Dead by Daylight: Sadako Rising Chapter perks and abilities

Here’s what to expect from the Ringu update.

The Sadako Rising Chapter for Dead By Daylight brings everyone’s favorite terrifying ghost girl from Ringu back, and there’s plenty to learn about this spectral assassin.

First off, while Sadako Rising isn’t coming out formally until March 8, 2022, switching to Dead By Daylight’s Public Test Build (PTB) will give you access to Sadako Yamamura and Yoichi Asakawa, the new Killer and survivor characters, respectively, well ahead of the chapter’s launch. To access the PTB, simply right-click Dead By Daylight’s Steam launcher, select ‘properties,’ click on the ‘betas’ tab, and opt into the PTB build via the dropdown menu, and voila!

Sadako Abilities

Like every other Killer in Dead By Daylight, Sadako’s formal title is “The Onryō,” so any description mentioning “Onryō” is about Sadako.

The Onryō’s Power: Deluge of Fear

Before Manifesting, The Onryō gains the Undetectable status effect and is invisible to Survivors, but becomes intermittently visible when she’s within 32 meters of them.

Special Ability: Manifestation

The Onryō must physically manifest to attack Survivors. Press and hold the power button to Manifest into material form in your current position. For a brief duration after Manifesting, The Onryō will continue to be intermittently visible to Survivors when she’s within 32 meters for as long as she remains Manifested. The Onryō can Demanifest by pressing and holding the power button.

Special Ability: Projection

The Onryō can also take physical form by Projecting herself through a TV. Press the ability button while looking at a powered TV to Project into it, shutting the TV off in the process. All Survivors within 16 Meters of the TV gain Condemned progress. A fully Condemned Survivor is reveal by Killer Instinct and can be killed once downed.

Sadako Perks

Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage

  • You form a psychic connection with The Entity and alter the rules of the trial.
  • At the start of the trial, up to four random hooks are changed into scourge hooks. You see their auras in white.
  • When a Survivor is unhooked from a scourge hook, all other Survivors have their auras revealed for five seconds.

Merciless Storm

  • Your horrible trauma is felt by everyone.
  • When a generator reaches 90 percent progress, Survivors working on the generator will be faced with continuous Skill Checks. If they miss or stop repairing, the generator is blocked for 16 seconds.
  • Merciless Storm can only trigger once per generator per trial.

Call of Brine

  • Your psychic abilities influence technology in devastating ways.
  • After damaging a generator, this perk becomes active for 60 seconds.
  • The generator regresses at 150 percent of the normal regression speed, and its aura is revealed to you.
  • Each time a Survivor completes a good Skill Check on a generator affected by this perk, you receive a loud noise notification.

Yoichi Asakawa Perks

What would a Ringu update be without Yoichi? He’s all grown up from the original 1998 film and ready to remind Sadako that nobody watches VHS tapes anymore.

Boon: Dark Theory

  • Your obsessive study of the paranormal has given you unparalleled knowledge of other realms and planes of existence.
  • Press and hold the ability button near a Dull or Hex Totem to bless it and create a Boon Totem. Soft chimes echo out in a 24-meter range.
  • Any Survivors within the Boon Totem’s range gain a 2 percent Haste status effect. This effect lingers for 2 seconds after leaving the Boon Totem’s range.
  • You can bless one Totem at a time. All equipped boon perks are active on your Boon Totem.

Empathic Connection

  • Your presence psychically projects itself to Survivors in danger.
  • Whenever another Survivor is injured, they can see your aura within 32 meters.
  • You heal other Survivors 10 percent faster.

Parental Guidance

  • You have inherited the ability to hear the dead, and now, the dead warn you of danger.
  • After stunning the Killer, your scratch marks, pools of blood, and grunts of pain are hidden for 8 seconds.

Lost Ark: all Mokoko Seeds in Prideholme

A green thumb isn’t necessary to find these saplings.

Tracking down every Mokoko Seed in Lost Ark takes time, given there are well over 1000 of these shining saplings — don’t get overwhelmed, though. We already went over the purpose and rewards for Mokoko Seeds, so now let’s tackle where to find all nine in Lost Ark’s opening city.

Mokoko Seed locations in Prideholme

There’s no zone in Lost Ark where finding every Mokoko Seed is easier than this. Out of the nine in the city, only two of them are tricky to track down, with the rest being out in the open practically begging for a picking. Check out the map screenshot with (fancy) red highlights below to see what I mean.

Now those two to the left of the Prideholme Cathedral are sneaky because you must stroll through a brick wall to reach them. In the screenshot below, look where the white kitty cat’s behind is sticking out — run through there.

