Georgia Tech at Florida State: Three things to know

  1. The Yellow Jackets bounced back from consecutive season-opening losses to earn a Dec. 6 win over ranked Kentucky and a Dec. 9 victory at Nebraska. After committing 35 turnovers in its first two games, Georgia Tech has rallied to commit just 7.0 per game of its last two efforts.
  2. The ‘Noles have relied on free throws and “three throws” in winning their first three games. FSU has connected on 38.3% of 20.0 treys per game (44.4% over games 2 and 3); the Seminoles have gotten to the charity stripe 24.0 times per game (converting 68.1%). Leading scorer M.J. Walker (17.7 points per game) has averaged 4.3 attempts from 3-point range and 8.0 free throw attempts per game.
  3. Florida State defeated Georgia Tech, 70-58, when the two teams met last season (Dec. 31). FSU forced 20 turnovers in the game and was a plus-8 in that category and a plus-7 in rebounds. Over the last four meetings in the series, the Seminoles are 4-0 straight-up and 3-1 against the spread (the Under has gone 3-1 over those four games).

Georgia Tech at Florida State: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Florida State 75, Georgia Tech 67

Money line (ML)

PASS, but a line watch could yield some value if Florida State -375 comes into play.

Against the spread (ATS)

FSU is the better team at both ends of the floor, but respect the tag here: PASS.

Over/Under (O/U)

There is value in banking on the Under trend to continue in this series. A regression in the Yellow Jackets’ offensive efficiency seems likely, and the back half of back-to-back road games is where that figures even more likely to occur.

BACK THE UNDER 141 (-110).

Duke at Georgia Tech odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Duke at Georgia Tech sports betting odds and lines, with college football betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Duke Blue Devils (2-6, 1-6 ACC) visit the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (2-5, 2-4) Saturday for a 7 p.m. ET kickoff. Below, we analyze the Duke-Georgia Tech college football betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Duke at Georgia Tech: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Friday at 9:35 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Duke -115 (bet $115 to win $100) | Georgia Tech -106 (bet $106 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Duke -1 (-110) | Georgia Tech +1 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 57.5 (O: -115 | U: -106)

Duke at Georgia Tech: Three things to know

  1. The Blue Devils had last week’s game against Wake Forest wiped out by COVID-19 concerns, and they haven’t taken the field since Nov. 7. They were waffled 56-24 by UNC last time out, and they are 1-3 straight up and 2-2 ATS in four road games this season.
  2. The Yellow Jackets are on a three-game slide, averaging just 15.7 points per game while allowing 50.7 PPG during the span. Like Duke, they have had COVID-related issues in their recent schedule, and they haven’t been on the field since Oct. 31, a 31-13 loss but cover against Notre Dame.
  3. Duke is 2-5 ATS in its past seven road games and 2-6-1 ATS in the past seven against teams with a losing record. The Blue Devils are a solid 9-2 ATS in their previous 11 games following a bye. Georgia Tech is 6-16 ATS in its last 22 games, and 3-10 ATS in the previous 13 at home. Duke has cashed in four of the past five trips to Atlanta, and six in a row in this series.

Duke at Georgia Tech: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Duke 34, Georgia Tech 27

Money line (ML)

DUKE (-115) is worth a look on the money line, as it’s playing a little better brand of football lately. The Blue Devils are 2-2 SU/ATS in their past four, and their offense has looked at least functional while the defense was really only shredded in the Victory Bell game against UNC. Georgia Tech (-106) has routinely been getting knocked around, and cannot be trusted on D.

Against the spread (ATS)

DUKE -1 (-110) will win this game by at least a touchdown. Over the years, in good times and in bad ones, the Blue Devils have been a thorn in the side of the Ramblin’ Wreck. Look for Duke to pick up its third win of the season, and its second on the road.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 57.5 (-115) is the strongest option on the board. The Over is 5-1 in the past six games for the Blue Devils, as they have posted 20 or more points in each of their past six while allowing 24 or more in four of the past five. We touched on Georgia Tech’s defensive woes, as it’s allowing 50.7 PPG over its last three games.

Notre Dame at Georgia Tech odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets sports betting odds and lines, with college football betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish (5-0 overall, 4-0 ACC) visit the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (2-4, 2-3) Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff. Below, we analyze the Notre Dame-Georgia Tech college football betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Despite crushing Pitt 45-3 last Saturday, the Fighting Irish dropped one spot to No. 4 in the Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports. (Ohio State took over the No. 3 spot after winning its season opener last week.)

