The Georgia Bulldogs are 2024 SEC champions after beating the Texas Longhorns 22-19 in the first ever overtime game in SEC championship history. Georgia forced a Texas field goal on the Longhorns’ first overtime possession.
Back up quarterback Gunner Stockton helped lead Georgia down inside Texas’ five yard line. However, Stockton took a massive hit and was unable to play, so starting quarterback Carson Beck was forced to return despite having an upper body injury.
Beck handed the ball off to running back Trevor Etienne, who scored the game-winning touchdown for the Bulldogs. The rest is history.
