BREAKING: Wisconsin lands a commitment from 2024 RB Gideon Ituka

Another commitment for Luke Fickell in the class of 2024:

Wisconsin’s class of 2024 continues to grow by the day. Today the program landed a commitment from running back Gideon Ituka, its fifteenth commitment in the class.

Ituka is a three-star recruit on 247Sports. He’s listed as the No. 993 player in the class of 2023, No. 78 running back and No. 25 player from his home state of Maryland. The recruiting service had recently given Wisconsin a crystal ball prediction to land the running back.

Ituka’s commitment follows an official visit to Madison earlier this month. The Badgers are now nearing double-digit commitments since those official visit weekends began.

The class overall ranks in 247Sports’ top-15 nationally, and No. 4 in the Big Ten.

Ituka is the first running back committed to Luke Fickell’s first full class as head coach. He projects to enter a Wisconsin running back room that will be depleted after Braelon Allen and Chez Mellusi finish their college careers, which could happen in both cases after this year.

I won’t be surprised if Fickell continues to add to the running back room as the 2024 cycle continues. With the pace Phil Longo will operate with on offense, gone likely are the days of a single workhorse running back at Wisconsin. Allen and Mellusi represent a perfect 1-2 combination to get the Longo era underway. Now with 5-foot 9-inch, 220-pound Ituka entering the room in 2024, there still will likely be plenty of snaps to go around.

A Wisconsin target in the class of 2024 will announce his commitment Saturday

Luke Fickell and his staff could see the 2024 class grow even further this weekend

Wisconsin’s class of 2024 currently sits ranked No. 14 in the country after a barrage of commitments followed the program’s early June official visit weekends.

The program still has plenty of targets left on the board, many of whom took visits to Madison earlier this month.

One player is three-star running back Gideon Ituka. The Maryland native tweeted yesterday he would be announcing his commitment Saturday at 1:30 p.m. CST. His decision will come after spending June 9-11 on-campus for his official visit.

Ituka is 247Sports’ No. 993 player in the class of 2023, No. 78 running back and No. 25 player from his home state of Maryland. The recruiting service currently lists one crystal ball prediction for the running back to choose Wisconsin.

The Badgers now have two 2024 targets announcing commitments in the coming days, Ituka joining four-star wide receiver I’Marion Stewart who will announce on Friday.

Luke Fickell and his staff hope the recent recruiting run continues when Ituka and Stewart announce their college decisions.

Wisconsin offers 2024 RB Gideon Ituka

The Badgers offer RB Gideon Ituka

The Badgers have been active on the 2024 recruiting trail in recent weeks, and that continued when Wisconsin offered running back Gideon Ituka out of Maryland.

The Maryland native announced the news on his Twitter account, and said the offer came after a “great conversation with Bobby Engram,” who is Wisconsin’s new offensive coordinator.

Ituka plays his high school football at Gaithersburg High School in Maryland. He also holds offers from Boston College, Liberty, and Maryland in this early stage of the process.

While the 5-foot-9 speedster is not yet ranked by 247Sports, he has already picked up multiple high-profile offers.