Notre Dame at Georgia Tech: Betting odds and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday at 5:40 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Notre Dame -1000 (bet $1,000 to win $100) | Georgia Tech +620 (bet $100 to win $620)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Notre Dame -19.5 (-121) | Georgia Tech +19.5 (+100)
  • Over/Under: 57.5 (O: -106 | U: -115)

Notre Dame at Georgia Tech: Three things to know

  1. Notre Dame easily covered a 9.5-point spread with the 42-point victory at Pitt. QB Ian Book threw for 312 yards and three touchdowns, two of them to WR Ben Skowronek (2 receptions, 107 yards). Just before halftime, DL Isaiah Foskey blocked a Pitt punt and landed on the ball in the end zone for a score and a 28-3 Notre Dame lead. The Irish defense had three interceptions and held the Panthers to 162 total yards (118 passing, 44 rushing).
  2. Georgia Tech, as a 3-point underdog, lost at Boston College 48-27 last week. The Yellow Jackets fumbled twice in the first half – the second was returned 33 yards for a score and a 24-0 BC lead. The Jackets defense couldn’t stop the Eagles, who scored on their first six possessions and led 41-14 early in the second half. Tech QB Jeff Sims threw for 171 yards and two TDs with one pick. He added 47 rushing yards and a score.
  3. Notre Dame is 2-3 ATS with a 3-2 O/U record, while Georgia Tech is 2-4 ATS with a 5-1 O/U record. The Irish won their last meeting vs. the Yellow Jackets 30-22 back in 2015, and lead the all-time series 28-6-1.

Notre Dame at Georgia Tech: Odds, prediction, betting lines and picks

Prediction

Notre Dame 38, Georgia Tech 17

Money line (ML)

AVOID. No way should anyone make a -1000 ML bet. Laying 10 times your potential return is terrible gambling management. It will take a $10 bet just to win $1 when betting a -1000 line. An injury, a disqualification or an opponent having the game of his/her life are just three of the things that can bite such a bet in the butt.

Against the spread (ATS)

NOTRE DAME -19.5 (-121) is worth a small play – half your usual wager. The Irish shouldn’t have a problem with the Jackets. Notre Dame has allowed only 9.8 points per game this season, while Georgia Tech is yielding 41.2 PPG.

The fear is that Notre Dame hosts top-ranked Clemson a week from Saturday and could get caught looking ahead and/or resting starters – if it has a big lead – in the second half.

Over/Under (O/U)

The UNDER 57.5 (-115) is also worth a small play. If Notre Dame wasn’t playing Clemson next week, I’d hammer the OVER, but I’m not taking that chance with the Irish looking ahead and/or taking their foot off the gas vs. the Yellow Jackets.

Georgia Tech at Boston College odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Boston College Eagles sports betting odds and lines, with college football betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (2-3 overall, 2-2 ACC) and Boston College Eagles (3-2, 2-2) meet at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Mass., for a 4 p.m. ET kickoff Saturday. Below, we analyze the Georgia Tech-Boston College college football betting odds and lines, with picks and best bets.

Georgia Tech at Boston College: Betting odds and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Wednesday at 8:20 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Georgia Tech +135 (bet $100 to win $135) | Boston College -167 (bet $167 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Georgia Tech +3 (-106) | Boston College -3 (-115)
  • Over/Under: 54.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Georgia Tech at Boston College: Three things to know

  1. Georgia Tech was emasculated at home by No. 1 Clemson 73-7, allowing 500 passing yards while amassing just 81 last Saturday. The Tigers also had 29 first downs to just seven for the Yellow Jackets. The only positives were that Georgia Tech managed 123 yards on the ground and averaged 48.3 yards per punt.
  2. Boston College was also treated rudely last week, falling 40-14 at then-No. 23 Virginia Tech (now up to No. 20). Still, the Eagles are averaging 305.2 passing yards per game to rank 17th in the nation, and they’re 25th against the pass with just 209.6 yards per game allowed.
  3. BC is 2-1 SU/ATS at home through three games, covering each of its home contests against conference foes. The Under has connected in four of five games overall for the Eagles.

Georgia Tech at Boston College: Odds, prediction, betting lines and picks

Prediction

Boston College 27, Georgia Tech 23

Money line (ML)

BOSTON COLLEGE (-167) isn’t a bad play straight up, although it will cost you. Still, they Eagles have proven to be quite effective at home, winning two of three. Know that all three of their home games have been one-score contests, though, so you can expect a close one that you’ll have to sweat out the entire afternoon.

Against the spread (ATS)

BOSTON COLLEGE -3 (-115) is worth a small-unit play, although I’m actually more comfortable playing the Eagles on the money line. Boston College just doesn’t post a lot of points, and when it wins, it does not win by a lot.

Over/Under (O/U)

The UNDER 54.5 (-110) should be the play you have the most confidence in. The Under is 4-1 in Boston College’s five games overall. While the Over is 4-1 in Georgia Tech’s five contests, including each of the past four, it’s averaging just 18.0 PPG on offense in two road games.
