On Saturday, the Georgia Bulldogs easily took down the South Carolina Gamecocks in Columbia by a final score of 45 – 16. This comes just one season after the Gamecocks upset the Dawgs in Sanford with a 20 -17 double overtime victory.
After that game, South Carolina players ripped out parts of Georgia’s historic hedges as a souvenir. It was quite the opposite for the Gamecocks in 2020.
Georgia’s defense held Carolina to just 83 yards on the ground and 273 total yards. Kirby Smart went with a run heavy approach, only throwing the ball 16 times in the game. The Dawgs’ running backs showed up, combining for 351 yards on the ground.
Linebackers Monty Rice and Jermaine Johnson took home a souvenir of their own, grabbing some of South Carolina’s hedges to go back to Athens.

Georgia moves to 6-2 after their win, placing them second in the SEC East behind Florida with just two more games left in the season.
The Dawgs play the 0-8 Vanderbilt Commodores at home next week.
