However, as of this publishing, Cleveland’s listed starter is TBD (to be determined), raising the possibility that RHP Shane Bieber (13-8, 2.88 ERA) could take the hill.

The YANKEES (-175) will win this game no matter who the Guardians’ starting pitcher is. New York avoided elimination with the Game 4 victory in Cleveland and now have the momentum. Tuesday, New York will be playing in front of a raucous home crowd hungry to see the high-octane Yankees advance.

The Guardians did a good job to win 2 games in this ALDS, but their season, unfortunately, comes to and end Tuesday night.

Run line/Against the spread

YANKEES -1.5 (+127) is worth a roll of the dice. Civale was very giving this season, especially on the road, and he could be a little rusty, too, as this will be his first outing of the preseason. Look for New York to score runs early against him.

Of course, that’s if Civale starts. If he does, he’ll likely be on a very short leash, with Bieber potentially being used out of the bullpen as it’s all hands on deck in an elimination game.

Over/Under

Run line/Against the spread

YANKEES -1.5 (+135) is worth a roll of the dice. Civale was very giving this season, especially on the road, and he could be a little rusty, too, as this will be his first outing of the preseason. Look for New York to jump all over him early and often.

Over/Under

UNDER 7.5 (-120) is a good play. While I expect the Yankees to do some early damage against Civale, the Cleveland bullpen has been lights out. The Guardians bullpen has allowed just 2 ER in 25 2/3 IP of this series for a 0.70 ERA.

Expect a similar formula to Game 1, where New York scored early, and then didn’t do much after building a lead.

New York has been just the opposite, winning 4 of the last 5 in the ALDS round at home, while going 55-21 in the last 76 games overall at Yankee Stadium.

RHP Shane Bieber vs. LHP Nestor Cortes Jr.

Bieber allowed 1 ER, 3 H and 1 BB with 8 K in 7 2/3 IP in a win over the Tampa Bay Rays Friday, Oct. 7 in the Wild Card round.

Over/Under

OVER 6.5 (-130) is worth playing lightly. Quantrill was money away from home for most of the season, and he hasn’t lost since early July. The Yankees won’t find it easy to get to him, at least early on.

Cole dominated the Guardians during the regular season, and Cleveland has had trouble scoring against plenty of teams lately. However, look for the offense to pick up in the latter half of the game, as New York pours it on late against the Cleveland bullpen.
