Genshin Impact: Yae Miko gameplay leak from update 2.5

Genshin Impact’s update 2.5 will feature Yae Miko as a playable electro-fighter.

Genshin Impact’s update 2.5 will feature Yae Miko as a playable electro-fighter and is expected to release in March 2022. Now, gameplay footage of the highly anticipated character has been leaked online.

Yae Miko has appeared in Genshin Impact several times over the course of the adventure through the eternal realm of Inazuma and has captured players’ imaginations with her manners and backstory. Among other things, she is the head of the Narukami Shrine, has the blood of supernatural beings in her veins, is a confidante of Shogun Raiden, and the owner of a publishing house – quite a resume.

Trusted leaker UBatcha, in collaboration with abc64, posted the first-ever gameplay scene featuring Yae Miko on Twitter just in time for the release of update 2.4 on Jan. 5, 2022:

In the footage captured from a beta build, the busy lady’s attacks and abilities can be seen, making her Kitsune roots quite clear: she whirls fox-shaped lightning bolts around herself and hurls them forward, summons lightning strikes from above, and can teleport away from danger while leaving sword-shaped crystals of electrical energy in her previous position. These build connections between each other and therefore seem to have another purpose, though that is unclear for the moment.

When using her Ultimate, a bundle of fox tails can briefly be seen behind her before she summons a massive lightning storm that blankets an area with destructive energy. In any case, the Catalyst user seems to have potent offensive capabilities to match her talents in other areas.

So far, little is known about update 2.5 other than the debut of Yae Miko as a playable character and the release of four new skins for Jean, Amber, Rosaria, and Mona, but users will be busy exploring the content from Version 2.4, such as the new area Enkanomiya, for now anyway.

Genshin Impact was Reddit’s most popular gaming community in 2021

League of Legends and Final Fantasy 14 trail slow behind.

Reddit’s year-end  recap  is out, and 2021’s most popular gaming communities might not be what you would expect.

The top five most-viewed Subreddits for 2021 were:

Yes, more so than any other video game subreddit, Genshin Impact  managed to come out with the most views on Reddit. There was a time when most western analysts would scoff at the idea of a gacha title being this popular, but no longer it seems.

League of Legends coming in second isn’t all that surprising. Even with developer  Riot Games still dealing with a gender discrimination lawsuit, the  free-to-play MOBA shows no signs of slowing down.

Final Fantasy 14’s  place on the list is interesting, though. Square Enix’s MMORPG grew in popularity tremendously this year, to the point where the company had to  stop selling it for a bit because it was too much of a success. Even now, the  server congestion issues persist. Talk about suffering from success.

It’ll be interesting to see if Genshin Impact  and Final Fantasy 14  can maintain this level of popularity throughout 2022 as well. The former is a no-brainer, while the latter seems pretty likely as well.

Genshin Impact’s Kamisato Ayato is unfortunately not a horse

Genshin Impact fans will be disappointed to learn that Kamisato Ayato is not, in fact, a horse.

Genshin Impact fans will be devastated to learn that potentially upcoming character Kamisato Ayato is not, in fact, a horse. As with just about everyone else in the game, Ayato is a regular, bipedal human with next to no equine features. Sad.

As is often the case before a new character is introduced to Genshin Impact, the community has gone into overdrive attempting to deduce what’s to come, which, on this occasion, many believed would be of a horsey nature. VG247 took a closer look at the minutiae of the situation, delving into the rumor’s origins, proponents, and eventual debunking.

[mm-video type=video id=01fnrbaed5p7qg15cja2 playlist_id=none player_id=none image=https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/video/thumbnail/mmplus/01fnrbaed5p7qg15cja2/01fnrbaed5p7qg15cja2-b2749e13fbe325fea1f6ce9d25ed3555.jpg]

Basically, a Twitter user named Mushi – who literally made their blatant troll account earlier this week – shared a screenshot of a conversation from popular Genshin Discord server Wangsheng Funeral Parlor. The only messages visible in the picture are “give me Ayato crumbs” and the response that kicked this whole fiasco off in the first place: “Ayato is part horse.”

https://twitter.com/adeptigxnyu/status/1472541159318773760

On top of various other prominent Genshin leakers, Mushi themselves has clarified that the tweet was supposed to be a joke. For some strange reason, people either don’t know or don’t care about that follow-up. To Genshin fans, Kamisato Ayato is a horse and that’s it. Case closed.

https://twitter.com/adeptigxnyu/status/1472663401214136321

A bunch of actual leakers with proven track records like UBatcha, 46cba, and BLANK have also taken to Twitter to clarify that, actually, Ayato is not a horse. Still, Genshin players on Reddit are reluctant to let the rumor die without putting up a fight, and are now claiming that Ayato could technically be a centaur (reader, Ayato is not a centaur).

