Gisele Bündchen’s attendance at the Met Gala inspired so many Tom Brady jokes

The supermodel hit the glamorous red carpet solo.

Once married to supermodel Gisele Bündchen, NFL legend Tom Brady was no stranger to the Met Gala red carpet. The duo frequented the glamorous event over the course of their 13-year marriage.

Brady and Bündchen called it quits in October of 2022, with the quarterback saying they made that decision “amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together” according to an interview in March of this year.

Bündchen hit the red carpet for Monday night’s event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, looking absolutely fabulous and leading to a lot of jokes.

Gisele Bündchen made sure everyone knew that her marriage to Tom Brady ended not just because he retired and then went back on that decision to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for one more year.

The model was the subject of a Vanity Fair profile that dropped on Wednesday, and in it, she addressed the rampant speculation that’s been everywhere ever since.

As Bündchen says in the story, a marriage ending “takes years to happen,” not just because of Brady’s one decision. And, on top of that, there was blame unfairly put on her, as if Bündchen said that it’s either football or her:

The only problem is that, according to Bündchen, no such thing ever happened. She calls those characterizations “very hurtful” and “the craziest thing I’ve ever heard.”

“Listen, I have always cheered for him, and I would continue forever,” Bündchen insists, her voice thick with emotion. “If there’s one person I want to be the happiest in the world, it’s him, believe me. I want him to achieve and to conquer. I want all his dreams to come true. That’s what I want, really, from the bottom of my heart.” …

When I ask Bündchen if there were stories written about their split that simply weren’t true, she flatly replies, “Everything.”

“Like, I would give up my dream because of…” Bündchen trails off.

“One more season?” I attempt to fill in.

“Wow, people really made it about that,” she says. “What’s been said is one piece of a much bigger puzzle,” Bündchen tells me later. “It’s not so black and white.” Bündchen also dismisses digital murmurs that politics—namely, the MAGA hat spotted in Brady’s locker in 2015—drove a wedge. “Never,” she tells me.

Tom Brady’s ex-wife Gisele Bundchen commented on his retirement announcement.

Although Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen are divorced, the pair are still publicly being sweet to each other after the GOAT NFL quarterback announced he was retiring — “for good,” this time, as he said — from the league on Wednesday.

Brady put together a giant Instagram story on Wednesday morning filled with photos of family, friends, teammates and more that included Bundchen. And Gisele left a lovely comment on the post that told the world he was done with the NFL.

“Wishing you only wonderful things in this new chapter of your life,” Bundchen wrote, as fans all over social media noticed:

“Mi esposa y yo finalizamos nuestro divorcio. Llegamos a esta decisión de forma amigable y agradecidos por el tiempo que estuvimos juntos”, publicó en Instagram el 7 veces ganador del Super Bowl.

“Fuimos bendecidos con unos bellos y maravillosos hijos, a los que continuaremos criando. Trabajaremos juntos como padres para asegurarnos de que reciban el amor y la atención que merecen”, agregó.

Brady pidió respeto a él y su ex pareja y asegura que este es solo otro capítulo más en la historia de cada uno.

Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen announced on Friday that they are finalizing their divorce after 13 years of marriage.

For the last couple of months, there have been various reports about their relationship after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback retired and then unretired just 40 days later in March and rejoined the Bucs.

On Friday, after the Buccaneers lost to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night, news broke that they were getting a divorce. Both Brady and Bündchen then took to Instagram soon after to deliver statements, asking for privacy to be respected.
