Robert Griffin III brilliantly dressed up like Harry Potter for Florida State vs. Wake Forest

You’re a wizard, RG3.

While Halloween isn’t until Tuesday, some folks are celebrating the holiday full of goblins, ghouls and candy this weekend. One of those people is Robert Griffin III, the former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback turned broadcaster for ESPN.

RG3 must be a big fan of Harry Potter. Before the kickoff of Florida State versus Wake Forest, the former No. 1 overall NFL Draft pick donned a robe, a vest, glasses, a wig and a broom that made him look like a student of Albus Dumbledore at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Perhaps RG3 can cast a spell to help the Demon Deacons narrow the gap against FSU today. Florida State is favored by 21 points.

Here’s a closer look at RG3’s awesome costume:

Tommy Townsend wants to be ‘Harry Potter’ with the football in 2023

Chiefs punter Tommy Townsend says he wants to be ‘Harry Potter with the football in 2023. | from: @EdEastonJr

The Kansas City Chiefs offense garners plenty of well-deserved attention around the league, but an often overlooked strength of the team is their ability to win the field position battle against opponents on special teams.

Punter Tommy Townsend’s 2022 season was about as good as could be for any NFL punter. He earned Pro Bowl and first-team All-Pro honors, making it his best season to date. Townsend spoke with the media on Monday, revealing his plans to improve in 2023, even referencing a famous wizard for inspiration.

“[I’m] just trying to work on, like, the same things that I did last year,” Townsend explained. “[I’m] just trying to, like, hold on to the ball a little bit longer, because like I’ve mentioned before, and like everyone knows… Kansas City [is] one of the windiest places to play.

“So yeah, just trying to, like, hold on to the ball as long as I can. And really pull my legs straight through. But, you know, a big thing, you know, try and work on a bunch of different kicks, and you know, try and be a wizard with the football just, you know, [be] Harry Potter with the football.”

Townsend was named an AFC Special Teams Player of the Week last year and was a playoff captain for Kansas City during its Super Bowl run. He will look to replicate that same magic in 2023 as the new season draws near.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy State of Play: When and where to watch in your time zone

When and where to watch the Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy State of Play stream in your time zone.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy has been discussed for what feels like eons in the online space, and now we’re finally getting to see more on what might be the game Harry Potter fans have always dreamed of. The PlayStation Blog confirmed that a State of Play stream event that focuses on Hogwarts Legacy exclusively will air on March 17.

Fans are already praying that this is an improvement on March’s previous State of Play stream, which was widely seen as underwhelming for PlayStation fans. Though, only Harry Potter fans are really gearing up for something big here, understandably. Still, given that this gets a dedicated State of Play, it must be impactful.

Below we’re listing when and where you can watch March 2022’s Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy State of Play stream.

9 of John Williams’s most iconic scores in honor of his 90th birthday, from ‘Jurassic Park’ to ‘Home Alone’

The composing GOAT hits a milestone birthday. Time to celebrate with some of his best works.

Legendary composer John Williams has scored some of the most iconic moments in film history, whether we’re visiting Isla Nublar to see dinosaurs brought to life or feeling chills as Darth Vader appears on the screen. He’s been a part of almost every major movie series and has effective changed the way we watch and appreciate movies. With a career that has spanned 70 years, Williams has won five Academy Awards, four Golden Globes, 25 Grammy Awards and three Emmy Awards (among others). Williams is perhaps the best to ever do it.

It’s Williams’s 90th birthday on Tuesday, so what better way to celebrate than with nine of his all-time greatest scores?

LeBron James is a Gryffindor, says one passionate NBA redditor

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is considered a Gryffindor, according to the efforts of one very passionate Harry Potter/NBA fan.

As we enter Week 3 without the National Basketball Association and the absence of real sports becomes more undeniable as we get further and further from the season due to the global pandemic, it’s not exactly a boom time for discussing the NBA or anything currently going on, because nothing is going on. But the internet has proven to be a useful aid during these times and one of those reasons is the connection it provides to all of us. In the case of the NBA, one passionate fan, who also loves Harry Potter, brought us a worthy distraction.

Which Hogwarts houses would NBA players be in? And in the case of this blog, which house would LeBron join? According to Reddit user DonyeWest, James would be a Slytherin, which in this metaphor has been found by Bill Russell. Here is the Starting 5.

Founder: Bill Russell

House Ghost: Kevin Garnett

PG: Russell Westbrook – Charges in headfirst, previous results be damned. His attitude of “fuck it I’ll do it myself” is emblematic of what people think of Gryffindors.

SG: Damian Lillard – Brave as hell (see: long distance game winners) and a born leader. His extreme loyalty to his franchise and city are among his best traits – he’d rather go down doing what he believes in than jump ship.

SF: Jayson Tatum – Obviously incredibly ballsy and precocious given what he’s accomplished in his first 2.75 seasons, not afraid of big moments. He also seems to have a well of untapped talent that he’s just starting to figure out.

PF: LeBron James – LeBron could fit in any house but Hufflepuff, but he seems like a natural fit here (lion imagery aside). He is supremely talented with a willingness to bend rules to get things done, like Hermione, and he’s clearly loyal and a born leader.

C: Bam Adebayo – He’s one of the most tenacious players in the NBA and seems to take every challenge extremely personally. It feels like Adebayo is going to be a leader in the NBA for a long time as the next Heat legend.

While I don’t know if LeBron himself is much of a Harry Potter fan, maybe his kids can tell him why it’s cool that he is a Gryffindor. But it’s not exactly surprising it went this way. He did tattoo “The Chosen One” on himself after all.
