokounmpo expected to return to Milwaukee’s lineup, BUCKS -4.5 (-105) appears to be an ideal wager at home. Milwaukee is also expected to have Allen available, however, Holiday has been ruled out.

The Bucks are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home games. As for the Hawks, they’ve gone 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road matchups with the Bucks.

Over/Under

OVER 224.5 (-115) is where I’m leaning in this game with Antetokounmpo projected to be back. Both of these teams are in the top half of the league in pace (Hawks are 6th, Bucks are 15th), so both teams are expected to be pushing the ball up the court consistently.

The Over is 5-1 in Atlanta’s last 6 road games. Meanwhile, the Over has hit in 4 of the last 7 meetings between the Hawks and the Bucks.

Atlanta Hawks at Milwaukee Bucks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Atlanta Hawks at Milwaukee Bucks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Atlanta Hawks (4-1) visit Fiserv Forum to take on the undefeated Milwaukee Bucks (4-0) Saturday. Tip is set for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Hawks vs. Bucks odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Bucks are coming into this battle as the league’s only undefeated team, and what makes it more impressive is that they’ve done it without All-Star G Khris Middleton.

Milwaukee has beaten Houston, Philadelphia, New York and Brooklyn. F Giannis Antetokounmpo leads the team, averaging 34.5 points, 13.3 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game.

As for the Hawks, they are tied with the Cavaliers for the 2nd-best record in the Eastern Conference. Atlanta’s lone loss has come against the Charlotte Hornets.

The Hawks are led by G Trae Young, who is averaging 29.4 points per game yet is shooting just 39.3% from the field and 29.3% from deep. Offseason acquisition G Dejounte Murray is averaging 19.8 points per game.

Hawks at Bucks picks and predictions

Prediction

Bucks 120, Hawks 112

Moneyline

PASS.

I’m backing Milwaukee here, but the -210 isn’t quite good enough to consider them to just straight-up win.

Against the spread

BET BUCKS -5.5 (-103).

The Hawks are 4-1, but look at who they have beaten. Detroit twice, Houston and Orlando — those teams are a combined 3-14.

Young is scoring at a career-high pace, but those numbers are clouded by awful shooting splits as he is shooting under 40% from the field and under 30% from deep.

With an All-Defensive G Jrue Holiday on the other side Saturday, those inefficiencies may be exasperated. Given Antetokounmpo looks unstoppable and the Bucks have the best defensive rating in the NBA, I would back them to cover here.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 229.5 (-108).

Neither team sits in the top 10 in offensive rebounding or effective field goal rate. Neither pushes the pace either, and the Hawks have the 2nd-best turnover rate in the NBA.

While Holiday is a stud defensively, Murray is as well, and the defensive-minded guards should be the stars of the night Saturday. Atlanta was 10-17 O/U as a road underdog last season.

Atlanta Hawks at Milwaukee Bucks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Atlanta Hawks at Milwaukee Bucks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Atlanta Hawks (31-33) visit Fiserv Forum Wednesday to take on the Milwaukee Bucks (41-25). Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Hawks vs. Bucks odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Bucks are coming into this battle following a 142-115 road win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Milwaukee covered as a 13.5-point favorite and has now covered three straight outings and four of its last five games.

The Bucks have won five straight games straight up (SU) and have soared to third in the Eastern Conference. Milwaukee is led by two-time MVP F Giannis Antetokounmpo who is averaging 29.4 points per game.

The Bucks are just 30-36 against the spread (ATS) this season, but that’s slightly better than the Hawks’ 28-36 ATS record. Atlanta is just 31-33 SU on the season and a mere 4-6 ATS over its last 10 games.

It’s coming off a 113-110 overtime road loss to the Detroit Pistons, the second-worst ranked team in the East. The Hawks are led by G Trae Young who is averaging 27.8 points and 9.4 assists per game.

Hawks at Bucks odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Bucks 126, Hawks 118

Money line

PASS.

The Bucks (-240) are too expensive for my liking, and I wouldn’t bet on an upset either given the Hawks (+190) are just 12-20 on the road while the Bucks are 23-12 at home.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

BET on the BUCKS -5.5 (-112).

Atlanta is coming in with an awful road record ATS and it’s no better it is a road underdog.

The Hawks are just 6-14 ATS this season as road ‘dogs, but they’re 2-0 SU and ATS in two home games against the Bucks this season. Milwaukee is 11-20 ATS as a home favorite.

While not much better situationally ATS, the Bucks have been playing better as of late, covering three straight spreads compared to Atlanta which has failed to cover its last two games.

These teams respectively rank second (Hawks) and third (Bucks) in offensive rating. Defensively is where they separate with the Bucks 11th and the Hawks 26th.

The Bucks just put up 142 points on the 14th-ranked defense of the Thunder and they should be able to abuse the Hawks’ defense. The Bucks also beat the Hawks 4-2 in the Eastern Conference Finals last season and would have covered a 5.5-point spread in each win.