Like many leaks – particularly in extremely online communities like the Genshin one – this was quickly exaggerated and propagated as the truth without any real investigation into its veracity or lack thereof. You’d think “the next character is going to be a horse” would set off alarm bells at some point, but the rumor spread like wildfire. This is despite the fact that Ayaka, Ayato’s younger sister, is a) already playable and b) clearly not a horse.

Then again, we technically haven’t seen Ayato’s face yet… Nah. Not a horse.

… Right?

If you’re still playing Genshin and want to make the most of your time while you wait to see just how equine Ayato’s features are or aren’t, be sure to check out our build guides for Gorou and Arataki Itto. Arataki Itto from Genshin Impact is currently the most coveted target for fans of muscular, sword-wielding husbandos. Genshin Impact 2.4 features Custom Furnishing Sets and a new region: Enkanomiya

There will be new quests and the opportunity to revisit the Lantern Rite and Windtrace events.

Dataminers have been digging into Genshin Impact 2.4, uncovering upcoming content that’s heading to the game. Among them, there’s a new region called Enkanomiya, new story and hangout quests, and the opportunity to revisit the Lantern Rite and Windtrace events.

Before we dive in, though, here’s a quick caveat: while these leakers have a proven track record, sometimes plans change in game development. What’s here might not be the full list, and some things could be removed or tweaked before the update rolls out. With that out of the way, let’s dive in.

We’ll start with Enkanomiya, Genshin Impact’s new area. According to a leaker, “Enkanomiya will feature an alternating time cycle between Evernight and Whitenight that reveals different appearances of environments and mechanisms. There are a total of 9 subareas in Enkanomiya.”

The entrance to Enkanomiya can be found near the Sangonomiya Shrine on Inazuma’s western islands.

There will also be two Hangouts in Genshin Impact’s 2.4 update. New character Yun Jin will get some love here, alongside Ningguang. Outside of that, another new character, Shenhe, will be getting an Archon Quest.

It’s not just quests and new areas, though – more customization options are coming in 2.4. “Travelers will be able to create Custom Furnishing Sets and change both Mansion and Realm background music,” according to Project Celestia

If you’re looking for more Genshin Impact, we’ve got the Shadows Amidst Snowstorms unlock times and conditions. You can also get to know the characters better with our list of Genshin Impact character bios.

Eula celebrates her return to Genshin Impact‘s banners and this guide will show you how to fully utilize the noblewoman’s strengths. Wielding a powerful claymore, she can be incredibly useful in the right situations, with the right build.

The fourth banner in Genshin Impact will provide reruns of previously released characters. Eula, the Cryo claymore fighter, is the first appearance in this new banner. The banner appeared first on November 24 and is expected to be active until December 14, 2021. In addition to Eula, the “Kreideprinz” Albedo is also back in action, and we have an Albedo build guide. If you want to know more about the best Genshin Impact DPS characters, we have a guide for that.

Genshin Impact: Albedo sub-DPS build guide

Albedo has returned in Genshin Impact’s latest banner, and this build guide is updated with the best items from the latest patch.

Albedo is one of the stars of Genshin Impact‘s newest rerun banner and this guide will show you how to bring the best out of the “Kreideprinz.”

Yes, it’s another rerun: the banner featuring Albedo in Genshin Impact appeared on November 24 and will remain available until December 14, 2021. The action role-playing game’s 2.3 update is jokingly referred to by fans as the “Albedo patch,” because it comes with a weapon that is practically made for Mondstadt’s chief alchemist. Even without the new blade, however, the Geo character is an excellent support DPS unit. Just read through our in-depth breakdown of how to build and play as Albedo below, and make sure to also check out our Eula build guide, the other Genshin Impact character returning in the current banner.

‘Genshin Impact’ is letting fans create and sell content

Content creators can sell their own merchandise with MiHoYo’s support.

Anyone creating artwork and merchandise based on Genshin Impact  can now sell that content with developer MiHoYo’s full support.

MiHoYo announced that it would allow the sale of “original secondary content” created by fans  on Monday. That includes posters, stickers, character portraits, paintings and so on. Content creators don’t even need to declare this stuff to MiHoYo unless it competes with official merchandise. Items like figures or statues are more of a grey area, for example, so those might need the ok from MiHoYo before any transactions occur and modifying official merch for resale is a big no-no.

MiHoYo’s full guidelines regarding selling Genshin Impact  content is available below. It’s pretty dense and rife with legal jargon, though, so it’s only worth reading if you plan to create and sell stuff.

All it takes is a quick search on websites like Etsy to see that Genshin Impact  has a huge community devoted just to creating original content based on the game. So MiHoYo laying out guidelines for what’s is and isn’t ok for fans is good to see.

Genshin Impact  is an absolute titan of the video game industry right now. Fans go wild over character detail fact sheets  and knowing  what the best items are is essential to success.
