Grizzlies at Cavaliers: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Cavaliers 98, Grizzlies 91

Money line (ML)

The CAVALIERS (-125) are worth a look on the money line, as they return home after a grueling six-game road trip, which started on New Year’s Eve in Indianapolis. The Cavaliers went just 2-4 SU during the road trip, but one of the victories was a 94-90 win in Memphis on Jan. 7. The Cavs are a little banged up, but their point guard Sexton should be back in the mix for this one, and that’s great news.

Against the spread (ATS)

The CAVALIERS -1.5 (-115) are slightly cheaper if you lay the small spread and think they can win by a bucket. The difference between the money line and spread is rather negligible, and in this particular instance it’s best to just go ML. The Cavaliers are just 2-5 ATS across their past seven games overall after a hot 3-0 SU/ATS start. The good news is that they beat Memphis already in the past week, and the Grizzlies are rather banged up, too.

Over/Under (O/U)

Hit the UNDER 217.5 (-110), and hit it hard. The Cavaliers enter on an 8-0 Under run, and they have failed to score in triple digits in each of their past seven games. In fact, they’re averaging just 91.7 PPG during the past seven, which is unheard of in this day and age of video game-like offense and cursory defense. Cleveland is very deliberate at the offense end, and they have defensive stalwart and glass cleaner Andre Drummond clogging things up and giving opposing offenses fits. These teams combined for just 184 total points against a 208.5 number on Thursday. Why the books are expecting 33 more points in the second installment is a mystery. Take advantage.
