LSU women’s basketball adds another five-star recruit to 2025 class

Kim Mulkey and LSU are gearing up to land the top class in the country after adding another five-star on Wednesday

Kim Mulkey is one of the top recruiters in women’s college basketball and she proved it again on Wednesday, adding another five-star to LSU’s loaded 2025 class.

Forward Grace Knox, from Rancho Cucamonga, CA, announced her pledge to LSU.

ESPN ranks Knox as the No. 6 overall player in the class, giving LSU four five-star recruits in its 2025 class. Knox joins Zakiyah Johnson, Divine Bourrage, and Bella Hines.

Knox announced the commitment with a post on social media.

LSU now has three of the top 12 players in the 247Sports rankings and the class has a good chance to finish as the nation’s best.

Mulkey and staff continue to amass talent, giving LSU sticking power near the top of the sport. The Tigers are up there with the sport’s elite programs now and LSU recruits from a national pool of players.

Knox told On3’s Talia Goodman that she was drawn to Mulkey’s straightforward coaching style.

“I feel like Kim Mulkey will push me to a different level,” Knox said, “She’s controversial to some people, but the way she coaches, I’m OK with that.”

When the class arrives on campus, Mulkey should have her most talented group yet, especially if [autotag]Flau’jae Johnson[/autotag] and [autotag]Mikaylah Williams[/autotag] are still around.

Five-star guard Grace Knox sets Longhorns official visit date (report)

The Longhorns are preparing to welcome five-star recruit Grace Knox to campus for an official visit in mid-September

The Texas Longhorns women’s basketball 2025 recruiting class could add a talented guard to the mix in the coming months. The Longhorns are preparing to welcome five-star recruit Grace Knox to campus for an official visit in mid-September. She had narrowed her list down to four schools in July but had not set a date for any visits.

Over the last few years, Knox has seen her stock rise as she has added to her trophy case. As a freshman, she led Spring Valley High to the NIAA 5A semifinals, averaging 13.9 points and 9.8 rebounds. After missing her sophomore season, Knox returned to action during the 2023-2024 campaign and provided a reminder of how good she is. The California native averaged 17.2 points and 11.9 rebounds as a junior.

While the Longhorns have made their interest in Knox well known, they do have competition. Knox will also visit LSU, Tennessee, and USC before making a final decision. One of the biggest things Knox will look at during her visits is the coaching staff.

“Being able to bond with the coach that I’d want to play for and have passion with,” Knox told On3. “The style of play is really important to me – just knowing that I can fit into the program and knowing that I can thrive and become my best self is really important. Location isn’t a big thing for me. I’m willing to go wherever in the country.”

If Knox chose Texas, she would be joining a 2025 class that includes Aaliyah Crump. Adding her to the mix would give the Longhorns one of the best guard combinations in the country. Over the next few weeks, Knox will be one player to watch.
