The Orioles’ Cedric Mullins wowed MLB fans with his unbelievable HR-robbing catch

What. A. Catch.

There hasn’t been much for the Orioles to be proud about this season as they’re well on their way to another 100-loss season. But outfielder Cedric Mullins has been an undeniable bright spot for Baltimore.

After showing flashes of his talent during the shortened 2020 season, Mullins has caught on in Baltimore in a big way this year with an All-Star appearance. And now, he may have pulled off the catch of the season.

During Wednesday’s game against the Yankees with two outs in the second, Gary Sanchez drove a deep fly ball to straightaway center field. But keep an eye on Mullins.

He read the ball perfectly, timed his jump (with some help from the wall) and got *way* up there to bring back the would-be home run.

The Tigers’ Riley Greene made the catch of the year before the MLB season even started

Good luck topping that catch.

Major League Baseball is 10 days away from its scheduled opening day, but we might already have the catch of the season.

And it came from a Detroit Tigers intrasquad scrimmage.

The Tigers’ Twitter account shared a video on Monday of outfielder Riley Greene absolutely robbing C.J. Cron of a sure home run. Cron reached down and golfed a high fly ball to left field, and as Greene tracked the ball’s flight, he went nearly full extension over the wall to bring the ball back.

But watch this catch with the sound on because the audible reaction from the players was so good. Everyone went nuts.

Look familiar? He went full Mike Trout with that grab.

You almost have to feel for Cron there because he had no business hitting *that* pitch as well as he did. And Greene — his teammate! — did him no favors by robbing the homer.

And let’s be honest: In a 60-game season, it’ll be awfully difficult to top that effort.
