Sheldon Creed and Sam Mayer have both signed multi-year agreements with Haas Factory Team to drive in the NASCAR Xfinity Series starting in 2025.

Creed will drive the No. 00 Ford Mustang in his fourth season of Xfinity Series competition, moving over from Joe Gibbs Racing.

“I’ve won in every division I’ve raced in, and I feel like I’ve earned my place in the Xfinity Series, but that’s not enough,” Creed said. “I want to win in the Xfinity Series. I watched what Cole Custer did last year on his way to the Xfinity Series championship, and when I talked with him about the setup of the organization, everything he said resonated with me. I feel like Haas Factory Team is a place I can succeed, and where Sam and I can work together to win races and be championship contenders.”

Mayer will drive the No. 41 Ford Mustang. The organization chose to use the No. 41 over the No. 98 to align its program better. Custer, returning to the Cup Series next season to drive for the organization, will be in the No. 41 Ford Mustang in that series.

Next season will be Mayer’s fifth in the series. He has six career wins and will join Haas Factory Team from JR Motorsports.

“The Xfinity Series is a really great place to learn and grow and get yourself ready for the NASCAR Cup Series,” Mayer said. “Cup is the ultimate goal, and to really push myself to become the kind of driver who can succeed in Cup, I needed to get out of my comfort zone, challenge myself, and hone my race skills so that when that Cup moment comes, I’m ready. The Haas team got Cole Custer ready for his moment and it’s a place that will help get me and Sheldon ready for our moments.”

Creed and Mayer fill the voids of Custer, the reigning series champion, and Riley Herbst. Although Custer’s future is set, the plans for Herbst next season have not yet been announced.

Haas Factory Team will be the organization’s rebranded effort born from the outgoing Stewart-Haas Racing team. Gene Haas and Tony Stewart announced in a joint statement in May they were shuttering the organization. However, Haas later reversed course and kept one charter to field a Cup Series car and is keeping both Xfinity Series entries.

“We’ve developed a strong and consistent Xfinity Series program at Stewart-Haas that wins races and championships,” team president Joe Custer said. “In 2025 that program will operate as Haas Factory Team. The name is changing, but our commitment to winning remains the same.

“Sheldon Creed and Sam Mayer have won championships on their way to the Xfinity Series and they’re both hungry to win races and compete for [Xfinity Series titles]. They bring significant experience and a shared desire to win. Having them a part of Haas Factory Team allows us to operate at a high level and collect trophies.”

Sheldon Creed linked to new NASCAR organization for 2025 season

Sheldon Creed has been linked to a new NASCAR organization for the 2025 season. Which NASCAR team could sign Creed for next season?

[autotag]Sheldon Creed[/autotag]’s move to Joe Gibbs Racing was expected to bring the No. 18 Xfinity team back to victory lane, but it hasn’t occurred yet. In 2024, Creed has three second-place finishes, all of which have been agonizing. It has been a season that closely resembled Daniel Hemric’s with Joe Gibbs Racing in 2021, and it could end similarly.

When discussing Creed on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Catchfence’s Lee Spencer mentioned [autotag]Haas Factory Team[/autotag] as a possibility for the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season. Haas Factory Team is a new NASCAR team with Gene Haas and Joe Custer as Stewart-Haas Racing shuts down after 2024. Cole Custer will drive the No. 41 Cup car with two openings in the Xfinity Series.

Hailie Deegan has been linked to Haas Factory Team in the Xfinity Series, so Creed could join her as a teammate in 2025. The driver of the No. 18 car likely can’t get better equipment outside of Joe Gibbs Racing, but Haas Factory Team could rival Stewart-Haas Racing’s competitiveness in the Xfinity Series. It will be fascinating to see what happens with Creed for 2025.

Custer returning to Cup Series in 2025 with Haas Factory Team

Cole Custer will return to the NASCAR Cup Series full-time next season as the Haas Factory Team entry driver.

Custer, 26, will drive the No. 41 Ford Mustang Dark Horse with sponsorship from Haas Automation and HaasTooling.com. The team will have a technical alliance with RFK Racing and receive additional support from Ford Performance.

“Cole has represented Haas Automation for more than half his life and he’s delivered results every step of the way,” team owner Gene Haas said. “He just wins and he’s proven that repeatedly. On his way to winning the Xfinity Series championship last year, Cole really carved out an identity for himself, on the track and off. He brings home trophies and he races people clean. He’s earned a lot of respect from his peers, and he’s a genuine personality whose hard work resonates with our customers.

“The NASCAR Cup Series is tough, but Cole is coming back wiser and tougher. We’re very happy to have him in our colors and in our race car.”

Haas Factory Team will be a single-car entry from Haas. It will keep Haas in the sport with a charter after he and Tony Stewart decided to shutter Stewart-Haas Racing, which fields four cars in the Cup Series and two in the Xfinity Series. Haas will also keep the Xfinity Series program.