Once behind the wall, go forward for a tick, turn left, then right to reach both seeds. This area is pitch-black, so don’t expect any breadcrumbs leading the way inside.

Pretty straightforward, eh? Well, don’t get comfortable, as Prideholme’s Mokoko Seeds are easy as pie compared to every other zone in Lost Ark

ForTheWin has a couple of Lost Ark explainers if you’re stuck, like which server is best, how to double Founders Pack rewards, and a (totally snark-free) list of things to do while in login queues.

Unlicensed Yellowstone guide ‘motivated by greed’ gets jail sentence

A man who had been profiting as an unlicensed guide in Yellowstone National Park has been found guilty on seven counts of illegal activities and violating national park regulations.

A man who had been profiting as an unlicensed guide in Yellowstone National Park has been found guilty on seven counts of illegal activities and violating national park regulations.

Among the activities, according to a park news release issued Monday, were violating closure periods, trespassing in thermal areas, violating swimming closures and allowing cliff jumping, creating hot spots in rivers, and disturbing wildlife.

Theodore Eugene Garland, 60, of Edmond, Okla., was sentenced to seven days in jail, fined $600, and banned from Yellowstone National Park until Dec. 31, 2021.

During the July 2 sentencing, before Magistrate Judge Mark L. Carman at Mammoth Hot Springs, Wyo., the government had suggested a 30-day jail sentence, steeper fines, and a five-year ban from the park.

Garland was found guilty based largely on incriminating images and posts that appeared on his social media platforms.

He was also ordered to pay $500 to the Yellowstone Forever Geological Resource Fund, serve five years of unsupervised probation, and cease promoting “violations of laws in the national parks.”

Said Acting United States Attorney Bob Murray: “Enforcing federal criminal laws for the protection of our national parks’ resources will always remain a priority of the United States Attorney’s office in Wyoming.

“That is especially true when a criminal motivated by greed, like Mr. Garland, encourages others to commit more crimes and cause more damage to the treasures of America’s first national park.”

The news release, posted to Facebook by Yellowstone National Park, inspired hundreds of comments in just the first hour. Many followers expressed criticism of what they perceived to be too light of a sentence.

2020 NFL Draft: New Orleans Saints team preview

Here is your fan’s guide to the New Orleans Saints and the 2020 NFL Draft, complete with draft picks, team needs, and top prospects to know.

[jwplayer lmOLyg8W-ThvAeFxT]

The 2020 NFL Draft is right around the corner. Here’s everything that New Orleans Saints fans need to know ahead of this year’s event.

Vitals

Head coach: Sean Payton

General manager: Mickey Loomis

2019 record: 13-3

2020 Draft Picks

Round 1 (24)

Round 3 (88)

Round 4 (130)

Round 5 (169)

Round 6 (203)

Team Needs

Linebacker: The Saints swung at a few big-name free agents (Jamie Collins and Cory Littleton) but couldn’t meet their contract demands, leaving linebacker as their top remaining roster need. Two of their three projected starters are returning from season-ending injuries (Alex Anzalone and Kiko Alonso), as is a top backup (Kaden Elliss). They need a long-term fix at the position with Anzalone, Alonso, and first-team All-Pro Demario Davis each entering the final year of their contracts.

Wide receiver: It’s not as pressing an issue after the Saints signed Emmanuel Sanders, but some help at wide receiver could still be warranted. It’s also important to remember that Sanders is just a two-year rental. While adding a top-flight linebacker would elevate the Saints defense from good to very good, juicing up the receiving corps would do a lot to avoid another quiet finish in the postseason. The Saints have been held to 24 points or fewer in each of their last four playoff games.

Cornerback: Even though the top of the depth chart is locked in with Marshon Lattimore and Janoris Jenkins, the Saints don’t have much to rely on behind them. All of their backups are slot defenders or special teams aces. Adding someone who can fill in out on the boundary should Lattimore get injured or Jenkins trail off (he’s already 31) would do a lot to solidify an important position group, especially in the longer view with Lattimore’s contract expiring after 2021.

Offensive line: While the Saints are returning one of the NFL’s best set of blockers, there’s always room for improvement. Left guard Andrus Peat is back for at least the next three years but the team should plan to account for him missing time while injured. Right guard Larry Warford is in a contract year. Left tackle Terron Armstead is also often dealing with injuries, prompting Peat to slide over to his spot, and right tackle Ryan Ramczyk will be a free agent in 2022. It’s always wise to invest up front.

Top Targets

WR Justin Jefferson, LSU

LB Patrick Queen, LSU

WR Brandon Aiyuk, Arizona State

LB Kenneth Murray, Oklahoma

CB Jeff Gladney, TCU

CB A.J. Terrell, Clemson
