Good, Bad, Ugly: Slow start vs Colts erased thanks to Cowboys rookies

A big night from the rookie class and the running game helped overcome a slow start as the Dallas Cowboys beat the Indianapolis Colts 54-19. | From @BenGrimaldi

It may have taken a little longer to get there but just as the experts expected, the Dallas Cowboys easily defeated the Indianapolis Colts 54-19. The final score looks like the Cowboys embarrassed the Colts, yet it was a close game when the fourth quarter began.

The early script didn’t go as planned for the Cowboys, who allowed the Colts to hang around. It wasn’t an efficient effort on either side of the ball until the Colts got within two points, which seemed to wake Dallas up from its doldrums.

There were flashes of good, and signs the Cowboys were ready to blow the game open, but that didn’t happen until a few rookies stepped up and made their presence known. A four-turnover fourth quarter helped the Cowboys run the Colts out of the building. The final score was indicative of how the seasons have gone for both teams, Indianapolis remained error prone, and the Cowboys were waiting to make them pay on their way to victory.

Here’s the good, the bad, and the ugly in the Week 13 win for the Cowboys.

Good, Bad, Ugly: Cowboys WRs star in crunch time, Gregory just crunches QBs

There could be an entire line of mascara marketed for how well Dallas dressed up their shortcomings vs the Patriots, and Prescott, his WRs and Randy Gregory painted with precision. | From @BenGrimaldi

There are numerous ways to describe the Dallas Cowboys’ thrilling, 35-29 overtime victory over the New England Patriots on Sunday. It was a great win over a team the Cowboys haven’t defeated in 25 years, but at several (too many) points in the game was also an ugly, frustrating aberration where there was far too much sloppiness.

The game was frustrating. It had massive emotional swings and certainly tested the patience of Cowboys Nation. Yet in the end, Dallas found a way to finally beat Bill Belichick and his Patriots, much like they have found ways to win five out of six games on the season. With each victory Dallas inches closer to the postseason, and as is the case with each game there’s been a lot of good, some bad and a few things that should be buried and never spoken of again.

Here’s a look at the good, the bad and the ugly as the Cowboys improved to 5-1 with a Week 6 win.

The Good, Bad and Ugly: Cowboys overcome slow start as stars outshine Giants, 44-20

While the Cowboys ended up cruising thanks to their offensive prowess, the pass defense was once again thwarted by a menacing opponent. A look at what went right, wrong and sideways in Week 5. | From @BenGrimaldi

The Dallas Cowboys won their fourth game in a row Sunday, beating the rival New York Giants, 44-20. For the second consecutive week, the Cowboys pulled away thanks to a second-half scoring barrage to make it look easy on the scoreboard, but it was one of the strangest games the teams have played lately.

Injuries relegated the Giants to mostly second-stringers on offense, but the Cowboys responded with some sloppy play. Dallas got the win in some of the same ways they’ve been successful on the season.

Here’s the good, the bad and the ugly in a Week 5 victory for the now 4-1 Cowboys.

Good, Bad, Ugly from Cowboys big win: Blowout victory with things to clean up make for coach’s dream

A strong running game and a young defensive core led the Dallas Cowboys to a convincing 41-21 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. There were some things that need to be cleaned up, though. | From @BenGrimaldi

The Dallas Cowboys finally got to play their home opener and they didn’t disappoint their 90,000 fans who were in attendance, whipping the rival Philadelphia Eagles by a score of 41-21. With first place on the line in the NFC East, the Cowboys proved they are the cream of the crop, dominating on both sides of the ball in the win.

In Dak Prescott’s first game at AT&T Stadium since his ankle injury in 2020, he led an efficient and balanced offensive effort. Prescott completed over 80% of his passes in throwing forfor 238 yards and three scores in the rout.

That of course wasn’t the only noteworthy performance in the putting up of the club’s first 40 burger. It may be hard to fathom, but not everything was perfect either. Here’s a look at the good, the bad and the ugly from the Dallas victory.