Custer ran three seasons in the Cup Series with Stewart-Haas before being moved to the Xfinity Series program. He is the reigning series champion with four victories since the start of 2023 and currently leads the points with seven races left in the regular season.

Last year, Custer made six starts in the Cup Series for Rick Ware. In 117 career starts, Custer has 12 top-10 finishes and one victory. The victory at Kentucky Speedway in his rookie season, 2020, helped Custer clinch Rookie of the Year honors.

Haas Automation and HaasTooling.com are familiar brands to Custer. Haas has sponsored Custer for over a decade in his climb through the racing ladder from NASCAR K&N to ARCA and into all three national series.

“I’ve grown up with Haas Automation, and having their name on my firesuit is something I take a tremendous amount of pride in,” Custer said. “I’m driven to win for Gene and everyone at Haas Automation because they’ve been such a big part of my career. Haas Factory Team will essentially be a new race team next year, and it’s going to take all of us to build it into an organization that can go out and win races. I want this opportunity, and I’m ready for this challenge.”

Josh Berry addresses possibility of joining Haas Factory Team in Cup for 2025

Josh Berry addresses the possibility of joining Haas Factory Team in the NASCAR Cup Series for 2025. Will Berry go to Haas Factory Team?

[autotag]Josh Berry[/autotag] has been linked to several NASCAR Cup Series teams since Stewart-Haas Racing announced it would shut down after the 2024 season. One of the latest is Wood Brothers Racing, which has been in contact with Berry. However, what about [autotag]Haas Factory Team[/autotag], which is a new NASCAR team with Gene Haas and Joe Custer?

Over the weekend at Nashville Superspeedway, Berry was asked about the idea of going to Haas Factory Team and being its driver for the 2025 NASCAR season, as reported by RACER.com. Based on his response, it seems like he won’t be staying with Haas.

“Throughout that whole process, we heard the rumors about what was going on and whether there was going to be one charter kept or two charters kept,” Berry said. “We read all that stuff on the internet like [everyone else], and that’s where I’ll leave that. I read it on the internet, so I assume that I’m not a candidate for that ride, and I’ve had no communication there.”

“I’m happy that [Gene Haas] is staying in the sport and continuing that on, and I’m really thankful for the opportunity that I got to come race at [Stewart-Haas Racing]. Obviously, there’s probably things that have happened that they required to make a change, and I respect them for that. I’m thankful for the opportunity I got, and we’re going to move forward in our own direction.”

While Berry could stay with Haas, it appears that Haas Factory Team is going in another direction. In fact, Stewart-Haas Racing driver Cole Custer is widely regarded as the top candidate for the ride. It seems likely that Berry will eventually find a ride in the Cup Series for 2025, but don’t expect it to be with Haas Factory Team.

Josh Berry said Saturday he doesn’t believe he’s in the running to drive the NASCAR Cup Series car Gene Haas will field next season considering how he heard the news.

“Throughout that whole process, we heard the rumors and what was going on and whether there was going to be one charter kept or two charters kept,” Berry said at Nashville Superspeedway. “We read all that stuff on the internet like [everyone else], and that’s where I’ll leave that. I read it on the internet, so I assume that I’m not a candidate for that ride, and I’ve had no communication there.”

Haas and co-owner Tony Stewart released a joint statement May 28 announcing the organization would cease its NASCAR operations at season’s end. On the Cup Series side, it meant the end of four teams, including Berry’s. There are also two Xfinity Series teams that compete under the Stewart-Haas banner.

But on June 20, Haas reversed course and announced he would remain in NASCAR with one of the Cup Series charters. Haas will rebrand the entity to Haas Factory Team and also continue running two Xfinity Series teams.

“I’m happy that Gene is staying in the sport and continuing that on, and I’m really thankful for the opportunity that I got to come race at Stewart-Haas,” Berry continued. “ Obviously, there’s probably things that have happened that they required to make a change, and I respect them for that. I’m thankful for the opportunity I got, and we’re going to move forward in our own direction.”

Berry has not yet announced what he will do in 2025. As he continues to explore his options, he and crew chief Rodney Childers have expressed hope of staying together. It remains unclear how realistic that will be, and their future changes daily.

However, Berry did say he is optimistic about having a Cup Series ride next season.

“I feel good about [that],” he said. “I think our results have been really strong the last couple of months. …Winning a race is really all left that I can do. We finished in the top five, we ran up front, we led laps, we showed the potential that we can do [it], so that’s been a big confidence boost for me.

“You find a lot about yourself when your back’s against the wall, and I think everybody’s performing at a really high level — [the highest we’ve ever had, probably], and we’re fighting together. I feel like there are opportunities to come.”

Haas Factory Team’s top candidate for NASCAR Cup Series ride in 2025 revealed

Haas Factory Team’s top candidate for its NASCAR Cup Series ride in 2025 has been revealed. Who could join the new NASCAR team in 2025?

