Georgia wins world’s most boring football game: Next up – Florida

Georgia football beat Kentucky in a terribly boring game. Next up for the Bulldogs are the Florida Gators.

Anyone else happy that one is over?

Georgia beat Kentucky Saturday by an underwhelming score of 14-3 to advance to 4-1 on the year.

Though the Dawgs had control of it from the start, this was a really poor display of Georgia football.

Again, Stetson Bennett proved he is not the answer. Bennett was 9/13 for 131 yards, 0 touchdowns and two interceptions.

Zamir White, however, played great, rushing for 136 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries. That was his first 100 yard game of his career.

Defensively, the Dawgs played well, holding Kentucky to 3 points. The Wildcats did, though, put together a long 10 minute drive in the second quarter that sucked all the life out of the game.

Players were dropping like flies all day, unfortunately. Wide receiver George Pickens and running back Kenny McIntosh did not dress for the game. Defensive linemen Julian Rochester and Jordan Davis left early. Linebackers Quay Walker and Monty Rice are banged up. And defensive back Lewis Cine is hurting.

With a high-powered Florida offense on the schedule next week, the Dawgs are in trouble if these guys cannot go.

Georgia, which has controlled the series against Florida the past few years, is in serious danger of losing to the Gators next weekend if this offense cannot get its act together. Bennett just is not good enough to win in a shootout, and no matter how good the Georgia defense is, Florida is still going to put up points.

UGA will need to run the ball, and not abandon the run game. Keep the ball, don’t make Bennett win it with his arm. Two weeks ago against Alabama, Bennett’s height hurt him, resulting in a number of batted passes at the line of scrimmage. Today against Kentucky, that trend continued as Bennett was picked off on first and goal after throwing the ball into the hand of a Kentucky defensive lineman.

Georgia will need to figure things out if it wants to leave Jacksonville with a win and a shot at competing for the SEC Championship Game.

How Georgia football and TAMU match up: Statistical breakdown

See how Georgia football and Texas AM football matchup in our weekly head-to-head statistical breakdown ahead of Saturdays game.

The Texas A&M Aggies travel East this Saturday as the Georgia Bulldogs will host them in Sanford Stadium for what will be the Dawgs final SEC matchup of the regular season.

Georgia secured a ticket to its third straight SEC Championship Game this past Saturday with a 21-14 victory at Auburn.

The unranked Aggies (7-3, 4-2) are not a team to overlook.  Jimbo Fisher and company have lost games to previously ranked #1 Clemson, #1 Alabama and #8 Auburn. A&M has one of the toughest schedules in all of college football, still having #4 Georgia as well as #1 LSU the week after.

That will be a total of three #1 teams and four top five teams on the season.

That being said, let’s take a look at how these two teams matchup statistically this season.

On paper, the first matchup between the Bulldogs ands Aggies since TAMU joined the SEC in 2012 looks to be a Georgia win. But, hey, we said the same thing before South Carolina.

Here’s a look at how the two SEC programs match up statistically.