Over/Under

BET the OVER 237.5 (-110).

The Bucks have gone over the projected total in eight of their last 10 games, having posted 130 or more points in three of their last five. They’re 2-2 O/U in their last 10 games on totals that are over 237 points.

The Bucks rank fifth in pace on the season and are 34-32 O/U.

The Hawks are 6-4 O/U across their last 10 outings and have put up 115 or more in three of five. They’re 35-29 O/ on the season. If there’s something both teams know how to do well, it’s cover the projected total.

Atlanta Hawks at Milwaukee Bucks Game 5 odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Thursday’s Atlanta Hawks at Milwaukee Bucks Game 5 NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Atlanta Hawks visit the Milwaukee Bucks for Game 5 of their Eastern Conference Finals Thursday. Tip-off at Fiserv Forum is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. (TNT). Below, we analyze the Hawks-Bucks odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Despite PG Trae Young sitting out with a bone bruise on his right foot suffered in Game 3, Atlanta evened the series at 2-all with a 110-88 home victory Tuesday.

The Hawks benefited when Bucks PF Giannis Antetokounmpo, the league’s MVP, hyperextended his knee with 7:14 remaining in the third quarter. Atlanta would close the quarter with a 25-10 run for a commanding 87-62 lead.

The big question in what is now a best-of-3 series is who will step up in place of Antetokounmpo, who is listed as doubtful, and possibly for Young, who is listed as doubtful.

Milwaukee did receive good news on Antetokounmpo Wednesday when an MRI showed no structural damage to his left knee with no surgery required. There’s a chance he could even play Thursday night.

Against the spread (ATS)

Again, PASS because of the uncertainty of Young and Antetokounmpo.

The Bucks were favored in all four games of this series, covering the spread in their two wins.

ATS records (including playoffs): Hawks 49-38-1 | Bucks 40-47

ATS playoff records: Hawks 10-6 | Bucks 8-7

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 216.5 (-110) is the STRONGEST PLAY – 1½ times your usual wager.

The Under is 3-1 in this series with only Game 1 cashing an Over ticket.

Make your bet as early as possible as the O/U total will likely drop as tip-off nears.

Even when Young and Antetokounmpo have played during the playoffs, both clubs have been mostly cashing Under tickets.

O/U records (including playoffs): Hawks 39-49 | Bucks 45-40-2

O/U playoff records: Hawks 4-12 | Bucks 4-10-1

Atlanta Hawks at Milwaukee Bucks Game 2 odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Atlanta Hawks at Milwaukee Bucks Game 2 odds and lines, with NBA picks, tips and predictions.

The Atlanta Hawks take the court at Fiserv Forum Friday with a 1-0 Eastern Conference Finals lead over the Milwaukee Bucks. Tip-off is scheduled for shortly after 8:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Hawks-Bucks odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Hawks are coming off an impressive outing in the first game of the series. After beating the Philadelphia 76ers in seven games, Atlanta came out aggressive with PG Trae Young leading the way in Game 1. He finished with 48 points, one less than Bucks PF Giannis Antetokounmpo and SF Khris Middleton combined.

The Bucks were stunned at home, a place where they played well all season. Milwaukee had a chance late and got a clean 3-point look for Middleton but lost a heartbreaker.

Hawks at Bucks: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Bucks 112, Hawks 106

Money line (ML)

PASS on the money line and it should be easy to see why. The Bucks will probably come out on top. After all, they were 26-10 at home in the regular season. They were 5-0 at home in the playoffs until their Game 1 loss.

Milwaukee has the weapons to adjust and should be able to find a rotation that limits the rising superstar.

If there’s a money line play, it’s still Atlanta at +260, but given the situation the Bucks will be put in, they should come out on top. I wouldn’t bet against the Greek Freak .

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

“LEAN” to the HAWKS +8 (-110) because they’ve been a covering machine in the playoffs. While I don’t expect to see an Atlanta victory, laying almost double-digit points against a team that won Game 1 is just too much.

Atlanta is 9-4 ATS in the playoffs. The Bucks, who have been given some outrageous numbers throughout the playoffs, are just 6-6 ATS.

After getting a combined 67 points from PG Jrue Holiday and Antetokounmpo in Game 1, the Bucks still weren’t able to get the job done. Expecting both Young and Holiday to regress a bit, the Hawks should cover with Bogdanovic playing a bigger factor, if active.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET the UNDER 226.5 (-110) as this is the best bargain Friday. The Hawks are 4-9 while the Bucks are 4-7-1 against the projected total in the playoffs.

Holiday’s 33 points in Game 1 were by far his most of the playoffs, having previously not eclipsed 21 points this postseason. Hawks PF John Collins also tied his playoff high with 23 points in Game 1.

While the Hawks and Bucks combined for 229 points in Game 1, more defense is in store. With the chance of a Bucks blowout win, there’s no denying that could help the Under. Regression to the mean is in store, and that should help the Under hit.