[autotag]Haas Factory Team[/autotag] is a new NASCAR Cup Series team led by Gene Haas and Joe Custer. The organization will have one charter from Stewart-Haas Racing and field two cars in the NASCAR Xfinity Series next year. However, which driver could compete for Haas Factory Team in the Cup Series? The answer shouldn’t be too shocking.

According to FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass, it would stand to reason that Cole Custer is the top candidate to join Haas Factory Team as the full-time driver in 2025. With Custer leading the NASCAR team, seeing the 2023 Xfinity Series champion linked to the open ride makes sense. Custer has run well since being demoted from the Cup Series following the 2022 NASCAR season.

Currently, no drivers have been linked to Haas Factory Team’s two-car operation in the Xfinity Series, but several drivers, such as Ryan Preece, make sense on the surface. After winning the Xfinity Series championship, Custer deserves another opportunity in the Cup Series, and Haas Factory Team would be the perfect situation for him.

Why Gene Haas kept a NASCAR charter for Haas Factory Team

Why did Gene Haas keep a NASCAR charter for Haas Factory Team? Haas gave an explanation on why he is staying in NASCAR!

Stewart-Haas Racing announced it would shut down after the 2024 NASCAR season, but [autotag]Gene Haas[/autotag] won’t be going anywhere. On Thursday afternoon, it was announced that Haas would retain a charter from Stewart-Haas Racing and rebrand to [autotag]Haas Factory Team[/autotag]. The driver, sponsors, and manufacturer were not revealed in the announcement.

However, what made Haas go down this road? The NASCAR team owner explained his decision to keep his presence in the Cup Series beyond Stewart-Haas Racing in 2025 and beyond.

“My commitment to motorsports hasn’t changed, just the scope of my involvement,” Haas said. “Operating a four-car [NASCAR Cup Series] team has become too arduous but, at the same time, I still need a platform to promote Haas Automation and grow HaasTooling.com. Maintaining my presence in Cup allows Haas Automation to compete at NASCAR’s highest level, which is important to our customers and distributors. The [NASCAR Xfinity Series] program provides a full weekend experience for our guests, and it delivers added depth and scale to our overall operation.”

A four-car operation in the Cup Series was too much for Haas, but a one-car operation will be easier to maintain and develop. It’s always good to see new programs in the Cup Series, so it will be interesting to see how Haas and Joe Custer handle this situation. NASCAR silly season has been crazy, and Haas only added to the madness.

Gene Haas to keep one NASCAR charter, rebrand to Haas Factory Team

Gene Haas will keep one Stewart-Haas Racing charter while rebranding to Haas Factory Team for the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season.

Stewart-Haas Racing previously announced it would shut its doors after the 2024 NASCAR season; however, co-owner [autotag]Gene Haas[/autotag] will be sticking around. On Thursday afternoon, it was announced that Haas will keep one of the four Stewart-Haas Racing charters and continue his presence in NASCAR by rebranding to the [autotag]Haas Factory Team[/autotag].

Alongside the one-car Cup Series program, Haas Factory Team will operate a two-car program in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, the same as the 2024 season. Joe Custer will be the president of Haas Factory Team, and drivers and team partners will be announced ahead of the 2025 NASCAR season next February.

This was rumored as a possibility for weeks, but it now means all Stewart-Haas Racing charters have a likely home. It is excellent that Haas will continue his presence in NASCAR, and it’ll be interesting to see which manufacturer the team will run for in 2025 and beyond. Stewart-Haas Racing might be nearing an end, but Haas Factory Team is just beginning.

Gene Haas will continue to have a presence in NASCAR next season under a new enterprise: Haas Factory Team.

The news comes less than a month after Haas and Tony Stewart released a joint statement saying Stewart-Haas Racing will close its door at season’s end. Haas and Stewart have co-owned the team since 2009, fielding multiple cars in both the NASCAR Xfinity Series and Cup Series.

Haas, however, will keep one of the charters from the four-car NASCAR Cup Series program. The two-car NASCAR Xfinity Series team, which won the championship last season with Cole Custer, will also continue.

“My commitment to motorsports hasn’t changed, just the scope of my involvement,” Haas said. “Operating a four-car Cup Series team has become too arduous but, at the same time, I still need a platform to promote Haas Automation and grow HaasTooling.com.

There were no drivers or team partners announced for Haas Factory Team. A manufacturer was also not mentioned.

Joe Custer will be the president of Haas Factory Team, which will operate out of the existing Stewart-Haas Racing building. Custer is currently the co-president of Stewart-Haas Racing.

Custer and Riley Herbst drive for Stewart-Haas Racing in the Xfinity Series. Josh Berry, Noah Gragson, Chase Briscoe and Ryan Preece compete for the organization in the Cup Series.
