Golden Knights at Canadiens: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:18 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Golden Knights -150 (bet $150 to win $100) | Canadiens +125 (bet $100 to win $125)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Golden Knights -1.5 (+180) | Canadiens +1.5 (-225)
  • Over/Under: 5 (O: -130 | U: +105)

Golden Knights at Canadiens: Projected starting goalies

Marc-Andre Fleury (26-10-0, 1.98 GAA, .928 SV%, 6 SO) at Carey Price (12-7-5, 2.64 GAA, .901 SV%, 1 SO). Stats from regular season.

Fleury wasn’t terrible in Game 5, but he wasn’t great either. The Golden Knights were tripped up at home and pushed to the brink, as he allowed three goals on 25 shots for his third straight loss in the series. He’ll likely have a very, very short leash, with Robin Lehner waiting in the wings.

Price allowed just one goal on 27 shots, winning for the third time in the last four games. Montreal is now just one game away from playing for its first Stanley Cup since 1993.

Golden Knights at Canadiens: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Golden Knights 3, Canadiens 2

Money line (ML)

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS (-150) are rather solid favorites on the road in this elimination game, as the books just refuse to give the Canadiens any credit.

While Montreal has been an amazing story I just don’t see them being able to finish it off. The way Vegas has been going there isn’t really much of a reason to back them; they’ve struggled offensively for the entire series, and Price has had a lot to do with that, but I still can’t write them off.

Against the spread (ATS)

Back the CANADIENS +1.5 (-225), although they’ll cost you a pretty penny. Three of the first five outings in this series have been one-goal games, and Montreal has covered the puck line in each of the last four.

Over/Under (O/U)

There have been exactly five goals four times through the first five games in this series, with one Under result. As such, the TOTAL of 5 is not worth playing. However, I do think with the intensity ratcheted up tremendously, that the alternate line of UNDER 5.5 (-165) is the lean here.

Vegas Golden Knights at Montreal Canadiens Game 4 odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Sunday’s Vegas Golden Knights at Montreal Canadiens Game 4 NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The Vegas Golden Knights and Montreal Canadiens play Game 4 of their Stanley Cup Semifinals series Sunday. Puck drop is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET at Bell Centre. Below, we analyze the Golden Knights vs. Canadiens odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

The Golden Knights had a 2-1 lead late in Game 3, but Marc-Andre Fleury misplayed the puck, giving Josh Anderson an easy tap-in for the game-tying goal with 1:55 remaining.

Anderson struck again at 12:53 of overtime, becoming just the second player in Montreal franchise history to score the game-tying goal in the final two minutes and the overtime winner in the same playoff game. Eric Desjardins also accomplished the feat in the 1993 Stanley Cup Final, which was the last time the franchise won the Cup. Hmm.

Golden Knights at Canadiens: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 8:39 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Golden Knights -180 (bet $180 to win $100) | Canadiens +155 (bet $100 to win $155) |
  • Against the spread/ATS: Golden Knights -1.5 (+150) | Canadiens +1.5 (-180)
  • Over/Under: 5 (O: -130 | U: +105)

Golden Knights at Canadiens: Projected starting goalies

Marc-Andre Fleury (26-10-0, 1.98 GAA, .928 SV%, 6 SO) at Carey Price (12-7-5, 2.64 GAA, .901 SV%, 1 SO). Stats from regular season.

Fleury will look to rebound, and he should be plenty angry after his misplay helped the Habs to the game-tying goal and force overtime. He faced just eight shots in the first two periods in Game 3, but 19 total shots in the third and overtime.

Price was under heavy pressure all night long in Game 3, as Vegas had 17 first-period shots, 13 second-period shots and 15 shots in the third period and overtime combined. He stopped 43 of those 45 shots in a superb effort.

Golden Knights at Canadiens: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Golden Knights 3, Canadiens 1

Money line (ML)

The Golden Knights (-180) are just a little too expensive, and I am a little leery of backing VGK. The public jumped on Vegas early at nearly a 2-to-1 clip, and it’s usually a losing proposition siding with Joey Public. But I am just not feeling another Canadiens (+155) upset, either.

AVOID.

Against the spread (ATS)

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS -1.5 (+150) are a better play in Game 4. They should have won Game 3, and we should see them respond rather angrily and emphatically, knotting the series 2-2 before heading back home.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 5 (+105) is the “lean” here as Fleury will be on a mission and Price has been on fire. We have had three official pushes across the first three games in the series, and the offense won’t show up here, either.

Vegas Golden Knights at Montreal Canadiens Game 3 odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Vegas Golden Knights at Montreal Canadiens Game 3 NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The Vegas Golden Knights and Montreal Canadiens play Game 3 of their best-of-7 Stanley Cup Semifinals Friday. Puck drop is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET at Bell Centre. Below, we analyze the Golden Knights vs. Canadiens odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

The Golden Knights were edged 3-2 on home ice in Game 2 as their five-game win streak came to an end. They’ve won just one of their past four road games, but the most recent was a 3-2 overtime victory at the Colorado Avalanche in Game 5 of the second round.

The Canadiens seized home-ice advantage from the Golden Knights with their thrilling Game 2 victory. The Habs have won three straight on home ice, outscoring the opposition 11-5 with two victories coming in overtime.

Golden Knights at Canadiens: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 6:56 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Golden Knights -165 (bet $165 to win $100) | Canadiens +135 (bet $100 to win $135) |
  • Against the spread/ATS: Golden Knights -1.5 (+165) | Canadiens +1.5 (-200)
  • Over/Under: 5 (O: -135 | U: +110)

Golden Knights at Canadiens: Projected starting goalies

Marc-Andre Fleury (26-10-0, 1.98 GAA, .928 SV%, 6 SO) at Carey Price (12-7-5, 2.64 GAA, .901 SV%, 1 SO). Stats from regular season.

Fleury fell into a 2-0 hole after the first 16:30 of the first period in Game 2, and he coughed up another goal late in the second. It was just too big of a deficit to recover from, although the Golden Knights scored two goals to make it interesting.

Price did his thing on the road at Las Vegas in Game 2, stopping 29 of 31 shots. He couldn’t solve Golden Knights D Alex Pietrangelo, who got him twice in the final two periods, but in the end, Price hung on.

Golden Knights at Canadiens: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Golden Knights 3, Canadiens 1

Money line (ML)

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS (-165) are worth playing as they look to wrestle back home-ice advantage from the Canadiens. It will be interesting to see how VGK responds, however, to a limit capacity crowd in Montreal after playing in front of raucous crowds in each of the first two games.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS -1.5 (+165) won and covered the puck line in Game 1 at home. A late empty-net goal gets it done in this road win.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 5 (+110) is the play at plus-money, although the total in each of the first two games has landed right on the number.

Playing the alternate line of UNDER 5.5 (-160) worked in both games in Vegas. It isn’t a bad idea here if you want a little bit of wiggle room.
